  1. To me, it is completely obvious. We don't go three and out on so many in the beginning with him there. Without him--everything changes. Perhaps next year you will see what I mean, but I am sure most everyone in the forum will forget this discussion. So we disagree--no sweat.
  2. Everything you needed to know about both teams.... Start the discussion, and Go B1G!
  3. We will disagree. All Dillon needed was 2.4 seconds to throw a lofter, and let Stewart come down with it or the penalty. I will agree that Chip Kelly out-schemed us, I believe we could have stayed in scoring reach with Stewart. The difference is beyond immeasurable. Stewart threatens deep, mid-range opens up for Tez, and osu2 can't crowd the short zones. Match scoring, and we still have a running game....which also changes the defensive line surge and the game. You can't take away the most consequential former 5-Star, (who runs in the 4.30s) and not have any difference. And he can get open on the best of their corners on shorter routes..
  4. All the tools are right here on this site. Up at the top of the front page is "Repository" and you can click on the ChileDuck Depth Chart to see who is there as former starter and the depth behind him. We have tons of articles with updates in the threads dedicated to recruiting and transfer portal signees and those we are pursuing. To find the thread in a flash...just click on "News" above and a page opens where you can scroll down and click on the link that takes you directly to the thread you want. All this....provided by wonderful volunteers. God Love Them. Finally, the answer is....we don't know yet until the portal signings are done. We will have much fewer portal transfers this year than last, with the gradual shift to HS recruits who have come up in the program as the recruiting classes are getting to maturity.
  5. You are thinking of the Mountain West, as they added Northern Illinois as a member, not the Scrap-12.
  6. You heard the latest? Beavis out-bid Auburn and Kentucky for the Duke QB transfer, and paid him 1.5 million for next year? Then spent another half-million on two tight ends? Canzano justifies it as "stepping up" as they work to build a competitive team with money....and they estimate it will take 5 million of new funds every year for transfers and recruits to build a competitive roster. Wasn't Oregon EVIL for being the school of money--in their view? Where is Beavis getting this money from? They have their own NIL collective, but I have to think that some money stolen from the ten who left the Pac-12 had to help. So they become NIL bidders--like the people they condemned in the past. And they condemned those who left the conference for more money, and they proceed to destroy another conference (Mountain West) with stolen money, and do so for more money. So Beavis, you've adopted Oregon's method now? Hypocrisy fits you well...
  7. I have to admit...after last year, and all the women transferring out--this season has gone much better thus far than I thought it would. Good for them! --------------------------------------- Kelly’s Game-Winner Lifts Ducks at Penn State UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Road wins in the Big Ten are hard to come by, especially ones that take place over 2,000 miles from home. The Oregon women’s basketball team withstood Penn State’s second-half comeback bid, as Deja Kelly knocked down the go-ahead jumper with 4.1 seconds on the clock to give the Ducks a 63-61 win Thursday at Bryce Jordan Center. The Ducks (12-4, 3-2) led by as many as 17 points in the second half, only to see Penn State rally furiously to tie the score at 61 with 1:40 to play. With the score still sitting at 61-61 in the final minute, Kelly isolated her defender and used a Phillipina Kyei screen to get an open pull-up jumper at the free throw line. “That’s one of the reasons we brought Deja in, to make those kind of big shots, and she did it,” said UO head coach Kelly Graves. Her jumper fell with 4.1 second left and then the UO defense swarmed the Nittany Lions on the other end, not giving PSU a decent look at its game-winning 3-point attempt at the buzzer. “We wanted to run a little weave action and get the ball to Deja, and just a side ball screen up in the slot,” Graves said of the winning play. “She (was able to) create some separation and take the shot.” Kelly led the Ducks with 15 points, leading three starters in double figures. Kyei added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Nani Falatea scored all 10 of her points in the second half on 4-of-6 shooting. UO’s defense forced 24 turnovers behind 11 steals, helping the Ducks to 21 points off turnovers. Oregon shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half, shooting 75 percent in the third quarter (9-for-12) but just 25 percent in the final period (3-for-12). How It Happened: The Ducks scored the first four points of the game in opening an early 12-2 lead, with six points coming from Amina Muhammad in that span, forcing an early Penn State timeout. Oregon connected on four of its first six field goals, with three coming from Muhammad. Muhammad and Sarah Rambus each dropped six points in the quarter to stake UO to a 20-14 lead after 10 minutes. Oregon forced seven PSU turnovers in the quarter while not committing a single turnover, resulting in a 6-0 edge in points off turnovers. An eight-point Duck run pushed the lead to 15 in the second quarter, 31-16, but the Nittany Lions scored the next nine to trim the deficit to six before a Kelly triple stopped the run. Penn State finished the half by scoring 11 of the final 14 points, with the Ducks taking a 34-27 lead into the locker room. Four Ducks finished with at least six points in the half, paced by Kelly’s seven. UO limited PSU to 10-for-28 shooting in the half while hitting on 14-of-33 field goals. The Nittany Lions owned a 23-13 rebounding edge, but Oregon outscored PSU 20-12 in the paint. Oregon hit on seven of its first eight field goals of the third quarter, including three from Falatea and two by Kelly as part of a 15-2 run to begin the half. A 3-pointer by Falatea gave UO a 49-32 lead to hand the Ducks their largest lead of the game. Again the Nittany Lions responded, this time by outscoring UO 13-5 to finish the third, cutting the Ducks’ lead to 54-45 going to the fourth. Falatea scored nine points on 4-of-4 shooting while Kelly added six points to lead a UO offense that shot 75 percent in the quarter. A 10-point PSU spurt to begin the fourth quarter gave the Nittany Lions their first lead of the game, 55-54, midway through the frame. A Kyei layup snapped the run and marked UO’s first points of the quarter, coming with 4:46 to play. The teams exchanged the lead in the fourth quarter six times, and the score stood tied at 61 after a Penn State layup with 1:40 on the clock. The score remained 61-61 in the closing seconds, when Kelly used a Kyei screen to get an open look at the free throw line, knocking down the go-ahead shot with 4.1 to play. “Down the stretch I thought we did some good stuff,” added Graves. “We got the right shots … We just kind of made some uncharacteristic dumb turnovers in that second half that I think changed the game and gave them a chance.” Up Next: The Ducks finish their road trip Sunday at No. 9 Ohio State (10 a.m. PT, B1G+).
  8. Good gosh....every time I checked they seemed to be down by seven or eight points and pull it out? Whew!
  9. No, I did not say that. It was not the reason for our parting, but I know it was an irritant for her.
  10. Ohio State is up 32-27 at half. Women won at Penn State...63-61!
  11. Sorry, but the long story has been beat to death, and I'm not up for a full re-hash again. But Beavis would have you believe that "they are good people" who were unfairly treated. Then they went out and destroyed the Mountain West Conference, the West Coast Conference in Basketball, and have their eye yet on the AAC for Memphis, etc. We actually felt BAD when we left, but Beavis is rejoicing at the demise of other conferences.
  12. We have yet to learn what Jamaree Caldwell has decided, as he has an extra year due to the recent NCAA ruling allowing JUCO players to have one more year. HE would be our biggest recruit on the defensive line.
  13. There are a ton of players who could have left, and the coaches are quite happy they stayed. In particular, they wanted Austin Novosad to stay...and he did. Whew!
  14. We recruit tons at each spot, and whoever is not playing after two years... At the top of front page, click on "Repository" and you click on the Depth Chart... As you see above, he was fourth at the position, and we have Bear Alexander joining us. We may have another transfer yet...
  15. The No. 1 High School team in California (Mater Dei) featured the Max-Prep POY for California, a rare Rivals 5-Star who is coming to Oregon. He has to be the most under-the-radar 5-Star to ever sign with Oregon, and we will possibly see him in Spring Football, but for certain in Fall Camp. Jordon Davison, Rivals 5-Star Running Back And he wears cool gloves and shoes...
  16. PittDuck! He predicted 31-14, only three total points off the actual 28-14 final score. Good gosh, I cannot believe how well people are doing, and I think this is the SECOND win for PittDuck this year? Thanks to all for taking part in the fun, and congrats to PittDuck once again! You GOT THIS! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction of Ohio State versus Texas? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. And please check the other posts in this thread to prevent putting up the a score that has already been predicted. We had one week where four entries were the same score! Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Ohio State creates --the number of sacks Ohio State records on the Longhorns. --the number of passing yards by the Buckeyes. My prediction is: Ohio State 37-23 2 3 294 Go B1G!
