I can't believe I missed this, as I was wondering a week ago where the ESPN GameDay guys were going, but forgot to check it. Sure enough they are going to be in Pasadena from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM discussing our game in depth. Since it is B1G foes, don't they want BOTH to lose? I have to admit...I'm stunned. I purposely did NOT want to watch that game because I thought Illinois was a "weak" 9-3 and after what South Carolina had done this season....I thought Illinois was going to get blown out. Goes to show two things: --I am only right half the time, and better count my blessings that it is that high. --The SEC is much more over-rated this year than anyone thought. Could this be an omen for Dilly?

I covered the Scrape Exchange, and how to counter-that-counter in my analysis videos....thirteen years ago. Not a new concept! Above is from the 2011 game with USC, when Trojan DC Monte Kiffin tried the Scrape Exchange to slow us down. (It didn't) It is all about probabilities in my view; their concern is to stop the Outside Zone, thus they do not want to tie down a linebacker to help cover the backside of the play. He is needed to fill the cut-back lanes on the Outside Zone going the other direction, IMHO. There is SO MUCH you can do of constraint plays off of Outside Zone, so many play-action passes, etc., so sure, this QB pull is an option. But there are many...

Matt Prehm on 247 just confirmed that yes, Oregon is pursuing Makhi Hughes. Jordan James has stated that he has not made up his mind about returning yet, but I have to assume he is not returning. He has proven all that he needs to, IMHO. There might be in issue with Da'Jaun Riggs for No. 21.... I like this, as he could be another Bucky for us, and make life easier for Dante Moore.

A year too late, but better than waiting for 2026... the article is right here, and gives me hope going forward. We would have to play Penn State again, but a repeat game would be unavoidable with how good the B1G will become at the top, and I'd rather play Ohio State in the final.

LOS ANGELES — Oregon nose tackle Jamaree Caldwell is open to returning in 2025. One of three Ducks impacted by the NCAA granting former junior college players an additional year of eligibility, Caldwell played at Independence Community College in 2021. He has a career-high 28 tackles (3.5 for loss) with three pass breakups and a forced fumble this season and is open to returning for a sixth season. “It’s a blessing, coming from all JUCO players in the country,” Caldwell said. “As of right now I don’t really know where I want to start. That was something I want to think about after the season. Yeah, I do consider coming back." Caldwell accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl, but that doesn’t mean he’s absolutely moving on once the season ends. “That would be a good place to showcase a lot of things I could do on the field, a lot of things I know on the field,” Caldwell said. “My mindset was to focus on winning now and I think about that later. Everybody that plays this game, it’s always a dream to go to the NFL. It’s a lot of things about draft grades and see where you’re going. If things don’t add up for me and I know I could probably do better my next year, I for sure consider coming back.” The Ducks, who are losing defensive tackle Keyon Ware-Hudson after the season, added former USC defensive tackle Bear Alexander this month. If Caldwell returns, Oregon is projected to have 10 scholarship interior defensive linemen in 2025, with defensive tackle Derrick Harmon yet to announce his plans for next season. “I think we’ll cross that bridge when it gets there,” defensive line coach Tony Tuioti said. “Been so focused on the task at hand and this game most importantly.
