Marsh Power PAC Rankings - Week 4
Charles Fischer replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is really well thought-out and done well. Very fun, and my thanks. -
EUGENE, Ore. — Bennett Williams received more praise for his two-interception performance in Oregon’s 41-19 win over Arizona on Thursday as the junior safety was named the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Player of the Week. This is the third national honor of the week for Williams, who was the Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week while also landing on Pro Football Focus’ National Team of the Week. Williams was also the second straight Duck to be named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, joining fellow safety Verone McKinley III. The Paycom Jim Thorpe Award is presented annually to college football’s premiere defensive back. S Bennett Williams – Paycom Jim Thorpe Award Player of the Week » Walter Camp National FBS Defensive Player of the Week » Pro Football Focus National Team of the Week » Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week » One of just seven Oregon players since 2000 to have multiple INTs in a game while returning one of them for a touchdown. » 68-yard pick-six is the longest by an Oregon player since 2017 (Tyree Robinson – 100 yards). » Intercepted a pass in consecutive games for the first time in his career – now has six career INTs. » Now has three interceptions in the last two games, helping Oregon lead the nation with 13 total takeaways through four games. » Tied for third in the nation with three interceptions on the season. » Oregon is tied for the national lead in interceptions with nine on the season, three coming from Williams and four from McKinley III. » Matched his season-high with eight total tackles, including six solo. Good gosh, that is a loaded week. Thanks for listing all that Jon, and I think Our Beloved Ducks will cover your spread. No proof, just a hunch.
-
Yikes. Great point, as it does not. It sure makes you wonder...
-
Whoa! That looks powerful, and what college would have the depth of experience in marketing than Oregon? Duckdude...thanks for bringing this to us, and you are quite right; this is incredible for recruiting, as the Ducks are leveraging their expertise.
-
Amen, as I feel that vibe too. I can just hope for the best at this point because we do not know all the complicating variables in the locker room and coaches suite.

To think that I used to sit down to my computer every Saturday morning for a six year period to read a Duckpop22 article that would always make me laugh? And now I get TWO chuckles in one morning?

30Duck....you are picking up where you left off from last March and KILLING IT with the GIFs. We will have a video learning from you on how to do it so well!

DeRuyter's Daughter is crushing it!
Charles Fischer replied to Haywarduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It does not mention if they are related, and I cannot help but wonder if Cristobal already has this in place and Michigan is simply catching up? -
Ending or Changing the Targeting Rule?
Charles Fischer replied to David Marsh's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is natural for a ball carrier to lower his head when he sees a defender projecting at him. Thus a tackle meant with the defender driving his head into the chest or shoulder of the ball carrier ends up being helmet-to-helmet. I agree with Duckpop22, in that this is evolving, but I like how David brought this up for discussion. -
A SAFE Place to Post--Such a Relief!
Charles Fischer replied to Oregon Reigns's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Oh Duckpop22....you know how to make me laugh-out-loud as few can. And those Escalades came from all those FishDuck profits...right? -
Oregon State hosting Washington at 6:00 PM on Saturday? Who do you want to win, and who do you think will win? I am torn on this, as a Washington loss may seal-the-deal for the Mistake-by-the-Lake, (thanks Annie!) and I do not want to see a great coach at Montlake. Yet I would love to see the Beavers beat them because...the Huskies losing always makes me smile! Those who know me would laugh when I say it is "good-or-good." Your thoughts?
-
You know the drill; give me who wins, the score, the number of turnovers that Oregon creates, the number of sacks that Oregon records and the number of Oregon passing yards. I'll go first... Oregon wins, 45-17, 3, 3, 240 yards. Turnovers could be a key again!

My friends, we are not going to have tons of posts about "other" sports often, but when they are excelling as the No. 11 Womens Volleyball team and now this Soccer team--we gotta feature it on occasion. Cristobal would love the way these women play, as they play tough defense and thus are unbeaten in this season! KEY STORYLINES • The Ducks are undefeated through their first nine games of the season (5-0-4) for the first time since 1981. • Dating back to last season, Oregon is unbeaten in its last 11 games (6-0-5). That is the second-longest streak in program history, behind only a 21-match unbeaten streak (17-0-4) over the course of the 1980 and 1981 seasons. • Oregon has scored 18 goals in 9 games in 2021. Contrast that to last season when the Ducks found the net 12 times in 16 games. • Last Friday, Oregon shutout No. 3 UCLA in a 0-0 draw in Los Angeles. It was the first time the Bruins had been shutout at home in more than three years. Leah Freeman (goalkeeper) and Chai Cortez (defender) were named Pac-12 players of the week. • Oregon notched several milestones versus the Bay Area schools a season ago. The Ducks won for the first time at Berkeley (1-0), defeated No. 3 Stanford for the first time ever in the first meeting of the year in Eugene (2-1) and shutout the Cardinal for the first time (0-0) in a game played at The Farm. Oregon went undefeated on the Bay Area trip for the first time ever. • The Ducks and goalkeeper Leah Freeman have four shutouts in the last five matches. Freeman ranks second in the conference and 17th nationally with a 0.45 goals against average. The Berkeley, Calif., native also ranks second in the conference and 16th nationally in shutouts with five. That is just two shy of the UO single-season record of seven. (Information and picture courtesy of GoDucks.com) The Ducks will face California at 7 p.m. on Thursday and No. 7 Stanford at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Both matches will be on Pac-12 Network.

My friends, everyone knows that the Cardinal are weak at run-defense, while the Ducks are weak in the Passing Offense. It makes sense to me, (if I was David Shaw) to pack the box against Oregon...get eight defenders in there to bottle up the Oregon rushing attack. Force the Ducks to beat you through the air with a QB who is barely completing half his passes, of which almost none that stretch the field and who have receivers who are not getting separation? Conversely, Oregon needs to come out passing to get the box count to normal, and then bulldoze them with CJ Verdell, (not Brown!) as they used to do so frequently to us. Thoughts on this my friends? We have tight-ends who can challenge Jacob Breeland's numbers for getting open and making the catch!

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon will be featured in 17 national broadcasts by either the ESPN family of networks, Fox Sports 1 or CBS during the 2021-22 season, as the Pac-12 announced the league schedule and television selections on Wednesday. Season tickets for the 2021-22 season are on sale now, starting at only $165. Fans can use the link below to personally select their season ticket locations. On Dec. 18, the defending-champion Baylor Bears will visit Matthew Knight Arena to face the Ducks at 7 p.m. PST on ESPN2. Oregon opens its 20-game Pac-12 conference schedule as hosts to Arizona State on Dec. 5, before traveling to Stanford to face the Cardinal in the team’s only December road game on Dec. 12. On Jan. 1, the Ducks ring in the New Year at home against Utah, before traveling to Corvallis the following week as guests of Oregon State on Jan. 8. The first nationally televised conference game for Oregon is on Jan. 13, when the team travels to Los Angeles to face UCLA on ESPN. After the two-game trip to Los Angeles, the Ducks return for a three-game homestand that features the Jan. 29 contest versus Oregon State on ESPN2. Both Los Angeles schools visit Eugene to close out the team’s home schedule, with the Feb. 24 UCLA game airing on ESPN, while the Feb. 26 USC contest can be seen on ESPN or ESPN2. Oregon wraps up the season with a two-game trip to the state of Washington, including the season finale against Washington State, which is being showcased nationwide on CBS. Kennedy Basham from Phoenix verbally committed to Oregon after turning down Arizona and UCLA (yeah!) in deciding to come to Eugene. They interviewed her over at Duck Territory, and it came down to the relationship she felt with the team, but in particular Coach Graves. She is good friends with another player verbally committed to Oregon, thus some team chemistry is working at several levels!

The Ducks Are Playing With Fire
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This article by Darren Perkins generated so much discussion, as we had posts/comments of over 100 in three day out of a four day period. Whew! I would say this community is very ready for a "safe" forum again! -
Sorry Annie, I do not know!

If we stay on this path--we could be in the Top-10 again! Kind of a cool poster on the telecast the other night of Anthony Brown... -
The Oregon Offense: The New Wide Power Read
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
This is great stuff, as it explains why so well this play worked and what to look for in new variations of it later! -
Isn't that the BEST answer Mario could have given? Just chillin' with the players after a Pac-12 Championship....
