NCAA Overturns Targeting Call on Buckeye Defender
Today, there would be a flag on this one. For something.

The Ultimate Humiliation Would be Losing to Washington
It's really unlikely that the loser of this game plays in a bowl game.

The Bend-But-Don’t-Break Defense is WORKING?
Yeah. it's tricky. While this D is not allowing explosive plays, it's not allowing nearly as many 3rd down conversions, so the other teams aren't having as many long drives. BBDB isn't a term I'd use to describe this defense.

Are College Referrees The Worst Ever in 2024?
Officiating has succumbed to what has taken college football to the road it now travels. It has become more than anything else, Entertainment, more like real life reality shows like "Survivor" than it was 40 years ago. The NCAA could have prevented a lot of this if they had dealt with growing contempt of the student athletes for everybody else getting rich at their expense, but the NCAA punted. Now it's NIL and the Transfer Portal. Officiating has always been problematic, and the technology now exacerbates it. Big screens in the stadiums, slow motion video on TV. As much as fans don't like the interruption of play by a video review, it's Must See TV.

Oregon: The Next Coaching Rehabilitation Center?
Trojans fans and Cal & Stanford fans are not all that different, nor are Lakers, Rams and Dodgers. Chargers and Clippers will always be step kids. All due respect to McKay and Robinson, at that time and same for Carroll, it didn't take a lot to recruit to USC. Carroll's coaching strategy was to get the ball to Reggie Bush. He did see the end coming and went to the NFL. Since then, not nearly enough W's to keep the front running LA fans interested. When the Trojans are The Show! the fans are there. They did make the right decision, picking Riley, Lanning wouldn't work at USC.

The Ultimate Humiliation Would be Losing to Washington
Gotta love the fans, more noise from a UW kennel: I'm still ticked that they scoured our incoming class and opened the checkbook to grab one of our best commits from us. This is nothing new though. They did the same with Muhammad and I'm sure this trend will continue unless the NCAA ever cracks down on them. NIL is not working as it was intended to. It's a free-for-all out there..... SMH.... yeah. They've been cheating for what.... about 20 years now.

SUC and Udud are both 4-4 and playing for bowl eligibility! SUC @ Udud Nebraska UCLA Notre Dame I see a possible win this week and against UCLA, so they do need the win. Udud USC @ Penn State UCLA @ Oregon They definitely need the W this week, UCLA is the only other W I see.

Michigan QB says "Bring 'Em On" about Oregon
"Definitely excited. Good. We like that. Bring 'em on, bring the No. 1 team in here. I know we can handle it. We're more than capable of taking these guys on. I just think it's a really exciting opportunity for us. I know we're going to attack it with the same way we attacked this week," said Warren. Rings True, Underrated and Underappreciated Quality of Oregon's Success
On the same day, there are articles about 2024 Oregon Ducks football being a "celebration of joy" and another about Oregon, "riding ruthlessness to the top of the conference", though diametrically opposed both are right on target.

Who Should Get COY, Cignetti, Lanning or Somebody Else?
This is where I am. Lanning is coaching like we've never seen at Oregon, created a completely new identity, got through the early games. Perhaps this is a low bar, completely outcoached Ryan Day. All this, and we also believe that he's managing the playbook, playing time, play clock to get max effort for the elongated season. Cignetti is doing a great job at Indiana. But the team he's coaching to 8-0, with 0 wins over a ranked team, is not the Indiana team that finished 3-9 last season.

Ryan Day's Seat is Getting HOT at Ohio State
That's very close to being an oxymoron.

Are College Referrees The Worst Ever in 2024?
This is a true difference between basketball and football. in the former, after a while coaches and players can see how a game is being called and adjust accordingly. In the latter, that can't be done, consistency in officiating doesn't exist. It isn't the, "they could call holding on every play". It is PI where the trouble exists. Offensive PI is hardly ever called to the degree that when it is it is immediately suspect. The more common defensive PI is judgement to the extreme and very inconsistent. Why are officials protected from accountability? This behind the scenes grading they go through has produced this.

B1G Time: Oregon Riding Ruthlessness to Top of Conference
I hate to give even the slightest amount of credit to the Oregon detractors during the "Blur" era. But, as exciting and close to winning a Natty. They weren't plowing through their opponents and dominating with their physicality. Mariota's teams were a speed boat that left the other teams in its wake. This Oregon team is a 16 wheeler playing chicken with Honda Civic's

Strength of Record, Strength of Schedule, and the B1G Race
Playoff scenarios can be like analyzing a Jackson Pollack painting. But I think OSU's 1 point loss would haunt them more than the 1 point win would haunt OBD.

Oregon: The Next Coaching Rehabilitation Center?
Definitely agree about Riley, Jerry Jones wants him or Prime to be the next coach of the Cowboys, they haven't won in a long time but are always a spectacle. Starting the Lanning coaching tree is a great sign of success. Eventually, Stein will move on, but no worries, Lanning's record is the next guy is even better. How about Jordan Davis from North Texas State? Jordan Davis joined the UNT Football staff in December 2022 as Offensive Coordinator and Wide Receivers coach. Davis coordinated one of the top offenses in the American and the nation in 2023. Under his leadership, North Texas boasted one of only four offenses nationally during the regular season to include a 3,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and a 1,000-yard receiver. UNT finished led the AAC and ranked No. 6 nationally in total offense (495.8), plus ranks of No. 12 in passing offense (304.7) and No. 21 in both rushing offense (191.2) and scoring (34.5).

NCAA Overturns Targeting Call on Buckeye Defender
The B1G definitely didn't want OSU undermanned, for the game @ Penn State, they can't do anything about the injuries to the OL, but a targeting call?

The Problem? Oregon is TOO DARN BORING!
I'll respectfully disagree. "The Lanning Rule" was the hot topic, and Lanning didn't need to do anything, it showed that he's always looking for an advantage.

Dan Mullen Cautions Duck Fans
You know, Jon, the consensus was that Wisconsin could be Oregon's waterloo. But your post here has changed my mind. Whether it's the 8th out of 8, or miserable weather, Michigan's roster is more hazardous than Wisconsin. Michigan might not be able to pass the ball effectively, but they're 5-3. Houston Rockets coach, Rudy T said, "Never underestimate the heart of a champion!" Michigan is the reigning champ. They haven't started the way they wanted. What they really want is a win that will set this season on a new trajectory. How about beating No.1

The Problem? Oregon is TOO DARN BORING!
Are we insane? That would be OBD going out doing the same thing and getting a different result. So, no, we aren't insane. We don't want a different result. Boring? I'll take it, over the adjectives that fit some other teams right now.
