It didn't. After the Blazers won the championship in '77 they started the next season, 50-10 before the injuries decimated the team. No team played better basketball than those Blazers, great passing, defense, before the 3 point shot.

Yes, Oregon and Colorado are tied for 4th now at 11-8, Colorado is at Utah tonight at 6:30 PT. WSU is 10-9. Tiebreakers could be needed, Oregon and Colorado split, and Oregon beat WSU in their first game.
