  1. So Jim Mastro is doing anything or be anywhere other than with Cristobal? Do know that this is a BIG pay cut, as Nevada does not pay well. The new Head Coach from Oregon, Ken Wilson does not even make a million per year! Former Oregon RB Coach Jim Mastro takes Director of Ops. Job at Nevada by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  2. Some pretty big names in there from the past--pretty cool seeing some of the pictures. Oregon Ducks Football Roster announced for Madden 22 Campus Legends by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire Dan Fouts
  3. And where is the funding for all the other sports? What about equality for the women competing? All revenue generated from football is used to fund the other sports, so how do we fund them?
  4. And whatever you pay football players as employees...you have to pay the same to Women athletes in all sports. (The law)
  5. Omigosh! A new article where it states, "Does Cristobal take a long time to hire his coordinators? Yes, but he has a track record of getting the hire right—which is what matters most at the end of the day." Understanding Mario Cristobal’s Thorough and Meticulous Process with Putting Together a Coaching Staff by David Lake of InsidetheU (Try not to hurl) He KNOWS what he is doing!
  6. My FishDuck Friends, when a new coach is building his staff--doesn't he first hire the Coordinators so that the input is given for the other assistant coaches hired since they need to be all versed in the same offense or defense? Isn't that what Coach Lanning did? Yet Mario has hired everyone but his coordinators, and we've already discussed extensively why anyone would pass on being his offensive coordinator, but what about his defensive coordinator? It would appear that he has not had any luck there either, and that should have been one of his first hires? Now he looking for some NFL underling to fill the spot? Mario Cristobal Considering NFL Coach to be Defensive Coordinator by Christopher Stock of InsidetheU I was pondering this, and thought about how DeRuyter just left as soon as he could, and did not look back. He did not have the year on defense that we thought he would have....and it makes me wonder..."did Mario meddle in the defense too?" Is that why he can't hire a DC, as the word is out among coaches that you cannot execute your own plan? You'll note that Andy Avalos left in much the same way--just gone, with little in the way of parting gestures like you saw with other assistant coaches. Avalos had a terrific 2019, but not a good 2020...was there "Mario-Meddling" there as well? I have NO proof,I am simply connecting some dots. The media has made a BIG DEAL of the Cristobal hire at Miami, and yet he is becoming desperate to hire coordinators? Maybe the word is out among all the coaches, and it would not take long. Moorhead left in the same manner--just escaping. But Cristobal is SMARTER Than ALL of Us He has to be! His butting-in behaviors has been rewarded with EIGHT MILLION a year. So now that his MO has been reinforced, I cannot imagine that he will change since he was just told how good he is. And potential OCs and DCs know that, and the good ones want nothing to do with him. Moorhead went from a highly regarded national reputation to Akron? Whew! There is a lot more to this story than we'll ever know, but when you have repeated examples....
  7. Matt Prehm is the manager and primarily reporter/writer for 247, and has been doing this for years. I have much more, but cannot disclose in public! Let's just say that he has rules on their site--unless it pertains to FishDuck...then you have free reign to write anything. But he is very knowledgeable and has connections for his pay site.
  8. I love the weather report for Saturday's game at Green Bay; the high is expected to be 21 degrees, with a low of 5 degrees! Yikes.
  9. I am impressed with how fast he is in the video on this page that is free. In the right lower corner of the video--you can click to make it larger. Wowsa.
  10. It is not OUR values, but how the system is now designed. It is amazing that even if you fail as a coach...you get paid millions to go away! Disgusting to me too...
  11. 30Duck gets credit for the BEST description of the Cristobal scoring machine when he called it, "The Prevent-Offense!"
  12. So true...there are times when what you write is brutal, but truthful. And I'm glad it is not about me!
  13. Really good point. Coach Graves would be fried by his own team.
  14. Naw. I think he knows he is not NFL material and is throwing NIL bait out there to see what he can get for his final college year. And use it as leverage with Oregon, of which I would not be offended by considering all he has done. I think Jonathan Smith could really use him well, but that would sting....
  15. This just muddies the Duck waters to me. On one hand she could be right about a "double-standard" in what Men can say versus Women during a game. Or maybe she is playing the "Sexist" card? Or maybe she is a bit more sensitive? Or maybe Graves did call her the "B" word, and that is not nice. Hard to know the truth!
  16. The fact they are "ex" on both sides of the aisle indicates they have the smarts to "know when to fold them." I think Mario is going to need an idiot to take the job or someone desperate.
  17. There is some interesting information to chew on in John's article... "Invites more cheating?" Canzano: Early Returns on NIL for Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers Comes Amid Questions by John Canzano of OregonLive
  18. In two weeks and two days, (February 4th) the deadline for Verdell to decide between staying and going looms. The good news is that we fans will know soon enough instead of twisting in the wind, but the coaches wish they could know for recruiting purposes, I'm sure. Staying or Going? How CJ Verdell's NFL Decision Holds Massive Weight for Oregon RB Depth by Zachary Neel of Ducks Digest
  19. Omigosh....Mario offered Kendal Briles of Arkansas yesterday, and Briles is better for it! (Taggart fired Briles at FSU, and Briles did well at Arkansas this past year) So much fun drama concerning former coaches! Miami Hurricanes Offer Former Florida State Assistant an Offensive Coordinator Position by Maddox Nebel of NoleGameday
  20. This would have to be THE WORST offensive coordinator position in the nation. You will look bad, and the fans will boo you. Then YOU, not the head coach will get blamed? He will be now looking for a stooge who has nothing to lose.
  21. This is all I ever asked for the article a few weeks ago wanting the Oregon "Brand" back, and I got vilified on other sites for it. So nice to have a GREEN REFUGE, where civility reigns--even when people disagree.
  22. And...I have to give kudos to FishDuck Photographer Tom Corno, who was at the game and captured the incredible photo of Brandon Dorlus at the top of this analysis article.
  23. Coach Boles, this is outstanding to give us the basic differences in alignment that few would ever look up and understand. I had read about the "Mint" alignment, but had not done the homework to understand what it was, so THANKS for that. This is a wonderful base article that is easy to read and understand, and will be the beginning of a new section in the Oregon Analysis Library explaining the Lanning Defense at Oregon!
  24. (From Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — The University of Oregon athletic department announced on Wednesday the hiring of Jarwarski Beckum as the new director of speed and performance for the Oregon football program. Beckum comes to Oregon from Ole Miss, where he spent the last two seasons as the assistant director of football strength and conditioning while working with new Oregon head strength and conditioning coach Wilson Love. “We are thrilled to have Jarwarski Beckum join us here at Oregon,” head coach Dan Lanning said. “He is a tremendous addition to our strength and conditioning staff. His experience working with Wilson Love the past two years will really allow him to hit the ground running here in Eugene. Coach Jaws has done it all in the weight room, but truly specializes in speed training and development. I am fired up to welcome Jarwarski, his wife, Davida, and their two children, DJ and London, to the Duck family.” Beckum reunites with Love and joins a staff that includes Shaud Williams and Mark Davis, who are both staying on at Oregon as assistant strength and conditioning coaches. “I want to thank Coach Lanning, Coach Love, and the University of Oregon administration for this incredible opportunity,” Beckum said. “When you think of speed and college football, you think of the Oregon Ducks. I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to play a role in continuing that tradition. I can’t wait to get to work with our elite student-athletes and the terrific staff Coach Lanning has assembled in Eugene. Go Ducks!” Ole Miss went 10-3 overall in 2021 with Beckum on staff, knocking off Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl for the second straight year and earning a trip to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Rebels were one of the more explosive teams in the nation, ranking in the top 20 in plays of 10-plus and 20-plus yards. Prior to going to Ole Miss, Beckum spent three seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Nevada. The Wolf Pack made back-to-back bowl appearances in 2018 and 2019. A graduate of Mississippi State, Beckum began his career as a volunteer intern at Alabama before being promoted to an assistant strength coach role. While with the Crimson Tide, he served as the speed coach for football, women’s basketball, and softball. Beckum went from Alabama to Grambling State, where he spent three seasons as the director of strength and conditioning. The Tigers football team went a combined 20-3 in Beckum’s final two seasons in 2015 and 2016, going undefeated in conference play both years and winning the HBCU National Championship in his final season before going to Nevada. Beckum helped develop seven all-Americans, 14 first-team all-conference players, and nine future NFL players while at Grambling. Beckum holds certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as USAW and USATF.
