  1. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! We DO know what we are doing!
  2. Funny how that works with ESPN, but doesn't this seem really skewed? ESPN FPI Update: Oregon Expected to Face Major Difficulties over Final Weeks of the Season by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  3. I did not know they were that big, and our defensive tackles are undersized to start with? A Physical Utah Offense Will Try to Bully the Ducks Down the Field by Don Smalley of Ducks Wire
  4. I sure did not think of this...but all from one coach? Naw....
  5. Thank you Coach as this was a Blast-from-the-Past for me. We ran a similar play a decade ago with Chip that I called the Straddled Triple Option, where we ran an Inside Zone one direction, and a Speed Double-Option the other direction. In this version the running back can run to either A-Gap, as you noted. I loved this play and GREAT to see it back!
  6. I'll take a little coin from big donors...
  7. The beginning of the end? Don't touch my big payday!
  8. Oh good! For once someone else is wearing hideously ugly grey uniforms! Won't be hard to look sharp next to that! We lost both games BTW...
  9. (Press Release from Oregon Athletics) EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux has been selected as a finalist for the 2021 Bronko Nagurski Trophy, awarded to the most outstanding defensive player in the nation. Thibodeaux is one of three finalists for the prestigious honor, along with Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis. The three finalists represent the three teams currently in the top three of the College Football Playoff rankings. Thibodeaux is the second Nagurski Trophy finalist in program history, and first since Haloti Ngata in 2005. He was the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in Oregon’s win at UCLA on October 23. The winner of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be chosen from these three finalists. The FWAA All-America Committee, after voting input from the association's entire membership, selects the defensive player of the year who is part of the 2021 FWAA All-America Team and presented with the trophy at the Bronko Nagurski Awards Banquet presented by LendingTree on Mon., Dec. 6 at the Charlotte Convention Center. Kayvon Thibodeaux – Bronko Nagurski Trophy Finalist » No. 3 in the Pac-12 with six sacks this season despite missing multiple games due to injury. » No. 5 in the Pac-12 with 10.0 tackles for loss. » Tied for ninth among FBS edge defenders with a 91.2 pass-rush grade by Pro Football Focus. » Dominated at UCLA with a career-high nine tackles and 4.5 TFLs, plus two sacks and a forced fumble. » First Duck since 2007 with at least nine tackles, four TFLs and two sacks in a game. » First Oregon player since 2017 with at least four TFLs in a game. » Recorded his second multi-sack game of the season with two in Oregon’s win vs. WSU. » 34 total quarterback pressures and 22 hurries, according to PFF. » Tied for 10th in program history with 18.0 career sacks. » 33.5 career TFLs, tied for third-most among active Power 5 players since the start of 2019. » Walter Camp Player of the Year Semifinalist. » Chuck Bednarik Award Semifinalist. » Two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Week.
  10. You don't understand..... Cohen knows what she is doing!
  11. During the first half....I was tempted to borrow a phrase from Ernie and shout, "MOVE!" The offense was stagnant with too much one-on-one.
  12. I don't agree with this. He does not have breakaway speed, nor the length; he has great separation skills and is a dependable (usually) receiver for third down. He is not as great as he thinks, IMHO. And KingT...welcome to the forum!
  13. Outstanding article Joshua, because you back your contentions up with facts to come to a reasonable conclusion. You've helped my blood pressure already!
  14. Thank you Steven A. as that is a GREAT article!
  15. Let's hope they do better than the Men did last night with their PK Tournament! Nice to see Watson improving...
  16. This is a very good listen for only two minutes, and he is very compelling...
  17. PFF ranks two Oregon defensive linemen in the top three of the conference?
  18. I wrote some great things about him in the early part of my Monday article, and featured him throughout the analysis. Glad to see his recognition, and glad to see that Cristobal saw his upside and recruited the JC transfer.
  19. Unbelievable. I hope this motivates the team as it appears that NONE of the goodwill created by beating Ohio State for the first EVER resides with the powers-that-be. They would tell me to cheer up, as their odds for us have doubled in the last week from 3% to 7%! The official table of odds is right here....
  20. I do regard this as part of Mario's education, his growth as a coach. What is the solution to keeping everyone happy? Have a high scoring balanced offense! Don't get me wrong--I love 300 yards rushing, but another 250 passing could work too. I just got some good news: I WILL have a photographer on the field at Utah, and it is the same who shot for us in 2018 and took this superb photo. (Utah has been....stingy with credentials in the past)
  21. Later in the show an ESPN reporter Heather Dinich told us that after talking to members of the Playoff committee that, "she would not be surprised to see Ohio State jump Oregon later due to strength of schedule and it could happen as soon as this week with a win at Michigan State for the Buckeyes." It also appeared as a foregone conclusion among the ESPN crew that Oregon will not win all three remaining games, and Herbie "likes" Utah.
  22. Doing this during the season? During the stretch run for the Playoffs? You can't wait two months? What a great way to kill the team unity....it's all about ME!
  23. That is so cool! Thanks for posting that, kirklandduck!
  24. Sometimes the other team messes up too...
