  1. I would rather keep the PAC. This conference is one of the oldest if not the oldest in the country, party due to our isolation. Oregon and Oregon State are both founding members of the PAC or the earlier names of it. College football is all about tradition and though the new trend is to ditch it for the money I would rather keep a few things. I don't believe everything is sacred in the college football world but rivalries matter and rivalries don't form overnight but take years to form. I would say it has taken the last decade of playing Utah for there to be a rivalry building between Oregon and Utah. Oregon and USC hate each other for loads of reasons... By the way their fans are hilarious as they would like nothing more than to never play Oregon again. I would like to stay more local for conference games ... I wouldn't mind a few outside our traditional footprint but I know things are changing and what I care about most is that Oregon football survives.
  2. I feel confident at landing 3 with reclassifications. Four or five I won't know what to do with myself I'll be so shocked. But I do feel like it is possible.
  3. Now if we can get a quack it would be perfect. Right now I'm placing the over/under for five-star recruits this class at 2.5 (I feel Oregon could actually get 3) Who's taking the over?
  4. Conference championship games are here to stay for better or worse. 1 they make money by extending the season by an extra game and that game is between two good teams it is usually entertaining.... Or it's supposed to be anyways. A Failed Fan Experience: the Pac-12 Championship Anticlimax FISHDUCK.COM The expansion of the Pac-12 conference has not been to the benefit of fans. In my previous... 2 if teams want to make a playoff run they have to show off how good they are at every opportunity and an extra game gives that team the edge. It sounds pretty but a 13-0 team is more likely to make the playoff than a 12-0 team when both teams are conference champions. The Big-12 adopted a championship game because of those two reasons and they were determining their champion via a round robin and season winner. I would love to see round robin come back because it is far more interesting than divisions.
  5. These are the two overlords of college football. They have built themselves an incredibly lucrative media package and the biggest thing that could spoil it for them is getting other media companies involved and creating more competition.
  6. The post on the front page is too purple! I think Coach Boles deserves a better color!
  7. Welcome back Coach Boles... I look forward to your next article.
  8. We'll just have to keep watch... Moore is working on him as well but Young will want to have his own moment. Let's just hope this isn't just him messing with us. I don't think it is but people want their own moment and it to be theirs.
  9. Up close they do look like egg shells... But if you get any distance at all it does look like mud. Add in a grass stain like at the UCLA game last year and it looks like the Ducks just played in a muddy field which seems extra silly in southern California.
  10. We did bees! Well we did what I call the bumblebee look in 2014... I personally like these uniforms as far as black uniforms go for Oregon.
  11. Thanks Charles... This is the Moore commitment but I do feel Young is teasing us pretty hard and I think it may be genuine at the end of the day.
  12. Conference realignment takes a lot more time than we all think. We only see the big moves and announcements. But those take months of discussions to reach those points. We are all waiting on ND for better or worse right now.
  13. Getting a big is always important and star ratings are I think the most difficult to figure out for the majority of the big guys. There is one thing that can't be taught and that is raw physical size. So many of these big guys need to get to college and get the proper nutrition and weight training for them to really start to reach their potential. Some have it in high school but they are rare and those are the ones who are the five stars.
  14. I think it is the same uniform but the lighting is doing something to it make it look a little different color wise.
  15. It was over for the Ducks as soon as he announced his transfer to IMG for his senior year. In truth it was probably done before that anyways.
  16. And every other stadium on that list is at least double the size of Autzen. Fear the Duck! We all know USC already does.
  17. And they ran to the B1G... And let's see how well that works for them... And I'd Oregon follows them to continue to haunt them. Kinda funny how this school in the middle of nowhere Oregon is causing USC so many problems. But I think we all love it.
  18. Yes. They were let down by a rigid offensive scheme that made everyone worse. The running backs were running downhill into linemen... The offensive line had to block some incredibly obvious gaps which resulted in the defense loading the box. This resulted in minimal gains and both runningback and offensive linemen looking bad. And then the defense ... I don't know why it underperformed as bad as it did early in the 2021 season when the team was at it's healthiest. Too many underneath routes were left open which allowed for easy outs for the quarterback and didn't allow for the pass rush to get home. And I didn't even get started on a lack of good receivers for 2018-2019 for Herbert and then the growth of a receiver corp that did t have a QB to pass to them. Ughhh...
  19. Some strong hints that Young is next. This could be the best Oregon recruiting class ever....
  20. I was under the impression that the NBA was already looking at (re) expanding into Seattle. The sad thing is that if the Blazers were to leave Portland I'm not sure Portland would get another NBA team.
  21. This is big and now we also just gained a big recruiter for this class. I think our chances for some other big recruits just improved.
  22. true.. and that explains the second half of the year... but not really the first game. Granted this topic is probably a thread of its own.
  23. I believe he was constrained as well... But you would think with someobe like Cristobal who is all about physicality that it would have been a hard-nosed heavy blitzing defense designed around taking out the quarterback. Instead it was bend but don't break... Just seems weird to me.
  24. I'm also super confused why DeRuyter's defense was pretty pathetic last year. He has the history of being a pretty good DC and yet our defense was pretty poor. Avalos fielded a strong defense in 2019 and we'll 2020 was a super big mess with a mixture of lots of youth and vets leaving in drives both.expectabtly and unexpectedly. But 2021 should have seen auch stronger defense out the gate. Later in the year there were loads of injuries but game one and three (against Stoneybrook) were aweful... And it didn't get much better.
