I think Oregon came out with intensity the first time they play osu2, and I would be surprised if they came out flat in the Rose Bowl. Lanning has had them more mentally prepared than other coaches in the past. I LOVE being the slight underdog to offset the psychological advantage osu2 has from losing the first meeting.

Yep, we got time to blow before our next game, and I am already weary of all the Rose Bowl analysis. Naturally, I have to add to it! A couple of items from the B1G Championship game to pass along for thought... First: Did you see Dillon Gabriel go through a routine when he approached the huddle after a kick-off touchback? He would make the sign of the cross, and then wave his hands into a pattern going up, out, and then meeting his fingers at the bottom. It looked like he was making the outline of...angel wings? We all have our superstitions or blessings we like to employ, and I will admit to not noticing this before. He does it quickly, so he is not trying to draw attention to it, but I noticed it more than once. I believe he is Christian, but I do not know if he is Catholic, as that seems like something a Catholic might do. Interesting, as I have not seen that before in sports... (Taken from my own experience as Catholic, and yeah...I'm a Christian, but I never said I wear a halo, or was noble) Second: I noticed that both Tez Johnson and Dillon Gabriel did NOT fight for extra yardage or take-on a tackler near the sideline. They simply got as far as they could and stepped out. In the case of Tez, he did that, and after catching a pass over the middle and making two tacklers miss--he was approached head-on by two more defenders, and simply went down. Good! He would not have made any more yardage, and this kept him from getting injured. I assume his shoulder is not fully healed, and perhaps this is the "deal" he made with the medical staff in order to play? Regardless, I applaud it. Stay healthy to fight another down... Third: There were no touchdown passes to Kenyon Sadiq during season, but two wonderfully designed plays for him to score touchdowns in the first quarter? A wheel route where he hurdled the guy, and a second coming out of the backfield from the H-Back position. Starting to unveil more of the playbook--GOOD! I've got more that will be in a semi-analysis article later this week. Thoughts? P.S. We have had thousands of Buckeye fans reading this forum, as I noted huge numbers of readers last night, and when I checked a couple IP Addresses....they were in Ohio!

Lane Kiffin... So Much SEC Whining

Right. A three-loss team that included losses to .500 teams should be allowed in? Saban is SO PROUD! -
11-1 Oregon Men's B-Ball Moves Up to No.9

No doubt, this is the highest the Ducks have been ranked this early, in a very long time. (If ever!) Yet we have players who are not shooting well, and others still getting it together. If it all happens--this is a very scary team that can make some noise! Supreme Cook, (above) is just beginning to emerge... -
So...Indiana Didn't Belong, but Tennessee DID?

Funny how that narrative goes on ESPN, talking on-and-on about not only the Hoosiers weaknesses, and how they did not belong...but to even suggest that the B1G is no different than the ACC or Big-12? So how did the ACC do yesterday? I was disappointed that Indiana kept trying to run the ball when it was evident that ND was stronger in the trenches. Their QB was accurate, and they scored two TDs in the last five minutes; imagine if they had built a game plan on what they are good at from early in the game? And then the 'Vols come along with all the hype, and we saw NONE of what was claimed. Did they belong? Actually, I believe they ALL belonged and deserved their chance. You never know on a given day, although the higher seeded teams won easily at home...as they should in a correctly seeded bracket. I like Jon Joseph's idea and have the entire Playoffs at the home field of the higher seeded teams all the way until the final, of which is at a moving neutral location, like the NFL does with the Super Bowl. Make it 14 teams with the top two sitting out the first round, or make it 16 with no conference championships and we start it earlier. And I hope the winner of the Oregon-Ohio State game wins the 'Natty and shuts those ESPN pie-holes up.
