  1. There's no way to be hyperbolic over OBD this season, it's Joe Friday time, "Just the facts, Ma'am" The B1G did everything it could to trip them up, but it didn't work. The rest of the Newbies haven't acclimated as well, but they're doing the best they can.
  2. After some really deep thought and consideration on this, at least 6 seconds, if it's a close call, Tez doesn't get close to the field. As much fun as it would be to have him scorch the Mutts, he isn't needed. He will be later.
  3. Alex thanks, and in this great season, this 16-13 game, might have been the most impressive win of the season. It was all there for the Ducks to lose, 8th game in a row, at Wisconsin, who's coming off a Bye, no Tez, no Harper, no Burch, but the Ducks win anyway. This was the type of game that a lot of people still didn't think Oregon, the "finesse" team from the Pac-12 could win. There's no finesse with this Ducks team. The B1G schedule makers did them no favors, except giving OBD 2 weeks off to get rested and ready for 0-5 on the road UW.
  4. Just like the Ducks won a game on Saturday they would have lost before; it looked like De ja vu for the Chargers on Sunday Night Football. Big halftime lead, this time 27-6 instead of 27-0, but this time the Chargers didn't fold up, they won! Fun story about McConkey from Collinsworth during the game, "What's your 40 time?" Mc Conkey. "I'm 4.3". It has 4.39 0n the chart. "Yeah, just say 4.3, nobody cares about the 9 part." Collinsworth also talked about how much the Chargers culture has changed, Harbaugh, McConkey from Georgia, Dobbins from Ohio State, these guys win.
  5. 7-22 from 3, still not good, and 17 TO's is too many, but this is what the early season is for. A Ducks basketball team with depth is something we haven't had for a long time.
  6. You know, if you take away, pretty much everything that happened, I nailed it. Congrats, Mudslide!
  7. Very true. They occur throughout the game, but the one closest to the end is always magnified.
  8. Broncos lead Falcons, 31-6, 4 TD passes for Bo so far.
  9. This all sounds great, Charles! Deja starring everywhere and Supreme off to great start. By all accounts Troy is better than Portland State, so very good to see the Ducks coming out strong.
  10. That and 3rd & long is no longer where every Oregon opponent wants to be.
  11. Can't argue with any of that.
  12. Neither Bo or Justin were expected to have success in the NFL, where are ya, Todd McShay?
  13. Coach Fickell praised his defense for their impressive performance, particularly their pressure on Gabriel. “Our defense did a great job today—tackling, limiting big plays, and creating edge pressure,” Fickell noted. While Wisconsin’s defense kept them competitive, Fickell acknowledged their inability to close out the game in the fourth quarter, an ongoing issue that left them vulnerable to Oregon’s late-game tactics.
  14. Congrats to Dilly, Kansas, a basketball school has been decent at football for the first time since Gale Sayers was there & somebody has to win the Big 12.
  15. Don't know if it was by design. But I absolutely think the Ducks should defer and score on the opening possession of Q3 against the Huskies.
  16. I don't think it would be a punishment.
  17. Atticus Sappington, was a Beaver, now Always a Duck!
  18. “The Big 10 refs save Oregon with one of the worst chop block calls you are ever going to see,” @mattbegreatyt wrote. “Cost Wisconsin a 1st down and gives Oregon great field position.” After the controversial flag, Wisconsin had two more chances to drive and either tie the game or take the lead. Instead, the Oregon defense stood tall, forcing a turnover on downs and an interception to ice the game.
  19. Or because that will be the only top 25, 2nd with a winning record, let alone top 5, team Indiana will have played this season.
  20. Good point, though they did win. This weekend, at Ohio State, will be the first Top 25 team Indiana will play this season.
  21. Oregon's own, Jeff Tedford.
  22. Way back, the two Polls picked the Champ. That was replaced with the BCS, which gave us Miami vs Nebraska in 2001. Next, we got to have it decided on the field, with a committee, and the SEC Invitational, where the Champ didn't even have to play in their Conference's championship game. Now the Committee is tasked with picking 12 teams, and the criteria we can discern is that in the morning they see which teams won, without taking into account who they've played.
  23. I don't know what they're looking for. I really don't,” Smart said. “I wish they could really define the criteria. I wish they could do the eyeball test where they come down here and look at the people we're playing against and look at them. You can't see that stuff on TV, and so I don't know what they look for. But that's for somebody else to decide. I'm worried about our team.” There was an obvious argument that Georgia could and should have been ranked higher despite having two losses. The quality of those losses combined with a pair of very impressive wins by the Bulldogs this season made it pretty clear that they deserved a top 10 spot, and Smart pointed that out on Saturday night as well. “They're not in that environment,” Smart said. “They're not at Ole Miss in that environment, playing against that defense, which is top five in the country with one of the best pass rushers in the country, and they're fired up. They got a two-score lead, and they're coming every play. They don't know. They don't understand that.” Dale Zanine-Imagn Images
