Great example of where the portal can be your friend. David Marsh article was spot on, recruiting still trumps portal-picking but the portal if nothing else is a great way to build depth. Georgia has substituted a lot of quality guys on the DL since Smart's arrival in Athens. Dan Lanning followed his mentor. You assemble a quality group of DL guys in the Pac-12 and you are well ahead of the game.

Always the same bull. Just because they are LA and even Seattle. Prove it on the field boys until then it's nothing but pap.

I hope the spoiled children get schmeared! (At least, by the DUCKS!)

  3. I am stoked with the level of performance shown by this recruiting staff in just over a month.

If these guys develop players the way they seem to recruit, Oregon football has a bright future, indeed.

I'm already getting excited to see what they can do with a full year in the program.

Kenny Dillingham (OC) says Dan Lanning is the best X&Os guy he’s ever been around.

Dillingham says Oregon is THE program on the West Coast.

Dillingham: Wants a Pro-Style offense that plays fast. "We want 80 snaps a game and to be explosive." He talks about creating matchup advantages and getting players touches. His system built for playmakers who can win 1 on 1 matchups.

Dillingham: People think of Oregon as being a fast fun explosive offense, and we need to brand and sell that and use that.

"I was just in the south for 4-5 years and when they think of west coast football who do they think of? OREGON"

Riley can work  the portal for big uglies after spring ball.  That said how many years have passed since USC started the same QB all season?  They have a lot of injuries and all the depth transferred out.

They havea lot of injuries because their big ugliest fail at the one job they have:

    "PROTECT YOUR QUARTERBACK!"

  6. I think the high number of portal recruits USC is after are a sign Riley is attempting to "WIN Now" with players obtained by high grading other teams development process.

It remains to be seen if this is a truly viable avenue for long term success.

I'm a little surprised that, given the amount of time he has been in place with the new staff, that more concentrated effort was not on fresh recruits.

I don't pretend to be a talent evaluator but the measurables plus playing volleyball suggest more agility than many of the recent OL recruits under Mario.

The measurables tilt in Rogers’ favor. The football-volleyball athlete ran a 5.13 laser-timed 40-yard dash at a combine in Nevada last year. He has a squat max of 550 pounds and bench press max of 335. He has 11 reps at 225 pounds plus a vertical leap of 25.5 inches.

Can't wait to see him 'spike' a pass (or a qb) for the Ducks!
