  1. RJ Gordon shines in pitcher's duel as Oregon takes game one over Arizona 247SPORTS.COM RJ Gordon shines in pitcher's duel as Oregon takes game one over Arizona
  2. You will not get a pass here on this topic. If we are both to be in Big-2 conferences, then we need to play a big-boy schedule that is balanced. The Georgia schedule versus Ohio State for example is horrendously unbalanced, as the Buckeyes get it much easier than you. This should not be happening. To generate the most revenue with home games, and to even the playing field...ALL Power-4 conference teams should play the same amount of conference games. With as large as our conferences are now--we should be playing ten conference games a year with no conference championship, IMHO. So when you are playing Georgia Tech...we are playing Washington?
  3. Oregon wins a pitching duel 2-1! Arizona is a traditional Baseball power who has won national championships, one of which was when Coach Waz was there as an assistant. They had a losing record coming into this game, but it was a ton of one-run losses to nationally ranked foes. Deceiving to look at their record... Then I noted that their starting pitchers had ERAs at half that of ours. Not good... But RJ Gordon really broke out tonight with just one run given up over six innings, and then relievers kept it that way between Brock Moore, Bradley Mullan and Logan Mercado. Incredible! And with the relievers only going one inning each...they can pitch again tomorrow night! This puts Oregon at 5-2, and at the top of the Pac-12 for now...let's keep winning and hold it! Game on live-stream tomorrow at 2:05 PM Pacific. It will end about an hour before the basketball game begins--a good day! RJ Gordon This was Oregon's first Friday night victory, thus a crucial step forward.
  4. Only three SEC teams left out of eight in Texas A&M, Alabama and Tennessee...and we haven't started the second round yet? (I never said I was noble)
  5. Unbelievable. Buffs Beat Florida 102-100! Yale beats Auburn 78-76 Madness? Or OVERRATED?
  6. It is not even that, in my view. They are a G-5 set of teams, and nothing, even these millions thrown at them will change that. The money will not make any difference...which makes the stealing that much more sickening. A charade that everyone sees through, and yet they continue to play it...
  7. "The victory punctuated a $6 million day for WSU and Oregon State. Those two schools collected three more NCAA Tournament “units” as the conference posted a 3-0 record on Thursday. The “Pac-2” also earned another unit when Colorado won its “First Four” game on Wednesday. And the No. 10 seed Buffaloes play No. 7 Florida on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Pac-12’s current NCAA Tournament tally: $16 million… and counting. That money will be distributed to the two remaining conference members over the next six years. That is on top of $60 million in previously earned distributions from prior tournaments. It’s all part of the growing war chest that the two schools could use for rebuild."
  8. I can't resist...I am such a terrible sport! (But I never said I was noble) From the South Carolina forum... "Those of you who spent all week writing off Oregon should look in the mirror." "Lot of guys said the Pac 12 was bad, Dante is overrated." "I’m not sure I saw people writing off Oregon. We were confident in our own team. Huge difference." "I saw plenty of posts saying the Pac 12 was weak and Dante is overrated." "Oregon knew exactly how to attack us and they did it the entire game. It was like watching a good running game in football eating our **** up on the line of scrimmage." "I'll admit, I wrote off Oregon. Didn't realize their Center was the Hulk and didn't play for them a lot of the year. Just saw the pac12 as mediocre compared to what we did." "Still kinda sad that they have a 25 year old." (Couisnard) "I can’t see a talented G-League 25 yr old still in college after 6 yrs player having a bad game against a bunch of 22 yr old college guards." "They couldn’t miss. Yet again another team has magic shot making ability. Couisnard, naturally, went off. To me, it seemed like so much out of our control was going against us. As already mentioned, Oregon hardly missed. It’s absurd. The refs called stupid fouls against us and let their guys do whatever almost. Announcers and everyone else just seemed to be against us. It just had that vibe of an overwhelming force against us that we got starry eyed against and just couldn’t handle it." "Lost to a hotter team, no interior options limited outside game as Oregon pushed out on shooters with little impact. Need to be able to break down with penetration to rim which only Meechie really made routine effort . Disappointing watching a former destroy us… you know he will look pedestrian against next opponent." "Would it surprise anyone that Oregon loses in round two and Couisnard scores six points?" "It's going to happen, and we all know it." "Wouldn’t be surprised if Oregon makes the Final Four..." "Dante will have 3 fouls 8 minutes in." "Dante will foul out in the first half with 4 points." "They are going to get smoked by Creighton IMO."
  9. From a South Carolina Gamecock forum... "I watched Creighton today....they are slow and not particularly athletic...Their Big guy is good, but Oregon has two bigs who are just as good and way quicker and more athletic. Oregon will win. (We also would have beat Creighton who would have been a much better matchup for us than Oregon who is BOTH tall and athletic.....something we don't match up with well."
  10. This is someone to watch as he also has a change-up, and a nasty breaking pitch. In another interview--he had nothing but fantastic things to say about the coaching staff and the culture at Oregon! 11. Folks...let's just share our opinions, and that is it. Nothing about anyone else and their opinions or I start clicking on buttons.
  12. It is not about that; you have a massive built-in advantage that everyone can see a mile away.
  13. Famous last words… I did not write that. I copied the quote from the South Carolina 247 Sports Message Board. It was from one of them. (We need to give proper attribution credit in our business, Dr. Hilarius)
  14. It is crazy...a set up to hurt the other Big-2 Conference when we all should be going to 10 conference games. Can you imagine the revenue at Autzen if we expanded 12,000 seats and had FIVE B1G games there each year?
  15. We can put articles about the game in this thread, and where ever you want to comment, in this thread or others...do it. Relish this victory!
  16. Let’s get this party started! Hit your threes to win, Ducks!
  17. Wowsa! Thanks for letting us know...whew! I did NOT see that coming! Nor he!
  18. The Buffs are sneaky good team...as we know losing to them twice! Won't be long and I'll pay no attention to "Pac-12" teams, but I wish them the best for the month of March...
  19. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch! "I NEVER said I was Noble."
