  1. Add your thoughts at the bottom of the thread! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any guesses on our seed? I'm guessing and hoping for a No. 12, since you have so many upsets of No. 12 vs. No. 5 that occur over the years. Thoughts?
  2. So hard to beat a team three times in one year...maybe we should play Washington in football again?
  3. Pac-2: I'm sure it will work out fine...
  4. Yikes! The Joey Harrington effect is REAL...
  5. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Grayson Grinsell allowed just one run on one hit in 6.0 innings of work
  6. After getting our butts kicked yesterday and Tuesday due to poor pitching...it is great to see great arms in action again. Grayson Grinsell went six innings, only gave up one run and struck out nine batters. He had one "iffy" inning, but survived it. Then Bradley Mullan came in and gave up no runs for two innings, and Logan Mercado closed out the ninth! Cooney and Casella both had two-run homers for the bulk of Duck scoring, and it was a nice warm-up for tonight's big basketball game? The series is decided Sunday at 12:05 PM start... Grayson Grinsell
  7. You have a new unique MUD created when you mix new southwestern Big-12 dust with salty Wildcat tears... Before the game: "If we play defense anything like what we did yesterday vs. USC this won't be close. The guy who torched us in Tucson has a bad left shoulder and was wearing tape yesterday. Where is Oregon going to generate offense from?" "Oregon winning the tournament championship tomorrow. Nike money prevails." "Nah, Oregon shot their wad on us. They are losing by 10." "Credit to Oregon because I think they did play good defense but this was more Arizona was lazy and lost focus at the task at hand." "We choked the game and the number one seed away. Well done." "Who thought...we were losing this game at halftime? I sure as heck didn’t even though we had a 6 min field goal drought late in the half and should have been up by 15 or so at halftime." "Giving up a huge lead in March, especially against Oregon, is flat out pathetic." "Without Dante Oregon is totally f'd." "Injury looked nasty. Take the Cats in game now -10.5" "Phil Knight looks like he died and no one told him." "Oregon wants it more than us and playing smarter. Pretty simple." "Oregon is held together with bubblegum and tape and is kicking our a$$." "Couisnard going off while he sucks against everyone else. How typical."
  8. From the Arizona 247 Sports site.... LAS VEGAS - Arizona lost 67-59 to Oregon on Friday night in the Semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament as the Wildcats struggled to get anything going in the second half. "We just didn't get it done today," Arizona head coach Tommy Lloyd said. "You've got to give Oregon credit. They did a great job hanging in that game and dealing with some adversity. It's unfortunate for them, their best player or one of their better players goes down early in the game, but that kid showed some character and some toughness to come back in. Obviously he was a big difference in the game. "We had opportunities early to extend the lead and we didn't and then we had opportunities in the second half to make a run and we didn't. So when you don't, that's the results. I tip my hat to Oregon and Dana Altman. They did a good job and they were the deserving team today." Oregon out-rebounded Arizona by 10 in the second half and the Wildcats seemed to lack their normal movement on offense. "They did a good job playing defensively with their hands, and they got their hands on a lot of balls where we maybe had a slight advantage," Lloyd said. "They were able to use their hands to knock the ball loose, and those are good defensive plays. "On the glass, you know, we just kind of got a little bit stagnant on offense and guys were standing around. When that happens, it's usually hard to offensive rebound. And so they were able to control the glass at that end. "Defensively they were getting downhill into our chest and then we just -- you shoot those shots. They're hard rebounds. Traditionally we've been really good at rebounding those close little floaters and stuff like that. We just couldn't seem to corral one today." The Ducks found success with a zone in the second half and the Wildcats failed to attack the rim. "We just got stagnant," Lloyd said. "We got a little bit stagnant. Generally that's not us. When it happened, maybe we had a few shots we hope we usually make and we didn't. He (Dante) was kind of a force around the basket, protecting the rim and kind of raised a couple of layups. Maybe that got in the back of some of our guys' heads, but give him credit. They run their little matchup-to-man zone defense pretty well, and tonight it worked." For the first time all season, Arizona failed to get up 50 shot attempts. "Turnovers and a slow pace," Lloyd said. "Once they were able to kind of get the game at their pace, and that lead, they were able to kind of shorten the game. That's what good coaching, what that will do. Credit goes to them, but we're going to have to take a deep look at that because definitely we want to -- we definitely want to get more shot attempts than 50."
  9. So happy about this, as he deserves his increases. He has been a target of other teams, and will continue to be. Love his attitude...
  10. Going to the dance! The last official basketball game between two Pac-12 teams ends with Oregon winning it! More coming--give us your thoughts below!
  11. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Oregon bounced back from first-half adversity to beat Arizona in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals Friday night.
  12. Down 14 in late first half? Outscored the Wildcats 44-26 in the second half? Shelstad goes crazy hitting threes? The best part? It was almost an entirely Arizona crowd there, and now they left the arena...torqued at Oregon AGAIN.
  13. Oh darn! They can't steal any more? 225 million wasn't enough? Group of 5 schools get a ton less with the new Playoff contract, and rightfully so. Are they going to really be contending for a 'Natty? No, so 360K is too much.
  14. When asked about what coaching strategies he employed in the first half..."It’s not coaching if nobody’s listening,” Altman said after the game.
  15. Great article, well researched, and sound reasoning. I always learn a lot from your writing, Jon, and this one got me pondering. In the B1G, I figured you might slide to Wisconsin, and your Trojan pick surprised me. But you made a great case…could we face Troy in the B1G championship game? My thanks!
