  1. Helfrich's career is thesis worthy. Altman, W's & L's is automatic, and the way he has managed to cobble teams together, peek at the right time, never a losing season at Oregon. How can he not be No.1? But, what Harter did with the Ducks was incredible. Mac Court wasn't. "The Pit" before he got there. The scoreboard didn't shake, the Lone Ranger wasn't at the games. Ronnie Lee is the all time scoring leader, in a slow down offense, without a 3 point line. No coach put more of a handprint on their teams culture, performance than Harter did with the Kamikaze Kids.
  2. The most impressive win for a Ducks team in a long time! It looked like they might have rally, but the Ducks don't fold, and go for the sweep tomorrow at 10:AM.
  3. That is exactly what Matt Muehlbach predicted at the end of "Basketball Postgame Report" last night.
  4. The greatest? That's hard. Altman is already has Hall Of Fame credentials. Back when Harter was coaching the Ducks, it was a lot harder to even get in the tournament. But the impact that Harter had at Oregon can not be overstated. He revolutionized they way basketball is played as much, if not more than did Chip in football. John Wooden hated the way Harter's teams played. Bruins didn't take charges, didn't dive for loose balls. UCLA was full out finesse and proud of it. If you came down the lane against Oregon you did it at your risk. If you kept doing it, you got an elbow in your neck. Chip was all about speed, Harter's teams played with no shot clock, sometimes to the extreme. By this time Wooden was gone from UCLA, but that didn't take anything away from the satisfaction of Oregon's 65-45 slow ball torture win at Pauley Pavilion. The Ducks got out to an 18-0 lead, then it was 20-2. Watching the Bruins chasing the ball, as the Ducks passed it around before getting a backdoor lay up was pure joy.
  5. It's going to be a VERY busy week: Monday Night: Men's Basketball Arizona at Oregon, 6:00 ESPN2 Wednesday: Women's Basketball Tournament Begins on Pac-12 Network, Lady Ducks might not have to play on Day 1 Men's Basketball: UCLA at Oregon, 6:00 ESPN2 Thursday-Friday Women's Basketball Tournament Continues Sunday: Men's Basketball: Oregon at Oregon State, 5:00 FS1
  6. Okay, the Pac-12 just doesn't make any sense, Utah just beat USC 71-61, outscored the Trojans 44-32 in the 2nd half.
  7. How right you are. I know that you, me and Duck fans everywhere were screaming in the first half when Omoruyi missed a bunny, got the rebound, but then missed again! It's truly mystifying and in close games, can be decisive, that players miss so many of these shots.
  8. The best part of the game of course was the highlights they showed at halftime of this guy.
  9. It was strange this time to see them not falling behind at he start of the game. The one thing that has been really impressive in the last two games, after the disaster against USC is the passing, particularly at the basket. It's the best I've seen at Oregon in years. This is due in part because Oregon hasn't had inside scorers like Omoruyi and Figueroa, but it is great to see. As is the great swarming defense!
  10. LJ Figueroa led the way with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 steals, as the Ducks scored the first points and never trailed in this one.
  11. Speculation is what we do in the off-season. In this article from rivals.com, two writers debate the future of Tyler Shough on his new team.
  12. Sammie Parker still holds a number of Oregon receiving records, and we will never forget this catch against Colorado in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl. This article from 247sports.com announces that Parker is going to be a recruiting assistant at WSU.
  13. It is a sign of reluctant respect. The Husky fans can't help themselves, the other coaches leave Ducks off the all conference teams. The Duck is the MOST known Mascot in the Pac-12 by a mile, and one of the most popular in the country. Lee Corso wouldn't answer if, whatever the Husky is called, knocked on his door.
  14. This article from 247sports.com makes the case that the rescheduling of postponed basketball games hurts the Bruins, and of course, REALLY helps the Ducks. You know, like how Washington, who didn't play a road game in the football season, and was the cause of their one road game, at Oregon to be canceled, was unfairly, denied the right to play in the conference championship game.
  15. Another de-commit from the Huskies from si.com From uwdagpound.com Oh well Both of these guys are just 3* recruits anyway and people were already bemoaning UW’s gloom and doom. With another small class for 2022, we will have two more openings for better players.
  16. In the last 30 years or so, shortstop has emerged as the premier position, in baseball and softball. The New York Yankees felt this way, to their detriment, when they kept an aging and reduced skilled Derek Jeter at shortstop and put A-Rod at third base. Baltimore and Cal Ripken weren't locked in to this, and Ripken ended his career at third base, It would be great if Brito could come even close to being the shortstop, Nikki Udria was for the Ducks.
  17. I'll have to disagree with the "What if" here. Oregon had the championship, and not only looking through green & yellow tinted lenses, in 2007, until their presumptive Heisman winning quarterback crumpled to the field in Arizona. Even winning the Heisman didn't make Dixon NFL caliber, Jonathan Stewart was. This was not a roster full of NFL talent.
  18. Stay Classy Huskies, NBC Sports Northwest has the details of the De-commit.
  19. I don't know if it was the case for everybody, but the Pac-12 Live Stream lived up to expectations discussed here and I missed about 3 innings. Fortunately the Ducks had scored their 6 runs already. This looks like a good team. don't know what kind of competition Seattle is, but the Ducks are 2-0!
