  1. Cale Gundy is related to Mike Gundy. I'll pass on that one.
  2. Good for the players, I guess. But not good for the sport. College football may not exist in 10 years. Wait until a prominent basketball coach takes another job and poaches his entire team away.
  3. Oh please. It's still LA. Show us all those winning playoff rings, Lincoln.
  4. I'm not saying he can't go. He just has to sit out a year. Like the good old days.
  5. "Houston, we have a problem." With Riley leaving OK for USC, what's to keep him from poaching OK's top players and taking them to SC where they would be immediately eligible? Perhaps players following their coach should have to sit out a year and lose that year of eligibility.
  6. I may be in the minority here, but I think the OT rules prior to this year were fine. Sure you may get a crazy 7 OT game once a decade, but that's no reason to get rid of a system that's reasonably fair to both teams. Current system with two-point conversions beginning with third OT is fluky. I suppose you could make one change to pre-2021 rules to require two-point attempts after all TD's.
  7. If you recorded yesterday's game on ESPN, you will find that ESPN didn't switch over from Florida-FSU until late in the first quarter of our game, by which time the Ducks led 14-0. If you want to see pretty much the full game, a three hour replay will be shown at 3:00 a.m. Pacific Monday morning on ESPNU. Specifically applies to Comcast in the Portland area, but I don't know why it would be different on other cable systems. Set those DVR's!
  8. By then, they will be tired of him going for it on 4th and 3 from his own 30,
  9. Pronounce it Willa-met just to confuse the nation more.
  10. Better Cougar teams than this have gagged in the Apple Cup. While I'm rooting for them to beat the Fuskies, my confidence level is low.
  11. Still planning on wearing mine. Another surge being felt in many states and in Europe.
  12. Pardon the negativity, but that was painful to watch.
  13. With the disparity among teams with their non-conference scheduling, I'm glad they keep it to league results.
  14. If Beavers and Cougars both win, we have a three way tie at 6-3 Each team is 1-1 against the others. No advantage there. The next tiebreaker is record against other North Division teams. Cougars would be 4-1. Ducks and Beavers 3-2. Therefore, Cougars win the North.
  15. September 3, 2022 vs. Georgia. We need an experienced QB to have any chance of being competitive.
  16. Again, if the Cougars win on Friday, the Beavers are eliminated.
  17. Maybe it's just me, but . . . A blow out loss like last night is easy for me to get over in the short run. But it leaves long-term worries about the future of program. In contrast, a close loss is devastating in the short run. Lots of second-guessing of key play calls. No "if only we had done this". Lots of bitching about the officials. But when the immediate shock wears off, you're still left with a good team and hope for the future. I'm worried. Losses on and off the field are piling up.
  18. Since it appears obvious Mario doesn't trust Thompson, Butterfield or Ashford, we will be needing an experienced QB out of the portal in the off-season. Any guess on who it might be?
