Anybody else having trouble getting the link to the game to work? It goes to the right page but it appears the player they are using is having technical difficulty.
Wondering if it's just my browser or something. Safari has been having a lot of trouble with video lately.
Yes, the Safari browser is not the best at times. I also have "Google Chrome" and "Opera" as my backups for things like this. Its like having a backup QB to go to.

College football will always be about the "National Title".

Will be fun to watch

Interesting map.

This is a harbinger of just how good Ty Thompson is right now.........and is going to be after a few seasons.
You don't sky rocket up the rankings the way he did unless you are showing some elite skill sets coupled with size and ability to scramble and make big plays.
Here is my prediction: sans injury Ty Thompson, an incredible trio of WR's and a stout defense anchored by some incredible LB play take Oregon back to the playoffs in the 22 and/or 23 seasons.
Going to have to be patient for one more season though.......which won't be easy I am afraid.
I think you are correct, 2022 or 2023.

This was a fun game to watch. Lots of energy by the Ducks in this one.

You raise an interesting concept David but I wouldn't count USC out of the game just yet. We'll have to see how they are in the execution of their plan. We should know by game 4 of the season if we play USC or Utah in the Pac-12 championship game. I can't wait to find out.

Does Washington deserve to even be mentioned?
Don't forget Washington is only three people away from being a great contender, an HC, an OC and a DC.

How about a qualified AD from an SEC school ??

If you go back 50 years, Washington might have more wins.
Yes, Washington is a "use to be".

As long as they don't go into the losing "prevent defense", I'll be happy.

No, 10 in the country, but 5th place in the conference, right under No. 15 ASU in the country doesn't make a lot of sense. Except, it does show how, like basketball, Pac-12 softball is very deep and competitive.
Interesting

not good to see, hope Duck Territory is right.

IMO, its a "potential" ranking. Based a lot on hype.

I would like to see the rest of the Chargers team keep up with him.

Yes, the woman's basketball team looks kind of lost. Great players that just need to get organized and find there place.

Interesting link, 30Duck. Thanks

Reading articles about how TB went 7-9 in 2019, but the pieces were there for a good team...if they had good quarterbacking play. (No...GREAT quarterbacking play) It made me ponder how good Oregon could be this fall if we had an experienced, savvy QB running the show? Darron Thomas...don't you have another year of edibility? (Joking!)
But the pieces are there for a good team, and it can either be wasted with mediocre QB play or elevated with great QB play. It is a shame, but a reality that QB has a massive disproportionate impact on the entire team. Thoughts?

Kellen Moore at Boise State demonstrated this very well. Tampa Bay didn't make the playoffs two years ago, Brady shows up and they win the Super Bowl.
Look back at 2007, what Dixon was doing for the Ducks before his injury stopped an offense that no defense had been able to. We've also seen the opposite; all the quarterbacks who filled in for DD, Braxton Burmeister.
The quarterback battle going in to 2021 is going to be something we haven't seen for a long time at Oregon, and who emerges is going to have a lot of pressure on him to lead the team to, at the least, a 3-peat as Pac-12 champion.
All this of course beg's the question "Of all the QB's we have in the stable, do you think any of them are capable of that "GREAT quarterbacking play" that we want ??

IMO Frost is still trying to run the old Chip program from his days at Oregon and was so successful for him at UCF. Chip, at UCLA has moved on from those days.
It may be that Keanon Lowe wants more of the old Chip program.
My problem with Frost is that he is not an X's and O's innovator. He can however run an good offense that someone else has created.

While I know that sounds a bit hard to believe--next year Oregon will not have all the seniors returning or the caliber of players returning due to the MLB draft. The article below is superb in that it goes through the line-up to give us an update and who to watch for. Let's go Baseball Ducks!
Where the Oregon Baseball Roster Stands Heading into the 2021 Season by 247Sports
Is that the coolest photo ever? SAFE Baby!
With all respect, a new coach and a (hopefully) a turnaround season don't make a "This could be The Year". Unless of course you mean a "get out of the gutter year".

I really like reading Hythloday's work. Whether you agree or not with him, you can't say he isn't studied and doesn't have an well above average understanding of the game. Also his name is quite literally means "Peddler of nonsense" and I think is quite proud of that fact.
as for his article, I think he quite clearly demonstrates how Oregon's Defense will be different next year purely based off how DeRuyter blitzes/pressures QB's vs Avalos. I for one will be happy to see more than 4 men blitzing the QB at a time and think that was honestly a big gap in our defense the last two years. Add in that Thibodeaux, per DeRuyter will never be 4i Tech and we should still have an elite pass rush mixed with some strong talent on the outside.
A few questions:
1. Cal liked to play CB's on an Island, something that Leavitt(16-18) did in the past did but almost never done by Avalos(19-20) Despite us having the talent to do so. Will we see a return to that under DeRuyter?
2. I'm interested to see how LB shakes up under DeRuyter. I think ILB is fairly set with Sewell, ISM, Ju. Flowe, and Keith Brown, but olb sounds complicated and loaded at one of the two and note the other.
- Per Hyth, It sounds like you have a pass rush specialist in the Joker(Stud or whatever terminology you prefer) at this position I can name Thibodeaux, Adrian Jackson, Mase Funa, Andrew Faoliu, and new LB Brandon Buckner all seem to be good fits. Yet the other OLB he clarifies as an OLB as hybrid olb/Nickel(Except on obvious passing downs in which case a true Nickel is used in place). Does oregon have an OLB that fits this position? I think Adrian Jackson demonstrated some wheels this last season do you move him to get the start? Any thoughts
3. are we actually likely to see less Nickel as Hyth Predicts? 2 years ago(19) I thought DB was a strength, last season was just awful. I would love to see a DB lineup of Wright, Mckinley, Hill and James. It would allow our safeties of the bench to be Bennett williams and a freshman and when we do line up with Nickel, either Hill could move to that position as williams takes safety or Williams comes in at safety. Overall I don't think we have the Depth at Safety to run Nickel frequently, and we definitely shouldn't be running Dime...
4. With Jordon Scott gone, does Popo have the skills to take over full time as a true Nose Tackle?
You raise some interesting questions UtahDuck. I don't pretend to have the answers but it will be interesting to look for them during the season prep and in game play.

It'll be interesting to see how the careers of both those youngsters shake out and how they compare. For me the bigger worry is that if by some chance Thompson wins the starting role, we'd probably have at least two QBs transfer out. Cale Millen has already left, I would guess Tyler Shough and one other (Anthony Brown?)....leaving the QB room very shallow behind the starter. It has potential for that Braxton Burmeister scenario that we all dread.
You might be right about Shough and Brown transferring out but I think we would be ok. We have Butterfield whom I think could be better then Shough or Brown. If Thompson and Butterfield both get knocked out then it doesn't matter who QB's because the season is lost anyway.

Not much depth in the pitching game for the Ducks. The No. 1 and No. 2 look good but it ends there.
