Credit the O-Line for excellent play most of the game. We witnessed new combinations of players, different roles for Tight Ends, and other combinations. The OL has been formerly somewhat disappointing, but showed pomise and dominance against a physical BYU.

Additionally, the big boys inside on defense showed up and excelled at times.

Both lines did their jobs against BYU.

The running backs are running smarter under Locklyn than over the past 3 years. They look where they are running, follow blockers, and find daylight. No more blindly running to the called gap.

Don't forget an experienced O-line - it's the under-lying strength of this team, imo.

I agree that the experienced OL should be a huge (get it?) asset. Through the two early games I have not seen consistency, dominant play, and have seen costly penalties. I hope you are right and the line can control the trenches.

I don't know what you observed and how you felt while watching Oregon Football taking on the EWU Eagles last night. As much as I appreciated the players, I came away thrilled with the game plan and coaching adjustments this week.

Coach Dan Lanning was mic'd up during the game. At every cut-away to him during the game telecast we could hear Lanning coaching and encouraging players with only positive words and tones. How would you perform on the job with a boss like that?

This morning I further reflected on Lanning and the coaches. Do we fans support the coaches enough with our faith and encouragement? Could we do more, and how would that effect the future of Ducks football?

Yes, coaching the Ducks is a great gig. Prestige, good salaries, top athletes, being part of a great university and Athletic Department, the best facilities, infinitum.

Despite all of the "stuff", people value respect and recognition highly within the elements of job satisfaction measures.

The coaches and their families have made deep sacrifices for Oregon football.

Do we fans embrace and appreciate them, in the way that Dan Lanning values and communicates with his players?

It is an easy trap to fall into to quickly and sharply nit pick or criticize calls, decisions and coaching.

If we want the Ducks to win championships, and we want the coaches to gel and stay together at Oregon, we should support and praise them restraining our social media jabs, thus allowing them to develop and grow, wanting to be in Eugene with Our Beloved Ducks.

Former four-year Duck and USC transfer, Travis Dye, led the Trojans in rushing in yesterday's win over Stanford.

Dye rushed for 105 yards on 14 carries for a 7.5 ypc average, and one touchdown. He also caught one pass for 19 yards.

Travis is the gift that keeps on giving.

Pat Narduzzi, the Head Coach at Pitt, was quoted this week by Zach Ragan of AtoZ Sports .

Narduzzi said, "I think there are two things that are key to having a championship-level football team -- dominating the trenches and having great Quarterback development.

In the article Narduzzi is recognizing Hendon Hooker's improvements under Josh Huepel and quarterback whisperer, Joey Halzle.

Will head coaches in a few years make similar observations and compliments about QB development at Oregon?
