  1. I disagree. People are not the same. In fact kids who than have kids don't always turn out like their parents and parent like them.
  2. Credit where credit is due.Cincinnati played to the end. The difference talent and dominating both lines. Bama in it again. They should have to have a handicap. This is getting boring.
  3. Shows what a great defense can do to a top offense.
  4. To think we would have only 4 starters on defense from the 1st 2 deep, missing all of our wideouts, our best blocking TE and our best RB on offense. No problem. Yeah right! With our youth, injuries and maybe peaking for game 2 against tOSU I can see what happened to the season. I can see MC being careful to not make mistakes. It didn't end up pretty. Been there done that. Now's a fresh start. Can't wait.
  5. TJ Bass is returning next year to the flock. This is a crucial cog on the offensive line; great recruiting by Coach Lanning and Klemm!
  6. Wonder how many freshmen are starting for either club?
  7. Thanks for the link. Now it depends on February and the portal.
  8. That's hard to do with today's kids. There's so many things, you need to be a psychologist.
  9. Charles it may have not been pretty but it was still successful. To me winning by a lot or winning by 1, it's the same (except for the heartburn). I cared about the other problems more. The lack of discipline, the lack of consistent readiness, the lack of explosive plays, etc. I was willing to see if he could fix those. A lot of people were not. That's ok. The way things turned out we will never know. I hope our new staff will answer those problems. We shall see.
  10. That's why CFB is great. Every year is new, every team starts out 0/0 and every fan base hopes their team will win a bowl opportunity or go undefeated and win the championship. Trouble is that out of some 120 schools the odds of that happening is very low. Their are a few schools who have the winning tradition, the recruits, the facilities, top coaches, administration support, boosters and lots of money. Hole lots of money. Then you have the visibility, desire to make it the NFL and being close to family and friends. That's why to so many it's an illusion. Because we have played for 2 ntnl championships, the backing of PK and others, great facilities, good to great coaches and really good recruits we have been able to get to level where we are expected to be in the conversation. And for the most part we have been. It's amazing considering the obstacles we do have. A bad league, small local and national footprint and 1 thing I don't have a clue. Hopefully we will find it in the coming years and get that 1st national championship. Glory days are coming. We just have to wait and see. When they talk about who's the best in the PAC it's us, USC and the Uskies (I can't even spit out the H). That's how I see it. Now they have to prove it. We have!
  11. I don't understand the part about culture. If a coach is perceived as not creating a family atmosphere with honesty, caring and integrity you will not have cohesion. If you don't walk the talk, lead by example have a vision but live in reality you will not have cohesion. If you don't understand how to motivate you will not have cohesion. If you can't do all these things that creates cohesion you will not have a team. Without being a team it's tough to win when the going gets tough no matter how much talent you are supposed to have. Look at USC. Nuf said.
  12. I know PK and the administration wanted him longer. They offered him a generous contract to stay and I would have been ok with it. I still believe the massive and key injuries hampered this last season greatly. No amount of coaching could have changed that. As far as new rules or not I don't believe you need to do that. As you stated you have enough to worry about. Things will work out where the discourse will change from the past to the present. I don't take offense when people get negative. It's their problem not mine. I will be there to present a different perspective when I feel it needs to be said. I do respect the rules u started this forum with. You state them right up front. It's each individuals responsibility to follow them. If they don't I wouldn't even read their response. Just have a prepared statement to send explaining that there are other sites they can post to if they can't follow the rules. End of story. No need for u to get emotionally involved. Y you have the power to take them off the site. That's how I would handle it. I wish I could help but am so inept in the using of my phone. Maybe if someone who could help me set it up it'd work out. I don't have any technical support around me to help. I learned what I do know by trial and error with many times ready to throw it outside I'm a hunt and pecker typist and very slow and constantly making errors. My phone is an old Android with limited memory to boot. Oh well enough about my problems.
  13. I agree with David. We as fans can show the rest of CFB what the Ducks are made of. CLASS. I remember when D Smith was playing for Dallas and was the best RB in the NFL. When asked why he didn't celebrate when he scored instead giving the ball to the refs he said he didn't need to. He new how good he was and didn't need to show any emotions and act like a pro. I think the quote was "act like you been there". I believe negatives impact on who we are every day. The more you see it and use it the more it becomes a part of you. That's why I avoid it as much as possible. Now that doesn't mean you can't give helpful criticism or have an opinion but I believe we can do it in a way that doesn't hurt ourselves. Do you think that MC gives a second thought to us calling him names or that we are upset with him. I don't think so. I don't think I would. What exactly did he do. He came here to further his career. We all have had that option for ourselves and many of us took them, some for better some for worse. As far as as his coaching style and staff they did what they thought was best for the players and team. That is what coaches do, some better some for worse. It all works out in the end. Yes we can look at the results be critical and have our opinion of it but we don't have to be negative or mean to them. They are people who are just like us, imperfect but deserving of common decency. Any way those are my thoughts on the subject. Take care everyone have a great New Year to you and to the Ducks. I wish the best for all of our old players and coaches and our current and future players and new coaches, there are new opportunities for the future. Go Ducks Fly High.
  14. Thanks for the post I believe it's going to be our new corners Bridges and Manning. They will be tested and will be up to the task. Go Ducks Fly High.
  15. I too have made comments that I didn't feel were negative. People are so different in the things they say and how they feel. As long as we try to understand each other, make amends when needed and be adults things will usually work out. Thanks to all of Duck fans who post, our moderators and Charles who has started something that is needed. A forum for all who want a place to enjoy not get angry. Happy New Year to you all. Game day is here and my juices are flowing. Just like our players, coaches and fans. Go Ducks Fly High and most importantly have some fun.
  16. Every team has a puncher chance on any given Sat in most of CFB. Go fly high Ducks
