  1. To put a bow, I'm not saying the calls were all right. Just that the errors weren't because of "corruption." And, if some of you want to feel put-upon by announcers, I can't change your minds. At any rate, how does National Champion Oregon Ducks sound? I could die a happy man. And Charles knows how close I've come before.
  2. Isn't that what this whole forum has been saying since Saturday? Are we any better? No, we're not. (We are, however, happier!) Go Ducks!
  3. ...but I officiated all three major sports, two of them professionally. I did it all without favor or extra regard for either team, calling the balls and strikes as I saw them, and to the best of my ability. Later, as a broadcaster, I called the games and gave honest opinions. I didn't favor either team, because it was hard enough work just keeping track of who made the tackle, entered the game, and left the contest. Still later, a journalist. Honest, hard-working, rinse, repeat. If I, a small-time schmuck, could do that, why is it hard to believe that the officials, announcers, et al. are as honest as they can be? Why must the narrative be they were as crooked as three dollar bills, out to get OBD at every turn? Bad calls will happen, but they can happen due to a mistake, a bad angle, or a bang-bang play. It doesn't have to be a conspiracy. Trust me, announcers care more about doing a good job and having a good show than some imagined grudge against OBD. Todd Blackledge has zero reason to be anti-OBD. Zero reason! OBD are big-time, folks! Let's be big-time fans. After all, we're Oregon fans, and they don't come any better in all the land. Probably a minority opinion, but I had to weigh in after reading since the game on Saturday. Go Ducks!
  4. "Having a beer at the oldest bar in Dublin (Ireland). Wearing an OSU hat and the bartender says he'll never forgive Ohio State for costing him 12k Euros when they lost to Oregon in '21. Ryan Day's tyranny knows no borders. Ryan Day is a tranny? That's the kind of hard-hitting news I come to FishDuck to see! (oh, did I read that wrong?)
  5. OSU 31-20 3 t.o. 3 sacks 288 passing yards (I'm never confident about these kinds of games the night before. I might feel different in the morning. LET'S HIT SOMEBODY!)
  6. OBD has been better than Washington over the decades. *Check* Better than them over the lifespan of recruits *Check*. But we haven't been better three times in a row, and that must end, or it will have become a pattern, just like it used to be. A good way for us to be better is to be great. But a better way for us to be better is for us to be great, for them to be average, and for that reality to be burned into the eyeballs of every good recruit and every top transfer portal player in the land! I root for the Huskies to lose to everyone, everywhere, and that includes that little team in Corvallis from that hand-me-down conference.
  7. You know this very topic gives me hives. Here's how it goes: "If Washington is really good we will look EVEN BETTER when we beat them." Then they scratch out a fluke win against our injured quarterback. Or they injure him themselves! And they get a bunch of national acclaim, and we spend a cold night in Shreveport. I'm having none of it! The Huskies MUST LOSE at every possible turn against every possible team. They must threaten to be worse than their 0-12 team and end up in the Big Sky. That is my wet dream!
  8. What? Is The BIG scheduling games to realize the biggest profit, without regard to the in-person experience or the viewer who wants to go to bed early? When has that ever happened before? To @DrHilarius, I wish I was within a two-hour drive of you. I would take those tickets off your hands so fast and yell myself hoarse at the game. Go Ducks!
  9. I wondered if someone here would think I really didn't know the name of that Canvas Story Told in Gray and Beige, I probably had more good, clean fun picking on WAZZU as anyone we played.
  10. ...or whatever they call that place up there. I can't decide what to think about the teams in the Pac??? Finally, I decided to root for San Jose State because it will wreck Husky Honk to think they lost to a team that loses to the Spartans. Great game, though.
  11. I want to see the newly engaged Mr Gabriel look calm and composed in the pocket and more like the QB I thought we were getting when we signed him. Also, running lanes.
  12. Tell you what. I'm usually Mr. I Don't Know if We're Good in these little contests, and maybe that is holding us down. I'm trying something new: Oregon 37-3 3 turns 4 sacks 311 passing yards. Time to go Powder River on some smelly Beavers.
  13. I would say we look like the 13th-ranked team in the nation. I hope we aren't the second-ranked team in the state a week from now.
  14. If the doctor said I should go to the hospital during this game I would have gone straight to the morgue. Good grief, fellas! Take some pride in your work.
  15. I am the same except no part of me wants to feel sorry for the pitiful Huskies and I want to kick them in their whiny Jerk faces. Other than that, what you said.
  16. And it is too cold this time of year to have cold cockles
  17. You know how to find me, friend. Maybe I will find some people in Mayberry who want a planned giving workshop and will pay your expenses to come. That is once I find Mayberry. Always our best, Fishy.
  18. I do believe, but I have to say that the last four losses being Washington, Oregon State, Washington, and Washington have shaken me to my core! CDL MUST get past Kalen DeBoer or wait for the latter to go to the NFL. I don't know if I have that many years left. But I do believe...
  19. I feel the same way about KD at ASU, clear down to being on the receiving end of a few sacks. Oh, except for the wishing him well part. (Yes, I am struggling to climb out above the clouds.)
  20. I was around in the 80's, but I refuse to waddle around in that mess. This team had the right stuff to make the playoffs, and they failed spectacularly. Then they had the right stuff to make the conference championship game and they failed miserably. I will watch the Holiday Bowl, unless a Yellowstone that I haven't seen is on. #tiredoflosingthebigones #tiredofcoacheswhobolt
  21. "Like Chip Kelly who came from New Hampshire, (his alma mater) to Oregon." Which is why, even with youthful flash since him, Chip is still my favorite all time Duck Head Coach. I am so tired of being a stepping stone. I want to do the stepping, on other teams' heads. I've been so heartsick since last Saturday night. I have laid in bed and wondered if this whole college football thing was worth it. I have my Giants, and I have my 49ers. Why do I subject myself to the annual torture of Oregon football? We get pretty good, even though we went 0-2 this year, and boom, some lying sack who drooled all over us when he got hired, jumps to a team facing sanctions. I agree 1000% with Mic. We need the next Chip Kelly!
  22. I read this week that his draft grade is as a 3-4th rounder. Good luck to him in any case.
  23. Utah 44 Oregon 17 1 turnover created 1 sack 181 passing yards
  24. I'll be there with you by next Wednesday/Thursday. Tonight it's hard to see much of a point to the rest of the regular season since the Rose Bowl has been so diminished. But, I'll get there. Not as high as I was this morning, but I'll be back up...in a diminished sort of way.
