  1. I do not discount your concerns based upon the facts, but in my case--I have a belief that at the end of the season and in the Playoffs--Oregon will make the plays on offense when they are needed. Again, I do not believe we have seen much of the offense, compared to what is to come. By contrast, I recall how Dilly completely blew up Stanford early in the 2022 season with a new play series and constraints. I do not believe we would see the same kind of thing this year until later in the season, and that absence skews the stats. Or I can just believe....
  2. Drake..,that is an interesting observation about human nature; we’re never happy. We can be 7-0, defeated a No. 2 team, and STILL not be happy. I remember it during the Chip Kelly days as well, that people were nitpicking about different items. They felt could be better in 2010 when we were on a national championship game appearance path. ”We’re not taking any time off the clock!” I am not saying this to project superiority, because I am just as guilty of it at times as everybody. This is just the way it is… but it is fascinating!
  3. The difference is, I gave reasons why, and how it all makes sense within Dan Lanning’s plan. So not scoring as much is by design, and a good thing, and not something for us to be concerned about yet. If I sensed we genuinely had a problem, I would say so. But after tracking our offenses for a dozen years, I can see a very distinct pattern that is different from prior years, and different from last year with the same offensive coordinator. Or we can disagree. No sweat.
  4. Please read... Oregon’s Secret That Nobody Talks About... | FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM There has been so much written about Oregon football in the last couple of days, yet I sense there is a major element to the remainder of the season that…
  5. From an article last week on 247: "Jahlil Florence is also a candidate to potentially use this season as a redshirt, but still play. That would mean getting Florence on the field in November for four games and whatever comes after that. Remember, players can redshirt, play in four regular season games, and then be available for playoffs or conference title games. Theoretically, Florence could end up playing in nine games for Oregon and still redshirt." Pretty wild!
  6. Spending 13% of the athletic budget on an oversized novelty chainsaw just to lose to UNLV on homecoming? The state of Nevada OWNS Beavis...

  8. It is incredible what he has done in just 2.5 seasons as our coach. It feels like...
  9. In this instance....your point about how far we have to go is true, but being No. 1 does have meaning for the fans, the recruits and national awareness. To have that coverage for another 5-6 weeks would be nice!
  10. I love that label you coined. So descriptive and perfect!
  11. That so warms my heart, as the reason I created this forum is because of the absence of rational discussion in other places. Just this morning a moderator caught a political comment immediately and hid it from view. It is SO NICE to read posts without any thought of having to screen for politics, or nastiness between people. Although, one thing I've learned is that nice discussion comes from NICE PEOPLE. This is a special community, and I so appreciate you and everyone who posts their thoughts.
  12. But the Comcast problem is over, so we can easily watch it there when it happens. No sweat.
  13. For those who did not see this in another thread...it is from the Trojan Wire site where they are wringing their hands... ---------------------------------------- "Meanwhile, USC’s Western competitor, the Oregon football machine, is now No. 1 in the poll. It’s a worst-case scenario for USC football under Lincoln Riley."

  15. Another benefit to the B1G that Oregon is in the conference? For the first time in NINE years....the B1G has a team ranked as No.1 during the regular season. This has not happened since Ohio State was back in 2015, thanks to the information provided from The Athletic. This is going to be a very successful relationship for both parties...
  16. The longer we are No. 1, the easier it is to retain the recruits who have verballed to Oregon. Pretty cool for them to say that they are committed to the No. 1 team in the nation, and that builds pride for them and a sense of ownership in the program. This is important because we have some top players who while verballed....are still taking other trips. Not good. The top-spot ranking helps a ton in those cases. I don't think Dan is going to deviate from his plan to slowly roll-out the offense and defense in order to "win-bigger" to retain the top spot. Right now just winning is what matters, as the B1G Championship is going to be a pretty tough game...
