No Surprise: Thibodeaux Declares for NFL Draft and Skips Bowl Game
latracey....I hope you don't mind that I deleted your post before anyone commented since I just posted the same thing! But I really appreciate you posting articles and tweets--I am grateful to everyone doing that, and having the "double-posting" problem is a fantastic problem for this community to have. Bless you all!

Oregon Names Bryan McClendon Interim Head Coach
(Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens has named Bryan McClendon interim head football coach for the upcoming Valero Alamo Bowl. McClendon is in his second season with the Ducks, serving as pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach. McClendon came to Oregon after spending four years as an assistant coach at South Carolina, including the final two as offensive coordinator. He began his coaching career at Georgia – his alma mater – from 2007 to 2015, earning a promotion to assistant head coach ahead of his final season with the Bulldogs. McClendon served as Georgia’s interim head coach for the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl. “We appreciate Coach McClendon agreeing to accept a leadership role in providing the best possible bowl experience for our student-athletes,” Mullens said. “His previous experience as an interim head coach is valuable for our program as we prepare for the Alamo Bowl, and we are grateful for his willingness to step up and assume this responsibility for Oregon football.” The No. 14 Ducks (10-3) will take on No. 16 Oklahoma (10-2) on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at the Alamodome (6:15 p.m. PT, ESPN). Duck1984....I hope you don't mind me deleting yours as I was publishing the official Press Release. But I very much appreciate how you and others are posting news and articles!

Second De-Commit Just Happened...
At one time....coaches recruited well to Cal. Key defensive players that could have helped us win the 'Natty such as Shaq Thompson went to Cal, so it CAN be done. But the two coaches above are 3-Star Kings of recruiting, and have not shown the juice needed at recruiting, IMHO.

Informed Prediction Time: Chip Kelly Might be the Next Guy
In three years...people would not be happy with Chip Kelly, and this is from the guy who created the videos of his offense watched over two million times. If Chip could recreate what Chip did at Oregon....he would have done it in four years at UCLA. Hire Chip and you will get what I wrote years ago...."eight or nine wins...Mora or less." (Jim Mora was the prior coach they fired who had a 10 win season, and 8-9 win seasons.) They did not improve things with Chip... And the boosters there HATE him, as he has alienated so many people as he did at Oregon. Let's not turn to Oregon re-treads....

Fentress: Wilcox is who Oregon Needs
Do we value loyalty and get nine win seasons, or do we want MORE and attempt to return to the 'Natty? I do not believe Wilcox has the recruiting chops to take us there, and his Cal roster proves it.

Oregon Football at a Crossroads
I am a Duck for life, and I have WAY TOO MUCH FUN on the forum as I banter-with-my-buddies. My role is to provide the forum platform and the organizational efforts, and my hope that if enough people come forward to do their part to retain/improve a free forum that enforces decorum like nowhere else....that the OBD forum should be here for the long term. For just two months old--the growth and activity is exciting and leaves me breathless...

A nationwide search for the next leader of the Oregon football program is underway. “We appreciate all of Mario’s accomplishments and hard work here at Oregon, and we wish him and his family all the best in their next chapter,” said Mullens. “The University of Oregon is a prestigious academic institution with a football program that is well-positioned for continued success in the future, and the search is underway to find another excellent football coach to lead and support our student-athletes moving forward.” An interim head coach for the Oregon football program will be determined as soon as possible.

Wow, Cristobal's Oregon Contract was "Pulled Off the Table"
Thanks. Part of what I am trying to do on this forum is add my knowledge of publishing...to a forum. It has never been done before, and it is working well. Since 75% of those here are not posting, but simply here to be reading the content of news and posts--my rules and protocol are meant to make it easier and more enjoyable for them. Again...not a priority at other forums, but it is here!
