  1. Makes us realize just how much we miss the GOAT and her partners in destruction Ruthy and Satou. I was hoping we would be able to carry on, but with the out of synch practices and schedules and everything else, this year is a learning experience. Next year they will be without Boley and Giomi and that will be the start of a totally new roster. Personally I think losing Boley is a blessing in disguise. She takes up so many minutes on the floor and sometimes the returns are next to nothing. More PT for the new kids. Kelly needs to bring in some big physical players as ours seem to get bumped out of the way far too often. Wonder how much they are hitting the weights? They look kinda weak and out of shape to me. Paopao is having a very frustrating season, but being asked to take over for the GOAT is a big bite to swallow.
  2. For the great gathering spot. It takes a lot of work I know and we appreciate it sir!
  3. I checked the score at halftime and she hadn't played at all according to the EsecPN boxscore. Can't imagine why they had it wrong. Seems KG has a problem with the ladies right now. Hopefully they figure it out and soon!! GO Ducks!!!
  4. A Hawaiian in frigid new england. What's not to like?
  5. On the off chance you're new to the state here are the, ahem, directions from Eugene to Corvallis. 1. Go North until you smell it. 2. Go West until you step in it.
  6. Serious question without being too offensive (yes, I meant to do that!) I hope. Has Cristobal hired someone who is a football game manager to help him? Someone who can get in his ear piece and prevent stupid time outs and situational decisions like punts and such? We all know he needs to improve on that for sure. That and let his O coordinator do his job without interference? I get it that his players love him and that he can recruit like no other so I'm hoping he matures on these other things soon.
  7. Absolutely agree on all points. Just confounds me how and why he didn't get a chance to play earlier. I just don't know how he didn't get a chance in games where Tyler was struggling. Another poor decision by the coaching staff? I agree next year (if it goes through as planned with the China virus and all) the schedule is kinda tough. I believe TT will be our starter by the start of conference play next year and we make it back to the CFP in 22 or 23.
  8. I would say it's a combination of the abysmal way the QB position was handled in the last 2 games, plus I think Shough saw that he wasn't as good as some other folks. I'd bet he winds up at a non power 5 school. Kinda like Bryan Bennett did. I wish him the best. Now lets get to the finding a quarterback that can take us to the CFP again! GO Ducks!!!
  9. Get back to me in a couple of years and we'll see if the product matches the hype.
  10. Add in that when we're content to clang 3's off the backboard and rim the ball takes weird, strong bounces which will "get on you" before you're ready, causing you to look uncoordinated at times. This is a young team searching for it's identity right now. I agree totally, KG needs to go to the inside-out where our shooters (?) can get the ball in spots where they are comfortable and in rhythm. Dugalic needs more minutes, especially when Boley pulls one of her no-show games like this one. Inside-out offense might just fix her problems...
  11. Well, if my Packers can't be there then I got the Kansas City Chiefs by 7.
  12. Wilner is a hater of the Ducks. Always has, always will. Hacks gonna hack. GO DUCKS!!!
  13. I have a hard time with that. Anyone who has that deer in the headlights look so much scares me. I guess time will tell...
  14. A bit more meaning to it than somebody just spelling Oregon backwards.
  15. I first met Pre in the summer on the side of the highway 42 west of Roseburg. I post under nogerO because Steve wore an Oregon track singlet inside out to protest the AAU and the letters showed through it easily as nogerO. I was riding my motorcycle and saw a blue car at a pull off area with the hood and the trunk up. Beautiful robin's egg blue, same color as my bike. I rolled in and asked the guy if he needed any help and he said no he was just changing clothes and resting for a bit. I introduced myself and he said "Hi Steve, I'm Steve too, Steve Prefontaine. I knew who he was and was surprised that he was smaller than I thought he would be. I visited him for a bit and then got back on my bike and continued on to the coast. A couple of years later I was living in Springfield in an apartment complex and one day I looked down in the parking lot by the pool and saw the Blue Falcon parked there. While I was standing by the railing on the second floor I was surprised to see Pre come out of my neighboring apartment. There were a couple girls living there and he knew one of them. We went on down to the pool (summer again) and Steve had a six pack of beer and we drank it and visited for a while. He did a couple of laps in the smallish pool and said "this swimming stuff wears me out" with that grin of his. A few weeks later I saw Pre getting out of the MG in the parking lot and yelled hi to him and said why did you buy that? My roommate had the same model and was having all kinds of problems with it. He said that he just felt he needed a more sporty car. I scolded him for getting rid of the Futura and we joked a bit about it. He said he was running in an event in North Carolina and it would be on Wide World of Sports. Back then they would film stuff during the week and show it on the weekend. He said when he got back he would give me a call and pick up a few beers and he would give me the "play by play" of the race. My brother was there and we were both amazed at all that went on in the race. Things that the layman would never notice, he pointed out. He got me to come over to Hayward field and compete in a javelin contest in one of the all-comers meets they held there. Met some of his friends, Mac and others. Great people. When I heard he passed I was in California and my first thought was- that damn MG! So tragic that a man with a heart and lungs like he had died of suffocation. To this day I have never been to that crash site. Just can't bring myself to do it. Interesting story about Pre that doesn't get much attention. He was a bit of an entrepeneur and always had something he wanted me to invest in. I remember one time he was talking about his family was thinking about buying Mazzi's Restaurant. There was always something. One time he said hey! I have something you need to get in on. What this time?, was my reply. Well me and some friends are going to buy BRS West and Bill (Bowerman) is going to design shoes. I'm going to test them and Phil (yes that Phil) is going to be the numbers guy. I said yeah, sure or something like that. A bit later Steve came by to say he was going to wear a pair of the shoes in a race that weekend and would I like to come watch him in the new shoes. Remember the waffle soles? Well long story short, one fell apart on the first lap I believe and the other was coming apart when he kicked it off. After the race I told him that I was going to pass on investing in his new company. Ground floor-Nike. I still have nightmares about that to this day. Hoping the wind is still blowing through your hair Steve, rest in peace. "To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift"- Steve Prefontaine
  16. I think the better question is will he finally let his offensive coordinator do his job without constant meddling with the play calls, especially on short chain situations? GO DUCKS!!!
  17. I've been saying for a while that Dugalic will be one of our starterssoon, and especially when we go big. Prince, Sabally and Dugalic will be tough to handle. Which brings up an interesting observation. What to do with Boley? Now just bear with me here. There is an interesting metric out there to assign numbers to a players' performance in games and I'd love to see hers as I'm sure it's probably not as good as some might think. She seems to go through lapses of concentration in some games. And yes I know she's got some issues with her back, but at this point in the season they all have nicks and dings. I didn't see us missing her that much against Washington, and to the contrary it allowed other players to get some playing time, especially Dugalic and our guards, especially Parrish. I really think at times she is just not contributing that much, especially when she's in one of her shooting funks. I know she improved her overall game but, it might be time for her to be the designated 6th person or man, if you will, off the bench. I get it that KG probably wants that senior leadership out there, but it might be time to let the players who will take us back to the final four get their lumps and confidence.. One of the players who impressed me was Giomi. She got some extra minutes and really turned them into highly productive numbers, and Dugalic continues to slowly, quietly be a steady force out there with her rebounding, shooting, passing and general toughness. I'm not dissing on EB, just trying to add some food for thought here. The future is certainly bright at Oregon... Again, just my $.02. GO DUCKS!!!
  18. We're all human and this was certainly a head scratcher for me as I finally got to watch it and kept saying to myself "what are you doing Kelly? Oh well, hopefully we all learn from our mistakes and I'm pretty sure KG has too. GO DUCKS!!!
  19. I feel exactly the same as you and I hope everyone here does too! Such a young team and sooooo much talent!
