  1. The "word replacement" software struck again...you were meaning to use the "G" word in a good way, but unfortunately the vast majority of the time people do take the Lord's name in vain here. Thus I have it programmed to pop in the "Good Gosh" instead of the "G" word, and usually it works out for the best. The software has a few errors like this, but for the most part--it saves me a ton of emails and time. (And I always suggest that people check their post after publishing it. Everyone has up to an hour to go in and edit their own post) Thanks for the kind thoughts, and your patience with this software.
  2. See her message to all of us on June 11th in post No. 52! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new report on June 8th from Pennsylvania Duck in post No. 49! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- June 3rd Update in post No. 42 from Pennsylvania Duck! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 30th Update: See the post near the bottom of the thread (No. 39) to us all from Pennsylvania Duck! ----------------------------------------------------- Update on May 21st: She has been in the hospital on IVs since Wednesday for a virial/bacteria infection that won't back down. Keep her in your prayers for healing and thoughts! ----------------------------------------------------- You may have noticed that Pennsylvania Duck...who posts TONS of articles every day--has not posted in a while. She and her husband got COVID, and they have a very extreme version of it. It has been almost two weeks, and she is still a long ways from recovery. She had days of 102 degree temperature and even got fever blisters on her mouth...wow. She gets better one day, then the next is as bad as before. As she said to me when we spoke of the strain of COVID she has...."whatever it is, it's bad. I feel like death warmed over." I told her that we love and miss her, hope and pray for her healing. She has approved this post in advance, and wants you all to know she did not just fly away from this wonderful pond. She did not sound good on the phone just now, and I am very, very concerned for her. For those inclined--offer a prayer of healing for her and her husband. For others--keep them in your thoughts. I can tell you that she is a HUGE Oregon fan, and a fantastic person with a big heart. And thanks so much for NJDuck, who is filling in for her as best as possible.
  3. Something that punters have in common with quarterbacks? Lots have the arm/leg strength, but the difference is accuracy. His punting average is not as important as to NOT punt out of the end zone as I saw WAY too many times the last number of years. I would shout at the TV...."don't blast it out of the end-zone bonehead!" Then he would. A net of 20-25 yards on the punt is all. Just three touchbacks in a season? This could be a real weapon for our defense, as it puts pressure on an opposing offense when they start at their ten yard line. It is harder to travel the entire field to score, thus an accurate punter can lower the points allowed this year by our defense. Josh Bidwell was good with accurate, high-hangers...
  4. As I think about it...Oregon generally has three wide receivers on the field in formation at a time, and we have two very experienced wide-outs returning in Troy Franklin and Kris Hutson who assume they will be starting. Yet we brought in three experienced, stud receivers in Traeshon Holden, Tez Johnson and Gary Bryant? Three spots for five guys? Man....Lanning is stacking talent! Bryant would have led all our receivers in 2021? Whew!
  5. What I love about the new portal transfers brought in at receiver--they are proven and experienced, and while Jurrion Dickey seems to be a "can't-miss," he has not done it yet on a collegiate field. Ditto with most of our young receiving corps. It takes them a year or so to get up to speed, while these transfers in Tez, Holden and Bryant can step right in. Huge difference. Oregon is the the type of team that while rebuilding--will use the portal extensively. Once Danno has a couple a stud HS classes stacked up--the need for transfers will be less. The exodus of whoever is not playing will remain, but I suspect we will have our studs in-house by that time. Fun read, thanks Alex!
  6. You make great points, and I am resigned to it eventually, but it will be easier to make the Playoffs in the Pac-12....and that extra money and exposure might just make up for the loss of the B1G revenue. It may not work out as planned...
  7. Wow, just wow. Make that SEVEN experienced offensive linemen for this upcoming scoring barrage... 6'3" 325 lbs.? Whew!
  8. Boy you have come to the right place; not for help, but a community that loves to be over-the-top in our love for Our Beloved Ducks. What I enjoy the most about your post is that you have done what I have done often in the past; put myself out there on a limb....happily. If we end up wrong later? So what. It was out of love for OBD, and due to our excitement. The MOST talented squad ever? Boy....beating the 2010, 2012 (with DAT) and 2014 is hard to overcome, but you make some excellent points. I am in the group that feels that "this is one of our best offensive groups ever." We will not have such a savvy, experienced QB at the helm again like this for years, and the experience on offense at all positions is impressive. Throw in the "Bird-Bomb" offense of Will Stein that opens up the mid-range crossing/short routes, and we have a nasty passing attack at the ready. But it will be built on a great running game from six experienced offensive linemen, (now a seventh with the portal transfer announcement today) three experienced TEs and a running back stable that could be the deepest ever at Oregon. Thanks....just thanks for getting me juiced on a Monday morning!
  9. While I've been quacking about how Lanning has upgraded the roster--it sure appears that a ton of other teams have done as well or better. I am surprised at how well the damn Huskies did in upgrading.
  10. You gotta love how sites/journalists are able to spin an article from information known for months, along with analysis that every functioning Pac-12 fan has long already arrived at.
  11. Incredible! When building the quality depth as Coach Lanning is, he has viable solutions for all challenges. When a player won’t follow directions or showboats, (I’m looking at you Dontae Manning) Tosh would have great options without a drop off in talent. Big step up on defense coming!
  12. We don’t post articles that require a subscription. If you could summarize it for everyone?
  13. The Women have a real chance of making some noise here. They do not have to face a top seed at home, and No. 11 is quite beatable for OBD. What gets interesting is that if Oregon should win the regional--they would face the winner of the Oklahoma State No. 6 regional, and that OSU is on a 3-11 skid ending the season. (They started 18-1) Should they be upset and the Ducks win....could a Super-Regional come to Eugene? The table is set for Coach Lombardi--go for it!
  14. Some big holes in the defensive line coming up with the majority being seniors. And yet there are ELEVEN edge rushers for one position? We need four there, five at most. Thus some real fall-out will happen over the next year since the majority are freshmen. Recruit like heck, and then find out who is the best.
  15. Why did Bryant leave USC? Especially with such a great first season in 2021? (Decided early in 2022 to transfer out) Lincoln Riley brought his receivers from Oklahoma over, and with the star transfer from Pitt, (Addison)....Riley wanted to play "his" guys, and Bryant felt he was passed over regardless of production. Perfect scenario for a good transfer.
  16. Nice short video of his highlights, and he has speed and excellent body control. Good one!
  17. I thought Samie Parker was fast, but Pleasant has beaten all his CA records. Whew!
  18. Lanning has been killing-it in the portal! Without the portal transfers on both sides of the ball, this team next year would be good, but with all of these transfers… This team has the chance to be great.
  19. Between him and the transfer from Ole Miss...there is both some near term TE relief and upside. Good one!
  20. It still blows me away that the number is 90M for our entire conference, yet each one of the B1G members are going to get 40M to start and working up to 70M? Rutgers, Northwestern, Illinois, Maryland, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue....those seven teams deserve more than Oregon?
  21. This is terrible on so many levels. Confirmation from other sources of Arizona/Colorado leaving in June? A contract well below the Big-12? You just don't see some of these things coming...
  22. This component to me, is the elephant trumpeting in the room...and nobody is hearing it. A team that is 10-2 in the Pac-12/Big-12 could end up being 6-6 in a Super Conference by losing a ton of close games by one play...yet still be a great team. Is that really better? How long will the fans love that?
  23. I figured it would get reported anyway, so here goes... (Please ignore the source, as you can find it on other outlets I'm sure) Family of late Oregon football player raises 'doubts' over paternity claim, girlfriend fires back WWW.FOXNEWS.COM The family of Oregon football player Spencer Webb is disputing the paternity of a child who a social media influencer says belongs to the late college football star.
