  1. This is the 23rd verbal for the 2024 class which is now the 3rd best ever class at Oregon. (Lanning had the No. 2 class last year with 16 of the 4/5-Star players on Rivals) Platt makes the 15th player who is 4 or 5-Stars on Rivals, with a long ways to go before December signing date. Will Lanning pass the all-time record of 19? This moves the Ducks up to No. 7 in the nation at Rivals. Whew! 2024 Oregon Ducks football commitment list OREGON.RIVALS.COM The definitive source for all Oregon news.
  2. What is amazing is that we had a real idiot, a bonehead of a writer at FishDuck who actually interviewed Ken Goe in the past! So What HAPPENED to Oregon Track? FISHDUCK.COM Charles Fischer of FishDuck.com interviews Ken Goe of OregonLive to discuss what happened to Oregon Track and Field this past year and what the future holds.
  3. Right. I'm up in the stands watching a game, and yet I'm supposed to keep track of where the offensive coordinator is? I stated in the top post that I learned this from watching the game replay, and no--they did not show him on the sideline after that...so how would I know?
  4. Accusing us of cheating? Do they ever...
  5. How would I know any of that?
  6. Good gosh, I forgot all about it! Sorry for the delay as LB48 wins with his 70-10 prediction that was much closer than than most of us! Congrats, and let's have fun with this again on Saturday morning!
  7. Thank you. It is not foolproof, but it is telling the vast majority of the time when applied to players, coaches, and my experiences in the work-world. The other part of it that is equally crucial to me? When Weakness Emerges Early--it never turns into Greatness. You put a ton of time into this person to elevate this person to just average, or below average. Better to put the time into finding a winner who performs out of the gate.
  8. As if we did not have enough surprises from Stein: 1. Recruited three 4-Star QBs already. 2. Unleashed an offensive titan with tons of weapons. 3. Revealed a new Ty Thompson--so very welcome. 4. Calls plays from the sideline. What else has he got up his sleeve? Another great hire by Lanning?
  9. Agreed. What we saw from Ty is unlike anything compared to the last two years, and it was startling. When you consider how Stein has recruited three 4-Star QBs before he had even called a play for us, the offense we saw, and now the improvement in Ty? Will Stein be the best OC ever at Oregon? "Greatness and Weakness Emerge Early," and thus I love what we have seen thus far!
  10. Seeing the stats lined up like that makes the game that much more impressive. Probably the biggest impression most of us received were all the weapons Oregon has on offense--more than we thought and Coach Stein is using them! Thanks Jordan.
  11. That is the one I skipped. Thanks for the heads-up. As for the Beavers....
  12. I can't make this up... Too funny!
  13. I've been a good sport reading John Canzano, as I would read his takes on Oregon, the conference, and would hold my nose and read his columns on Oregon State. But now his OSU articles come to my inbox, and I am just "meh" about them. Part of it is their petty, immature blaming of Oregon for their mess, but part of it also is....they are a future Mountain West team. I have as much interest in that as I do in Utah State, San Jose State, etc. I am just not interested in what those in orange are into...
  14. Right. A bunch of offensive analysts, but still--it is harder on the field. When you have a newbie QB--I get it. But with Bo?
  15. After watching the game, I just about choked when I saw him on the sideline in a huddle with the offense. He’s not up in the booth! Can you really see everything and plan it best that way? I recognize they all have their own style, but this was a pretty big surprise to me. In the end, it’s all about results, and if that’s the way, he wants to do it…
  16. Our fellow Duck-Buddy, Jon Joseph, pointed out in another thread the low scoring and boring offenses of the B1G this last weekend. What if....?? Oregon and USC come into that conference and simply outscores everyone, and leads the damn thing from the get-go? How would that go over in the Midwest? (Would Fox heads explode?) Fun to Ponder? Not if you are in the B1G!
  17. "The Ducks played an outsized role in blowing up the Pac-12 Conference a month ago by fleeing for the Big Ten. The abrupt move, jointly made by Oregon and Washington, was a grab for more prestige and television money at the expense of a century of tradition and West Coast collegiality." Sounds like another lamenting loser blaming Oregon for the Beavers demise. Nothing about Oregon State management over the years, nothing about how their lack of brand and following is THEIR fault? "If you don't sit at the table....then you will be on the menu."
  18. Again...we have been discussing this for the past year. First, it is being hinted that Autzen will be upgraded in the near future to handle more seating, and that if donated by private donors and from the season ticket holders like myself--(charged 1,500 last time) that extra revenue for the athletic department will come from the B1G connection, and thus we would have the seating to handle big Penn State, Michigan, Ohio State fan bases. And to repeat; this is not about stadium size when discussing the media contracts, Mic. These are two different things, and the primary driver of TV is actual eyeballs on the set and Oregon is one of the best at attracting those eyeballs. Come 2024....our audience will REALLY grow with all the B1G fans who are curious and want to watch/scout Oregon on TV. This forum will also have many new members from B1G teams who will be very welcome, if they are anything like the good people we have had here already. The Big-12 people wore out their welcome, and many were banned...
  19. He doesn’t like it if we score 81 points, but if we scored 41 points, then he would be writing about how Oregon is not as good as we hoped, how we really miss Dillingham, how we need a head coach, who is not so defensive, minded, etc. etc. Right?
  20. Yep, and when the truth emerges of how good Oregon is....they will claim they, "knew it all along."
  21. FishDuck has the answers as to "why?" Article later this week...
  22. My Duck-Buddies....could you believe all the fast-twitch talent out there? As I've been touting....the nation is going to wake up to how well Dan Lanning recruited from the portal, as they have transformed this team. On one defensive series in the third quarter that went 3-and-out for the Vikings...all three downs had great plays by transfers at defensive back; Tysheem Johnson, Nikko Reed, and Khyree Jackson. Studs...studs! Goodness...could you believe how both Tez Johnson and Gary Bryant Jr. just oozed speed, fast-twitch and the excitement that comes with wondering...."is he going to pop-it this play?" We have some really fun games ahead of us! The pass-deflection by freshman Daylen Austin was a "whoa" moment for me, as it was an incredible play. Remember what I say about "Greatness and Weakness Emerge Early?" Pathetic Pundits Don't you just shake your head at some of the revisionist spin you see from some media pundits? They are writing now..."there were not any questions about the offense going into this season." Say what? I remember most of them, and a ton of people on this forum bemoaning about how we did not know Will Stein, had questions about him, and had real questions about replacing four starters on the offensive line. I am not always right, but I nailed this in advance as you all know. I knew we had actually more starting snaps from this new group than we had last year going into the season. (ProFootballFocus Stats) And between Coach Boles and I....there was a ton of confidence in Will Stein, and while the playbook was not opened much--I did see some innovative stuff already. At times, entertainment for me comes from the media as well as from the football field. Mr. FishDuck
  23. At the game--he appeared to have confidence and some Mo-Jo, unlike prior years. I look forward to watching the telecast today to look for on-field "presence," as this goes a long way. Oregon QBs throw for 86% completions?
  24. So, Oregon will lose a top-25 team off their schedule before playing them, (Texas Tech) but pick up one that will replace it in Colorado.
