Only time will tell if we will miss Mario........
Depends on how many 7-5 or 8-4 seasons we may have with Coach Lanning. That's the risk in any coaching change.
I keep reminding myself that Mario caused this coaching change. It was his choice........
IMHO, the Ducks, with all that talent were not going to the CFP or win a Natty under Mario.
The talent was being recruited. However the Coaching talent was lacking. If you can't steam roll or dominate the PAC?
It truly takes great coaching combined with great talent to win a Natty.
We were lacking one of those ingedients........
With Mario it wasn't going to happen and don't think for a minute that this class would have been top 5 o top 9. His class was trending towards around 10 which isn't terrible but if you can't coach a QB up then what's the sense. There is a lot of great recruiters that you do need to get top 10 classes continuously. I would have to believe that Lanning knows how to coach up a defense and it's players. All these guys are teachers and we did have a lot of injuries. So this needs to be fixed and I'm thinking to much weight training from last S@C Coach.
Flowe's been hurt 2 years running and that just doesn't bode well and honestly I really don't want that guy's season ruined again. So if I'm Lanning I'm waiting for Justin to be 100% because the guy is a one man wrecking crew.

Please let us all recall that what was once a recruiting violation is allowable today and compared with 2012 , the NCAA is a toothless tiger.
Have you been to College Station, TX.? I have. Don't go. How do you think Jimbo rounded up the best recruiting class in the country? A+M last won a title in the 1930's and Jimbo has a title because he recruited Jameis to FSU. A+M is one of the 4 AAU member schools in the SEC, but I doubt these recruits focused on educational opportunities when committing to Aggie land.
Every OL guy who now signs and plays with Texas is paid $50,000 a season. Every guy on the roster at Miami is 'paid' $6,000 a year. Every walk-on at BYU has his tuition and cost of attendance paid for. And these are the deals that we know about.
I don't think many the fan out west 'gets this?' There are less than a handful, if that, of schools in the Pac-12 that have the money to recruit at championship level. The Pac-12 is not playing playoff quality football and is not sending guys to the pros like the SEC and the B1G. So, if you have offers in a better conference, why play in the Pac-12?
SMH that a number of fans think that a new commish playing a dead hand is going to turn things around for the Pac-12 in CFB? USC will be in the playoff in 2024? Media is going to pay big money because SC might come back? I don't see it. And BTW when Pete Carroll was at SC, for the most part he was not competing against the LA Rams and the LA Chargers. And the SEC had yet to cement its spot as the It Conference.
Let's compare Pac-12 champion Utah with South Carolina. Utah set a school record with 52,000 fans attending to watch the Utes/Ducks regular season game. As Stewart Mandel recently noted the Utes are generally unknown nationally because of the location in the mountain time zone, bad starting times and having to play on the Pac-12 network. South Carolina, a team that has never won an SEC title routinely draws 85.000+ fans to every home game. Routinely draws more eyeballs to media broadcasts of its game than do 10 of the Pac-12 member schools.
For Oregon to have a chance in this recruiting environment it has to play the pay for play game. Has to. Oregon has the money to do so. USC has the money to do so. UW has the money to do so. SC and Oregon spend far more on football than the other Pac-12 teams. Yet SC and Oregon get the same share of the proceeds as their 'partners' investing far less? Why? Why remain in a partnership like this? Remaining would not happen in the 'real world.' Big boy CFB is real world business and should not be treated differently by the top partners in the Pac-12 enterprise.
CFB is no longer collegial. No longer regional. It is a big time nationwide big business and the 'leaders' of the Pac-12 not seeing this should not blind Oregon to seeing this.
Thanks Jon and I never believed the SEC was getting away with anything and I new they were cheating a long time ago. When Cam's father was asking for the highest bidder I mean OH my gosh as in why would he do such a thing if there never was indiscrepancy going on. Yes Sir I've already believed if Oregon wants to compete then Phil needs to pay for that Championship and this is waht it has come down to. You want to take down BAMA then pay more than them in everything otherwise this is a waste of time.

Yes it's about time. The time is evolving for Oregon and I think they have the general idea of what this is gonna take now to reach the level as a Championship organization. The evolution it seemed to me was taking to long! Well I can say now I fill like we went out and got way better than Mario was going to give us. Go Ducks. Just Do It!

I had my money on Ashford transferring. While he's got a ton of athletic talent, it feels like his development was further behind TT and Butters because he was splitting time between 2 sports. I hope he does well wherever he lands.
He looks like he could play BB also as he's talented just not enough to sit while coach's don't coach you up to your potential and that's all any player can ask and that's why I came here to get better and play football. Maybe the NFL next but we will never see this CF game back in the day. To bad and Oregon from Mullins and Knight along with Lanning and his staff need to get that next level and stop hovering. Now my new slogan will be Get it done! 3 of those losses came at the end of the season when your supposed to be playing your best. Mario a true head scratcher.

I am an older Duck fan, from the time of George Pasero, sports writer and close follower of the Ducks. From classic games in Multnomah Stadium, U. of O. v. the Huskies, Southern Cal and such. As a former student at the U. of O. the 1958 Rose Bowl game Oregon No 0 against Ohio State No. #1 in the nation with 3 All Americans in the backfield; especially "Bobby White."
A man from my fraternity house, Jerry Kershner, others J.C. Wheeer, Ron Stover, Dave Fish, Harry Mondale, Charlie Tourville, Jack Morris were good average players who wanted to show the L.A. scribes, calling the boys fom "Oregon," stumpjumpers were going to lose by 50 + points? One weapon the Buckeyes did not know; we had a coach by the name of "Len Casonova who had his players finely tuned up and these guys could have walked on water when stepping onto the turf at the Rose bowl. The Duck fans were vivid in their yellow and green outfits and the roar of the Oregon fans was deafening.
These high spirited young stallions outplayed the Buckeyes in about every statistic except the score. The final was 10-7, settled by a lone field goal as the Ducks missed theirs in the closing moments in the 4th quarter. From watching many Duck games, the type of coaching is a key ingrediant to winning. Rich Brooks, Chip Kelly, Len Casanova, were the kind of coaches that were surrogate fathers.
They were much more than coaches but men of unusual character that their players held in the highest respect and regard. I have been witness to a rapid turnover of coaches in the last 6 years that does not bode well for a winning, championship teams. I know little to nothing of the new coaching staff coming to Oregon in 2022, and do know a coach can make or break a team in winning and losing.
As an old and loyal Duck I want to see the new coaches lite the spark and create the Ducks into a National Championship final. As I am an ambitious fan as Phil Knight, wanting this to become a reality and a national championship for the Ducks and the State of Oregon.
Yes Sir!

OK fans are predicting he goes to UGA. Love it if he decided on the Ducks but I don't see it. If he signed at Oregon and other guys not as talented left; well, that's the nature of today's game and the portal.
No one in the QB room in 2021 was good enough to beat out Brown. Speaks for itself.
That's what they say. My belief is if no one was able to watch the practices then how do we really know. I anybody thinks I'm going to believe anything Mario said think again because the guy couldn't hold true to anything he said. Remember were gonna punch them in the mouth. Well I do and it was embarrassing to say the least with Utah that comes to mind. LOL he's gone thank God so now we can hopefully see a well ran throw down the field offense that wants to score. A defense that hasn't really lived up or coached up to it's proper ranking.
Maybe this all changes in one year as in 2022. Think about it our roster right now is better than any in the PAC including SC. So if Lanning and his staff can come in and better the recruiting and coaching them up we could very well not see a drop off while SC builds whatever they are trying to build. We need as fans Oregon to go out and do this I and many others have waited a long time. Seen the rise and changes to this program and it was innovation and it has worked well enough but not good enough to get to the top. All about the MONEY now!

In the aftermath of an atrocious bowl season, I have been sensing from many Oregon fans that the Pac-12 is doomed. Many fans feel the conference missed the boat by not expanding with the remaining Big 12 teams after Texas and Oklahoma bolted for the SEC. Some think that it is only a matter of time before USC and Oregon ...
Good stuff Darren and I have to agree on most points. Oregon unfortunately like you said had a HC that really his main goal was his " BABY " the O Line and that's exactly how he played it. I mean lets be honest this could have been an elite offense if the right guy was behind center. Defense had way to many injuries to key players to be dominant. Yes Sc in the blueblood and to me the old blueblood and pretty much a few Championships and if Oregon could just win one I as well as a lot of my fellow Ducks could be very happy. I'm talking just 1.

I just hope Oregon gets to the promised land soon because I cannot agree at all 100 % the way the greed has now filtered to a game I really loved to watch. After what happened with our season it was a huge way to get gut punched. Either way I can't even nor ever side with these players that are now it's all about the money. This is not close to the game it used to be and now bingo we got greedy rich people wanting to take every good thing out of this once a league of fun has turned to players thinking everybody owes them.
The money changing hands is huge and they are turning it into a SEMI PRO league. Oregon please pay the bills it will take to lets all be honest, beat the SEC. It needs to happen soon or will it ever? Just lets be honest this brand they are creating is disrespecting the game. The game we love yet the sacrifices sometimes the emotional side can be kind of rough and man don't know about the rest of you but this year was a hard season to stomach more than others. Got to hope Oregon will just slap that permanent smile on your faces. Go Ducks better days ahead!
Its just me and I will never respect a player who wont play or opt's out as that's not what these young men should be able to do. Its like this they signed a letter for a " FREE RIDE " 4 years or whatever it takes for them to Graduate because there's only a select few that go on to the next level. I'm being facetious it isn't free and I would imagine would put any kid wanting a degree around 100 Grand for that. I could go on about just that right there. So play the game regardless. So I'm sure this is just gonna get way out of hand and it will come back and eventually bite them.

I would add, build it, don't just boast about it. Coach Lanning, the sincerity and willingness to come across straight is refreshing. If it looks like it is going to take a while, a few quarters, games, seasons, to get this done don't switch into telling us what we want to hear.
I love hearing about how difficult something is going to be and then seeing somebody overdeliver. The opposite will drive this fanbase nuts. The Oregon fanbase has been through a long process to success. We can work through some tough times, with the bright yellow glow off in the distance.
I will diverge from Charles charge that our DNA doesn't include a Georgia type defense, never settle for reasonable. If an elite defense is what you want, don't stop trying, change our DNA. Bring in the big bodies, the 5*'s and make it happen. I actually think the Pac-12 would buckle under a tough defense like Georgia. That is your difference from Riley down at sc. They will try and be all offense and you can destruct sc with defense and our offense.
I mean 4 of our top 12 recruits all-time were on the defensive side of the ball this season. We lose Thibs, but you bring in Cyrus Moss, a few others and you are on your way. Don't give up on your dream, if that is the defense you had at Georgia!
The main item is bring speed back to Oregon. Hopefully you have toured Hayward Field by now and talked to Robert Johnson. Create some synergies which had occurred between the track program and the football team. That is an amazing tool, use it. That is what the Oregon brand use to be, speed kills!
Most importantly recruit and develop the skill players on offense. There is plenty of room in the Oregon Program for more Heisman's and National Championship Trophies. The sky is the limit while you are at Oregon, but keep your feet in Nike's and firmly planted on the ground!
I just wiped a tear off my eye. Go Ducks! Yes I believe MLK said once a time ago but it still ring's true today I believe I've heard already some of the high ranking D line kids are interested in Oregon and why not. If you can pay them now why not more than everybody else? We have seen Oregon evolve and it might just take a little different approach this time but who cares as long as the intentions are National Championship. I've already said on here that A@M was paying their O Lineman 50 grand each. That's incentive!

My FishDuck Friends, it is my earnest hope that this message reaches Head Coach Dan Lanning and Offensive Coordinator Kenny Dillingham, as what I am writing represents the feelings and hopes of hundreds of thousands loyal Oregon fans. We want to see a return to the Oregon Brand, which consists of an offense that is high scoring and very entertaining ...
I concur with ya my fellow green and yellow Duck Dog! We need some speed also from our RB position. I miss those days of blasting opponents by 4 scores. I miss the Barner, James, Tyler show. I do believe that there is some pretty great back 7 players and deep at both positions and the D line returners will still be pretty good inside and outside defenders. I am quite sure whatever we will see come Spring it will be better looking than that crapola we were fed for Mario's tenure. the line coaches We dodged a couple bullets from Mario.
We cant complain to much because I think we all believe were getting a lot better with the new than what just left. He did leave the roster in decent order and that's all he did while here, he never wowed us with high scoring offenses and come to have watched line coaches over OCs and DCs the line coaches don't seem to get it over the other's. I can understand maybe playing that ball control crap we were fed for 4 seasons for maybe the last 2 minutes of the game then ok, just not for 4 QTRs.

Buttsniffers... thats funny! Considering how bad the Fuskies have been, are we sure we want any of 'em?
Ben Roberts film says we are getting a guy who should be able to get into next years rotation and he has all the tools to be great not good but great. As we've all seen we still seem to be having a hard time recruiting even 4 star DL here. That's the one position that Oregon is the worst at. Now LB and DB is a whole different animal and I think we have as good back there as anyone not named Bama or Georgia. I counted quite a few 4 star DL just in the state of Texas and we didn't sign one. Could this change, well Tosh Lupoi is finally coming to Eugene and that's clearly why.
The guy has recruited 4 and 5 star DL guys wherever he's been and other positions as well. So I expect on February 5th we will get at least 2 Four star DT's on this squad. Also these former Husky DL obviously see the what's going on down south of them and it's been eye opening for quite some time now. Yes they are sniffing out Buttocks odor clear up there and they not be liking it one bit. HAHAHA LOL you royal BUTTSNIFFERONNIES.

I am sorry if this is a bit much, but I have NEVER seen anything like this in my years of being an Oregon fan. First we turn a couple of their verbals to us, then recruit their players leaving them via the portal, and now take their elite recruiter WR coach?
It is so rare that I have to savor it while I can, and yeah...I appreciate alliteration! (Below is from a major Husky forum)
If you leave UW to go to UO...
"You were never a Dawg. There is no way any self-respecting Dawg would have anything to do with UO. This is true whether you're a coach, who are somewhat mercenaries, or even more so if you were a player. You've now been expunged from Husky history and will henceforth no longer be considered a Dawg, only traitorous pond scum. Fan speak to be sure, but it's how I feel. Screw them."
"Position coaches are strictly “climbers “, of course he wasn’t a “dawg”…. Having said that, defecting to that school is nauseating and shameful."
"Leaving UW for Oregon is an act of treason. There is no higher crime."
How it Looks for Washington...
"It’s bad optics to continue to get our lunch taken by the chief rival (see: Roberts, Mells, etc.). Perception drives reality, whether he’s a good coach or not."
"Find this very difficult to believe. But if it does play out and Adams leaves, UW needs a new athletic director."
"Is he (Adams) that great a recruiter? Not sure about that."
Answer: "McMillan, Rome, Puka and Germie all would agree with me. Those 4 are better pulls than any other WR coach we’ve had in decades. All from out of state too."
How can we NOT have fun with this?
Love it Fish and man they be a " HATING ' that legendary Green and Yellow and Puddles to boot. I will have to agree with one thing only to what that one poster said. If your an ex Duck player that's just one place you never ever put in a resume to coach any position coach on that team. That's why I clearly have a bad taste in my mouth about Wilcox and he crossed the line in going there period. The Washington Husky's have clearly shown their disdain for Oregon from way back in the day. I'm talking over 70 years of their ridiculous hate.
Anyways what I'm trying to say about the people up north is this quit acting like children your supposed be adults. It is pretty funny though how far they have fallen. The HC that just took that job has got a huge task he might not even be able to fix. We should be grateful for Oregon and what they are trying to get done even though I think it's gonna take a bit more to get the one goal that has just passed us by like 4 close times. It just takes once so everything needs to line up correctly so hopefully Ty is ready to take the QB position and not look back.
If it's Bo Nix then so be it and I know Oregon fans want points back like at least a 40 point a game avg and a DC that knows how to slow down offenses and great at game planning against the best. Recruiting or final recruiting will be here in just a tad over a month so that first and second SPRING PRACTICE then team workouts and positioning for summer and hopefully an LSU type of season a couple years back when they whipped everybody including BAMA to win it all. We wont have to talk about the Purple ugly's up north again except for laughing at their losses.

Great topic. Your brain must never sleep?
In fairness to any AD or Coach, it's important to remember this is a business. In my 40 plus years of experience deciding who to hire is difficult.
Quessing who will succeed is difficult. Even with a previous track record or references. Usually the deciding difference is how the person sells themselves.
We often hear AD'S talk about how they were sold on a new coach based upon that new coaches vision and plan. Basically the new coach sold themselves.
So, a large buyout can help protect the school from poachers. But it is a double edge sword when the coach under performs.
It's a roll of the dice or a flip of a coin.
Throw in the boosters with their big dollars and high expectations and the final decision can get clouded.
Let's use Texas A & M and FSU as an example. They saw the success that Jimbo Fisher had at FSU. The Aggies and their boosters wanted him bad. 10 years $75 million bad....
He got an extension and now gets $9 million per season. Fisher is a above average 34-14 thru 4 seasons. In a division where you can't lose 2 games I wonder if Aggie fans and boosters are feeling a little let down? Left wanting more.....
After all Jimbo killed it at FSU. The man can coach and recruit. Since his departure the Seminoles have fallen hard. Their AD made at least 1 bad HC hire since Jimbo left.
So was Fishers success because he took over a powerhouse program at FSU? A program in a weak conference. Once Dabo turned Clemson around, FSU could not hold them off.
With Bama, LSU and Auburn on your schedule every year. 9-3 may be the Aggies peak. Jimbo is a top recruiter but can he coach against the top teams in the top division in all of college football?
Because it's a learning curve it may well depend on everyone's expectations.
Repeated 8-4 or 9-3 seasons at Oregon will not meet fans expectations. Not on this forum....
And not with Phil and big dollar boosters........
So coaches will come and go. Either fired by the school or looking for a different pasture.......
The Hurricanes proved that $9 million dollar buyouts mean very little.
Just my opinion......
Ask yourself, we're you satisfied with the Ducks record the last 4 years? Or did you want more?
Depends on your expectations...
You could say A@M is as loaded as both BAMA and Georgia. What's going on at A@M to not be getting results with the product? You can also say the same things at Oregon though they may not be full of 4 and 5 stars and may never be but the results were a huge let down with the talent that far out weighed Utah's by a mile. Prime example is SC every year like clock work all those sports media people that really had or have no clue about the sport most the time and just because they like sports and went to four years of journalism does not make a knowledgeable football analyst. They picked SC because they were always so loaded yet the product on the field failed. Why? Many reasons you could say.
Far from it and that's what were mostly bomb barded with now is all these ideas just like a guy who was supposed to be a football intelligent at the NFL level when he said anybody basically who takes Hebert should or would be fired. I mean that in itself was a bold statement. So what would make this guy say such an absurd thing? Well I guess most of could be to Mario not remotely knowing what he had and Arroyo along with Mario coast him that first pick in the draft. Hey I whole heartedly believe this is the case because he clearly only knows OL.
Then you could also make a case that maybe he's not the best OL Coach out there because if you watch the Stanford and Utah games his O Line got punched in the mouth and one of his boring favorite lines he seemed to love. It got real old. Back to the A@M and I've heard and I don't know if this is true but someone said they pay all their O Lineman 50 grand. Well if it's allowed and I was Phil Knight I'd pay all my O Lineman 75 grand and he can afford that chump change all day long. Remember he's a Billionaire quite a few times over.
I've said it and this is the truth Oregon is a Business their football program and Phil is the business partner with the backing to make this all work and whether he does this or not we will see soon enough. I'm thinking and this is just my opinion he's not in enough to make this all go towards what we've missed I'd say about at least 4 times and that's a NATTY. Nothing more nothing less. Its that proverbial saying S--- or get off the pot! He has no desire to buy the Blazers so the Ducks are obviously his baby and he needs to make baby feel a whole lot better.
Honestly I wish Shough would have stayed and played instead of Brown, but I did expect way more than what happened at the end. The thing is your team should be playing their best at season's end not losing 3 out of 4 to end what should have been a whole lot different. So this was clearly on Mario's inability to stay out of his own head and let the coach's you hired do their jobs and be willing to cut tie's with the one's who don't and this shouldn't be to hard because the one's that win all the time are the same coach's that don't have Mario issue's.

A coaching commitment goes both ways. If we sour on Dan or had on Mario then door would swing the other way. It isn't just the coach who can pull the trigger.
I don't have a problem with coaches leaving Oregon as long as they leave it in better condition than when they came. Chip left Oregon in great shape, although his recommendation of Helfrich didn't work out. Helfrich then left Oregon in a mess. Taggart left Oregon on the edge of chaos. We were fortunate we were able to have backed off from that cliff. Mario leaves Oregon in much better shape than when he took over, kudos to him.
Dan Lanning job is to keep building and make sure the Oregon Football Program continues it's rise up the ladder of football programs. Does he owe us a lifetime commitment, no. I think he owes us at least 3 years, maybe 4. There should be a massive buyout at least until year 4.
I would say his buyout should grow through year 4. If he has success at Oregon then he becomes more valuable, because we helped him get there. Maybe after 4 years the buyout begins to tail off, he has give us the commitment to build the program. From then on it is more about each being happy with each other.
If we are real about it then after year 4 we start the discussion about his commitment and an exit strategy. He needs to have an assistant ready to be head coach. Maybe it is naive to think we should plan for Dan to leave, but something should be done to help ensure we don't endure another scenario we have seen repeatedly.
The problem in this whole formula is what if Dan becomes Mark, can't lead the team? I suppose we just owe him the $29ish million 6 year contract. It is a risk we had to take.
The big question is what is the commitment, on both sides? I don't think it has to be what Mario tried to sell us on, or even what Dan seems to indicate. I do think there are commitments, what should they be, how should it be structured?
I mean in reality H this should be a great job for anyone. You don't have to look very far from the recourses now at Oregon as in ridiculous so why leave is my point. The only thing I would love to see is a more seating capacity or build up Autzan to accommodate up to 70 thousand. Or build a brand new state of the art stadium with maybe the prospects of sharing it with a NFL franchise some day. The state of Oregon refuses to come into the 20th century in just about everything and I hate it. Phil has the money to build it many times over so I wish he would. Just my thoughts.

Jordan thanks for summarizing all that has transpired since Coach Lanning took over as Duck footballs Top Chef..
As a youngster, I would watch my Mom or Nana add their ingredients to whatever wonderful dish they were cooking..
The excitement and anticipation sometimes were just too much. But the results of their efforts were worth the wait. Them sweet ladies were Top Chefs........
Coach Lanning is definitely cooking something special. Looking forward to see what additional ingredients he adds to the mix.
With February signing day and spring ball right around the corner, this off season has my full attention.
Others on this forum have mentioned that our previous coach usually won the off season. I must admit that he could get top level ingredients to cook.
But he just wasn't a great chef and never will be a Top Chef.........
Let's hope Coach Lanning and his staff develop into Top Chefs........
Hey we need a greta coah Nana!

While I hated the idea the program was beginning to be defined as merely a recruiting powerhouse, I also appreciated the effort. What Mario did in 4 years was impressive. From all indications what Dan Lanning is doing is equally or more impressive, as you make the case for.
I think the scary part for me is will the Oregon faithful be too quick to define Dan as another Mario? Notre Dame has a young coach who arguably blew his bowl game. What if Dan shows his youthfulness, and makes mistakes which echo things we saw with Mario? Will the Oregon fans begin to boo Bo Nix, a three and out? We could definitely start the season 1-2, very easily. That would include to a team whose coach we didn't hire.
Dan Lanning is going to give it his all. It is amazing to see him do two jobs right now, and pretty well. The question will be what kind of growing pains will he have as he takes over the head coaching duties?
I am a little concerned there is no one with head coaching experience within this staff. I know there will be a learning curve, but the Oregon fanbase has proven it isn't as patient as it once was.
I hope Dan comes up with 10 plus wins out of the gate, but the real question is what if he doesn't? Can the Oregon Football Program get behind a coach who seems to be putting the program behind where a coach they questioned was.
I agree I am excited about everyone thing I hear out of the Dan Lanning era. The problem is the rubber really hits the road once the season starts. We are no longer happy to win the recruiting wars, or just win 10 games. That fascination is over, the program expects big things, now.
Great stuff Heyward and yes this roster is built for a run into the Playoff's and it's still the QB position we really have no clue about and that hopefully will work itself out. Remember Nix and Lanning know Georgia so like the OS game if you want any upset of a team of the Bulldogs capabilities then the first game should be your gunning point to victory. Oregon is loaded and I like our chances and hopefully we can just keep it in house and not betaking games like this. Its like scheduling BAMA your first game, not wise. Heck we couldn't even beat Utah twice.
10 win season shouldn't be a problem but can Duck fans be happy with say only 10 wins because that just isn't going to get your team in and it's his job now to do this and the Man needs to come out of the shute red hot and Rollin. OH we used to have a Blazer rant like that in the good ol days. Honestly HD we are really loaded so I say I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we win back the PAC 12 and get back into the playoff's. Now does anyone know how many teams the playoff's will have?

Let’s be honest. If Mario Cristobal were returning to Eugene for a fifth season, this time of year would be pretty drab. After four years, Oregon football fans finally knew what to expect from the Miami native and they weren’t necessarily SUPER STOKED about what they were seeing. Looking back, the hopeful justifications in the run-up to a new season ...
YES can I get a Duck and raise you 10 5th star Ducks! I am stoked and I kid you not to see Mr Flowe stay and this is to me huge. The guy has Ray Lewis qualities and no disrespect against Noah Justin is just a different animal. I've seen the film of the guy and it just wreaks of assassin and with him and Sewell and all these other studs and I mean I've seen the LB roster for lets just say quite a few years now and they have a lot of talent there as well as at Defensive Back never before seen here in Eugene. I just pray to GOD that he can play for everybody to see.

Guess what? Bama and UGA have bigger, stronger faster guys. I know, you are shocked.
Why does anyone want to play a college football , so-called playoff against these semi pros?
These 2 semi final games put the BOR into BORING.
Then rest of the SEC has done nothing bowl wise.
How about a B1G 12, PAC-12, B1G and ACC run for the Roses.
It just means more for you SEC guys and a hell of a lot less for the rest of us .You can round up the best HS players; who gives w whip.
THIS is where the BCS and BCS x 2 has led CFB; led a once great regional sport to southeast nirvana.
Agree and I can only hope that if they are really paying players and they are is that Phil Knight opens up his " STUFFED " bank account and he should if he really wants to see this happen before you know what happens as we don't and cannot live forever in this system. Phil I would think doesn't have very long to go to see Oregon win it all. Go Ducks.

Yes indeed lets support coach Lanning and more so against BAMA. Georgia needs to win this game in a huge way and by that I don't mean score and of coarse it would be awesome if they beat them by 20 but even if it's 3 points Its a win in my book. No more Alabama championships please. Time for Kirby to out coach his predecessor and take it away from BAMA. Go coach Lanning and hopefully your D shuts them down this time. When is the game?

Well this is a very interesting development.
Taki Taimani is a 6'2" 330 lb DT with starting experience. More size up front is never a bad thing. Of course Huskies fans lost it when he put up that Twitter pic.
Had to laugh when they talked about kids that went to Puyallup went to Washington for Championship's! You notice it was plural as in like in their clouded minds they were in many. LOL and the one they did allegedly win and I think they shared it with BYU it had a whole lot of cheating allegations to go with it. So if you cheat like they did and SC their last ALLEGED Championship you know the one where Bush was given over six figures and you know he wasn't the only one. Tamani looks the part so hopefully Lanning and Tosh can make him a whole lot better.

Dennis Dodd Grades New Coaching Hires: Mario Over Lanning?
in Our Beloved Ducks
Posted
Lanning is a new HC so no matter what I don't think anyone and especially sports media writers. Honestly what do they know anyways. Riley number 1 who never ever even competed in the Natty as his teams seemed to always get spanked. Cristabol who's lines he said would dominate. Did he watch Mario's bread and butter and his awful coaching when games were important. I give Lanning a A and who went with Mario on his coaching staff? Pretty much Minnie Me which who cares the guy wouldn't be hired by anyone.
I'm pretty sure most his coach's didn't like him. Tosh chose Lanning over Mario and that's an A+ in my book. Honestly don't let these guy's make your day because they wont. Oregon is back to getting no respect and rightfully so because the ending of this season was horrible. The Alamo bowl shouldn't have concerned Oregon and it was a waste of money to take it. McClendon said they would compete and in all honesty being down at halftime 30 -3 is not competing. Whatever they did in the second half as who cares they got smoked. 57 players was not enough.
Remember CBS which Dodd works for is all SEC based so your never gonna get anybody saying much good about Oregon. To me Lanning is a home run hire and if Georgia beats BAMA and I'm sure the majority of the country would also like to see that is only going to benefit Oregon in the long run. Go Ducks, Just Do It!
