  1. Breaking… CB Jabbar Muhammad commits to Oregon!
  2. KU’s Lance Leipold was the preferred (and better) choice of UDub and he gave a thumbs down. With Fisch at the helm, Duck dominance of the Huskies will continue where we left off in 2021.
  3. All the buzz now centers on Jedd Fisch. Fisch would would not only be on the A-list for the Huskies but Michigan as well if Harbaugh jumps to the NFL. Adding to the drama is whether coach would bring with him Fifita and T-Mac to whichever school he decides on.
  4. If a mid-tier coach like Deboer can lead the Huskies to the finals of the NC in his second year, who’s to say the new coach can’t pull off a rebuild in 2-3 years? KD hit gold with the portal (Penix, D Johnson). Success via the portal will be a key factor in revitalizing the dawg pound. Salvaging what’s left of the current recruits is key, among them is QB Jackson Kollock (class of ‘25), a late bloomer destined to be a 5* by end of next season.
  5. It’s official per UDub AD Troy Dannen. Team meeting set for 1:30pm. King County 911 dispatch is on full alert in anticipation of an incoming call from Softy Mahler’s residence.
  6. I’d like to thank Alabama for raising Dan Lanning’s (and UO football’s) stock higher than it already is. Great day to be a Duck!
  7. With Jericho Johnson’s presumed signing tomorrow, each of the position groups on the defensive side of the ball rate an A+. Light yourself another cigar, coach!
  8. It would be short-sided to think Novasad and Moga might be fretting over the 2nd coming of Dante Moore. Maybe he was thrown to the wolves too soon and as a result his confidence is shaken (thank you Chip). Fans are quick to blame the Bruin offensive line however they seemed to perform well once Garbers took the reins. The biggest red flag I see with Moore is lack of foot speed as evidenced with him being sacked 22 times over a period of just four games. College and pro QB’s must have escapability in this day and age and I see that as his biggest weakness. One of Bo’s best qualities is knowing when to exit the pocket, having the quickness to do so and buy extra time for receivers to get open. I anticipate more drama than one might expect in this spring’s competition for backup QB.
  9. With all the moving pieces happening related to QB’s, I’m hoping Novasad and Moga will stay for the long haul. Can’t say Moga isn’t motivated as he’s already in town ready to practice with the team during bowl prep. Pretty sure both, especially Moga with his 10.5 speed, are more elusive than Moore.
  10. Now that free agency has taken hold in CFB, the 4-5* backup QB quandary will be played out numerous times across the country. UW’s Sam Huard, rated higher than Thompson, saw the writing on the wall and made his exit earlier this year. As for how to groom the no. 2 QB, I like Jonathan Smith’s strategy for Aiden Chiles by giving him the third series of every game. These would be meaningful reps, potential pressure situations, the perfect test kitchen. Chiles is now a proven commodity and MSU fans are salivating.
  11. Frank could also be a beast at DE. Recall UW’s Reggie Rogers who started off in hoops before making the switch to football. He was a one man wrecking crew at DE (ask Chris Miller, who received a concussion from a vicious tackle from Rogers).
  12. Upset! Huskies men's basketball team beats 7th ranked Gonzaga in front of sell-out crowd KOMONEWS.COM The Gonzaga Bulldogs came into Alaska Airlines Arena having not lost to the Washington Huskies since 2005 and riding a 16-game win streak over Pac-12 teams. A l
  13. You nailed it, Canvas. Campbell a dog at recruiting and is credited with bringing in the likes of Ionescu, Sabally and Hebard who helped lead UO to the cusp of a national championship. His final contribution to the program, prior to his departure in 2021, was landing the nations no. 1 recruiting class in 2020. Sadly (and stunningly) none of the players from that class stayed beyond two years. The trajectory of the program has mirrored the recent lack of recruiting success. Barring the hire of another Campbell clone, I don’t see a turnaround anytime soon.
  14. Thompson is too much of an unknown for any P5 school to bring him in as their no. 1 QB. Would make more sense for him to put up eye popping numbers at a lower tier school (i.e Nevada Reno), then be courted by any number of majors for his sr season.
