  1. The NFL did have super teams, the Steelers won back to back Super Bowls in the 70's, the 49ers and Cowboys were dominant in the 80's and 90's, and of course the Patriots went from being fodder for the 85 Bears to becoming a dynasty. But the NFL is built for parity now. The Bengals weren't even in the Playoffs last season, this season they're in the Super Bowl. Every team, except perhaps Detroit, can legitimately believe they can make the Playoffs next season. Meanwhile with every conference in college only interested in itself, and getting TV deals, no such parity exists in college football. The Super League, with a commissioner and rules, is the only way for such parity in college football. Expanding the Playoffs would give more teams a chance, and open up fan interest, but the parity of teams won't exist like it does in the NFL.
  2. So far the Ducks are undefeated against the teams ahead of them on the Men's side. L's to Stanford and ASU. Losing to Colorado at home, after getting a 15 point lead in the 1st half? The Women's team has only the L on the road at 1st place, Stanford.
  3. Both the Men's and Women's teams had bumpy starts. But about two weeks ago, both turned the corner with some great wins and are set for an exciting run to end the season. Oregon Women Oregon is currently in second place, 6-1, behind 7-0 Stanford, their next game is at home against ASU, on Tuesday, no TV for this one, and then the re-match at Arizona, Friday. Oregon Men Orgon is in a tie for 4th Place, with Washington? Yes, the Huskies, who the Ducks just beat by 28 points, are both 6-3 in conference play. The next game for Washington is at Cal, 2-8. Meanwhile Oregon will try again to get a win at Colorado. Colorado, the team that ended Oregon's hot streak, lost their last game, at WSU, 70-43.
  4. This. It is what we saw with Georgia and Alabama. Too many times we see a player try to go for the Big hit, rather than wrapping up and bringing the ball carrier down. This can result in a spearing call or often a missed tackle completely. Pass defense too, as Charles mentioned in the Ohio State game. Our guy was burned, got lucky, and then talked trash? Ridiculous. I'd love to see a lock down corner, who eventually gets a rep so clear that no passes are even thrown in his direction anymore. Being happy as a team after you get a 3 and out is fine, or a big stop. But showboating on just making a tackle? Fundamentals aren't flashy, but they work.
  5. So, Oregon is hosting a Walk-On for players, Miami looks like it will need one for Coaches.
  6. Now Jordan James's announcement is really BIG
  7. Yes, and it's worrisome. But Burrows to Chase can be lethal. As far as picking games, this kind of betting is my limit, and I only pick the teams I want to win.
  8. Thank you. Yes, I remember that game, Double OT to thee Ohio State.
