  1. I understand how this is wonderful for a walk-on at BYU, but it sucks for everyone else trying to compete. Schools Brokering Name, Image and Likeness Deals Adds Layer to College Conundrum by Dan Murphy of ESPN
  2. And Coach Boles...I WILL make a new section in the Oregon Analysis Library for the Dillingham Offense and the Lanning Defense, and get them caught up cataloging as they should be. Sorry for the delay, as you have created some wonderful work that so many appreciate.
  3. Being in the top 25 is nice, but I thought both teams were going to kill-it this year, and my optimism going into their seasons was sky-high. But the men losing at home to a so-so Colorado team, and the women losing to ASU? Not what I thought would happen. But I love both coaches and support them and the teams regardless. And I'll make fun where I can...especially with the damn Huskies coming to town this week.
  4. We averaged nearly 50 points a game when Herbert was healthy that year, and even with Burmeister filling in with the losses--we averaged more points in 2017 than the average of Cristobal years. It was a combo offense of the CK/MH Spread, with a little Pistol and a lot of Taggart's Gulf Coast Offense. (Which I liked) I really wish we could learn what Dillingham means by a "Pro-Style" offense, because I love what he said about explosion plays, getting match-ups and how he wants to create problems for defenses with fast tempo. Does this mean a fast offense, but under center? Or "Pro-Style" in terms of the passing offense as you alluded to? If we can score a boatload of points snapping under center with a sophisticated passing offense, the match-ups and tempo, then I am for it. I certainly understand that to tell recruits you are running a "Pro-Style" offense to prepare them for the NFL is a great sales point. I know we won't really know until the games are played, but it is confusing considering Dillingham ran the Spread Offense in the past and the Spread really sets you up for entire-field-attack, bigger running and cutback lanes. Of course I am for any offense that scores a boatload of points!
  5. Two years of Arroyo under Mario--for the fact checkers. Scoring per game average was insufficient under Arroyo, considering we had a future NFL star at 33 points per game. Yet it dropped to 31 points per game under Moorhead...
  6. Mastro was not ever the OC; two years of Arroyo and two years of Moorhead.
  7. I actually relate to John a ton; he calls it the way he sees it, (The Bald-Faced Truth) and thus you have half agree and half disagree. Of those that disagree--a good percentage really hate you. That is reality for an Op-Ed (Opinion-Editorial) writer who has strong opinions. I cannot imagine anyone having as much hate on other sites (97 posts on 247 I would have deleted here in August in response to a Mario article) as I--for simply writing an opinion people disagreed with. That is unless it is John Canzano. He and he write strong controversial Op-Eds and thus have the public reaction. His is MUCH higher than mine, but my recent "Bring-Back-the-Brand" article generated over 65 hate posts on ScoopDuck recently. As one fellow told me..."Charles it is about 50/50 on Twitter in agreement or disagreement, (which is GOOD for an Op-Ed writer to get the discussion going) but boy...some of those who disagree really hate you!" Yep. One difference between John and I; I think John just likes to stir things up at times. I, on the other hand, NEVER write anything I don't believe in. I don't get paid for clicks; I don't get paid at all! So I write what is in my heart...
  8. So he wanted to get away from a run-obsessed, meddling, and overbearing man....to go to Cristobal. Good luck with that!
  9. He makes some good points, although I did not realize it was that bad... Canzano: Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball Manages to Look Dangerous and Vulnerable at the Same Time by John Canzano of OregonLive
  10. Knock me over with a Duck-Feather. All I can say is....this is a great hire for Mario, and I have to assume that he made lots of promises to Gattis, and did a very convincing sales job. After what happened with Moorhead...I am very surprised. Thanks for posting...
  11. Glad to see you join us, and do post often. WELCOME!
  12. Press Release from Oregon Athletics SALT LAKE CITY — Oregon led by double-digits most of the contest, but Utah battled back to make it a close one. The Ducks were able to pull off the road win in the final seconds, defeating the Utes 80-77. How It Happened: Utah scored the first nine points of the game behind three three-pointers. The Ducks started to find their stride and went on a 13-2 run midway through the half. Oregon got in their own way after the run, turning the ball over on three-straight possessions to let Utah close it to a 33-24 Oregon lead with four minutes to play in the half. UO got back on track and closed out the half outscoring Utah 43-22 after the early Utes lead. Oregon came out flat in the second half, letting Utah get good looks with slow defensive rotations. At the 15:52 mark, Utah had cut the lead to nine, 48-39. The trend continued, as Utah cut the lead to four points at the 10-minute mark. The Ducks immediately went on a run after a pair of threes from Quincy Guerrier and Will Richardson. Richardson’s triple put him at 22 points on the night. After pushing the lead back to double-digits, Utah was within five points with 1:17 to play. Utah forced a turnover and made it a one-point Oregon lead with 20 seconds left. The Ducks converted a long inbound pass and got a breakaway layup from Jacob Young to clinch the victory. Who Stood Out: Richardson led the team with 25 points, while Young scored 14. Eric Williams Jr. came up huge on the boards with 10 rebounds and seven points. What It Means: The Ducks move to 15-7 and 8-3 in the conference. Oregon has now won nine games in a row against Utah. Up Next: Oregon is back home next weekend as hosts to Stanford on Thursday, Feb. 10 (6 p.m. PT) and Cal on Saturday, Feb. 12 (1 p.m. PT).

  15. Now THAT is a World-Class Husky rant, and just warms my heart. Gosh I love this community!
  16. I really hate shifting from one channel to another when I'm trying to record it!
  17. Go right here for previous articles about the rivalry with the Huskies and many of the 22 articles have the history within. Just writing the "H" word makes me want to turn and spit...
  18. The grading system would also have to take into account what you have lost with transfers out, like how do you measure Travis Dye?
  19. We need a television broadcast in addition to the games being streaming, as online only would leave a ton of people out who do not have a more recent TV or don't know how to operate that part of it. (You would be VERY surprised at the computer literacy, or lack of it out there.)
  20. I am wondering about injury to Sedona, as she has looked....slow at times? Guards quickly turn the corner on her and get the foul...
  21. From the biggest Husky site: Honest Analysis by a Husky "This class is riddled with question marks and is seriously under performing what Chris Petersen brought in, or Sark for the matter. As a whole I don't usually look at the class rankings in the context they're posted because your right size of the class isn't as important as the quality. That said this class falls way below threshold required to compete for national championships or even conference titles. For crying out loud by average star rating this class is worse that Oregon State." "Myself, I'm worried but am willing to wait and see before forming a final opinion on the matter. There are a lot of unknowns with the new staff, such as how well they teach, mentor and develop young talent. I was hoping they would alleviate my concerns regarding their ability to recruit at a top 20 level but unfortunately they failed to do that with this class." Now the Spin: "That doesn't mean this class isn't what the doctor ordered for UW. The fact these guys are all lower rated means they're likely hard working and will buy into what Coach is saying a lot quicker since he gave them a chance. Culture is a huge part of what makes a team and this foundation could jump start getting that back on track. Also it doesn't mean these gentlemen can't be serious contributors. A solid foundation is always needed and these guys seem like they'll make a solid core as long as the majority aren't busts."
  22. And thanks to McDuck for finding and posting this article. Thanks to EVERYONE that posts articles!
