The coaches and player representatives are usually the main attraction of the media days. This year Commissioner Kliavakoff will have my attention more than the coaches or players. It is sad, but true that the governance of the conference, conference strategies, negotiations with other conferences and the negotiations for media rights make the coach and player conversations pale by comparison this year. Unfortuanately, we are unlikely to learn much about the big issues.

Joshua highlighted big game head-to-head match ups. Most fans forecast a 9 or 10 win season in 2022. Optimists like me hope for an amazing 12-win perfect regular season. Every game is critical to that objective. The Ducks have had winning years where they stumbled once or twice and lost games they were capable of winning. Don't hold your breath, but wouldn't it be fun to watch the 2022 Ducks run the table? Go Ducks!

I think we'll be OK Darren, as the Ducks will light it up, and play defense too.

Ok, but I'm grateful and happy to have Dillingham. I hope that he stays at Oregon for five years or more.

As Ducks fans, we should remember that Chip's offense and coaching elevated Oregon football to the national stage and title contention. Kelly is 58 years-old now. At the end of last season he was recognized with a two-year contract extension after reportedly surviving limbo. Chip Kelly's aledged disdain for recruiting and internal athletic department and university politics may prevent him landing a head coaching role at a top football program. Kelly is a coach by nature and vocation. I can imagine him finishing his career coaching at a lower ranked program or mid-major in a geography and situation he chooses. Another landing spot might be as an offensive coordinator for a title contending program. Or, Chip is an independent soul who marches to his own drummer. He has varied interests and long-time friends. Following his UCLA run he may simply walk away from football to pursue life in another realm.

No pressure on Coach Dilly. With a room full of loaded guns, and a top defense too, why worry? Coaching is what he does. My take is this will be the funnest year of his life -- until next year! Go Ducks.

Okay, so I'm an old guy... but I remember Oregon in conferences; Pacific Coast Conference (PCC), Independent from 1959-1963, PAC-8, PAC-10, and the PAC-12. The PAC-0 could be a new experience altogether. Embrace the change. Who knows? You/We might like it.

Not so fast. The NBA has its G League. As college football spins ever closer to pay for play professionalism, Alabama and Georgia could lead the way into the NFL's coming "F" league.

"Ultimately, the Big Ten is the best home for USC and Trojan athletics as we move into the new world of collegiate sports," USC athletic director Mike Bohn said in a statement. "We are excited that our values align with the league's member institutions. We also will benefit from the stability and strength of the conference; the athletic caliber of Big Ten institutions; the increased visibility, exposure, and resources the conference will bring our student-athletes and programs; and the ability to expand engagement with our passionate alumni nationwide." USC's purported "values" are on open display for all to see.
