  1. Unless the Surgeon General steps in, I think that it's Cig's to lose. 😁
  2. As I believed could be the case in the preseason, the Athens Dawgs was one of the SEC teams that looked like it was handed the short end of the SEC scheduling stick in 2024, and UGA took on Clemson in the opener and still has a feisty Georgia Tech team to play. Top 10 Tennessee visits Athens Saturday. Geogia has already played four games against teams in the Committee's Top 25, three on the road. Scheduling in these mega-conferences is all over the place when it comes to SOS. Georgia plays 8 conference games in 2024 and misses 7 SEC teams. OBD plays 9 conference games in 2024 and misses 7 B1G teams. In 2025, Michigan and Ohio State are not on the Oregon schedule. Georgia in 2025 plays the same cast of characters. MIami in 2024 plays 8 conference games and misses 8 conference teams including Clemson, Pitt, and SMU. Miami also misses half-ACC'd Notre Dame. Since 2017, Notre Dame is 45-7 vs the ACC in the regular season; 4-0 in 2024 with one ACC game leaft to be played vs UVA on Staurday. Notre Dame plays 4 G5 opponents in 2024 and of course, will not play a conference champ game. Was 3-loss Louisville ranked last week to justify Miami being ranked at No. 4. Louisville is Miami's sole top 25 win. Committee Chair Ward Manuel said Miami looked good according to the Committee's Eye Test. Did these folks not watch the VA Tech, Cal, and Duke games? In its win over Louisville, Tyler Shough had better stats than Cam Ward. In many respects, the Committee is doing what Greg Sankey and Tony Petitti feared, far too much eye-testing and not enough statistical analysis although we do not know the metrics this Committee uses and how the metrics are valued. I'm reasonably certain that Boise could defeat both BYU and Miami and I watched 4-5 Nebraska destroy CU. I hope the UGA team that trampled Texas shows up Saturday. The Bama team Tennessee played at home was certainly not the Bama team that destroyed LSU on Saturday. NIL and a mostly unrestricted right to transfer has spread the wealth and it shows first and foremost in the SEC. Vanquish the Vols! Wipe Out Wisconsin!
  3. Low of 46 degrees, 15% chance of rain. It will be nearer the low in the 2nd half and what will the wind be like coming off of Lake Mendota. "No problem, it's like going into Wisconsin." "I got the spam beat out of me in Wisconsin." If Dan can go 8-0 with a win over Ohio State and on the road at Michigan, he will be the only coach in the P4 to do so in 2024. Two of the last three games played three and two time zones away from Eugene and the last two opponents coming off Idle Weeks.
  4. Ducks Wire quoted Dan as saying they were monitoring and conscientious of, the number of James's carries this season. Lanning is well aware that this could be a 16 or 17-game season and you have to do what you can to keep players fresh. Especially a guy who relishes contact.
  5. This will be 8 in a row for OBD without a nap. Wisconsin is coming off a bye and it's a 6:30 local KO, plenty of time for Badgers fans to brewski it up. A bye week after Wisconsin and then UW at home before in all likelihood traveling to Indianapolis to play a rematch with Ohio State. The Ohio State which gave up 32 points to Oregon has allowed a total of 64 points in its 8 wins. Will Dez be good to go on 12/7 in Indy?
  6. Gimme 10! A Well-Earned Bonus for Danno! Oregon Ducks' Dan Lanning Earns One-Year Contract Extension Worth $9.4 Million WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The No. 1 Oregon Ducks remain undefeated thanks to a 39-18 victory over the unranked Maryland Terrapins in Autzen Stadium on Saturday night. 7. Week 2 Committee Rankings Prediction Predicting the 12-team College Football Playoff field ahead of Week 12 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A prediction of what the 12-team College Football Playoff field will look like heading into Week 12 of the 2024 season.
  8. A Game Ball for Bad Man Burch! Big Ten Game Balls for Week 11 SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Big Ten Game Balls for Week 11 are ready to be handed out following another weekend of action. BLAST THE BADGERS!
  9. But the Commodores could not sink Vanderbilt! Paaawwwwall, stay in your own lane!
  10. YES! An 11-1 OBD is playing in Indianapolis. OBD has the tiebreaker against 11-1 Ohio State, Penn State, and Indiana. UW raised the white flag last night in front of a White Out. Indiana at Ohio State on 11/23 will almost certainly decide OBD's champ game opponent, with Ohio State playing Northwestern on Saturday and the Buckeyes odds on to beat Michigan on 11/30. I do not see the Hoosiers losing against Purdue at home on 11/30, so it's 12-0 or 11-1 for Indiana. Penn State plays at Purdue on Saturday, at Minnesota on 11/23, the Gophers went down to Rutgers yesterday, and Maryland. WAX WISCONSIN!
  11. Thank you, Jordan, another terrific game recap. As you so noted it's November so Just Win Baby! Three undefeated P4 teams remain, OBD, Indiana, 10-0 for the first time in Hoosiers' history, and BYU with a very fortunate late 22-21 win in Salt Lake City. Army is the only undefeated G5 team. The Indiana win sets up a B1G PO Matchup Game in Columbus on 11/23. A 12-0 Oregon is playing in Indianapolis for the B1G title on December 7th as is an 11-1 Oregon with the tiebreaker over both Indy and Ohio State. UW once again did not fare well on the road. 😁 I Am Peeved! The Ducks game kicks off in Madison at 6:30 PM local time on NBC. The Fox Big Noon game is Utah at Colorado. CBS at 3:30 Eastern is broadcasting Penn State at Purdue! 😒 And the folks in the B1G offices in Chicago gave OBD back-to-back weeks of playing opponents coming off an Idle Week. Whatever, Just Win, Baby! The SEC? Georgia has no twitch, Bowers, McConkey, or game-breaking RB to help Beck. The Georgia O line looked like a sieve versus the Portal King's D line. Brian Kelly was 13-0 in night games at Tiger Stadium. He's now 13-1 with Bama emphatically shutting the door on LSU's Playoff hopes. Florida had a 3-star transfer from Yale at QB and not its 5* true Frosh stud. Not a good showing after the Florida AD announced that Billy Napier would be back in 2025. Which SEC team will show up on Saturday? UGA looked nothing like the team that defeated Texas. Texas looked nothing like the team that lost to Georgia. Ole Miss looked nothing like the team that lost to Kentucky in Oxford. And the Gamecocks sunk Vandy. Man, I would not want to be on the PO Committee. They best issue flak jackets to these folks. Thanks again, Jordan. WASTE WISCONSIN!
  12. Congrats! Along with UCLA, LA has another winner, and he's not named Riley. 😊
  13. Give the man a break, he managed to score a close win over STONED BROOK!
  14. AMEN! This should have been loss number 3, at least. VA Tech had a win. Cal Wilcoxed and firend Tyler Shough and Louisville outplayed the Canes. HOW can a team with so many 1 score wins over average teams possibly be ranked No. 4? Karma? For a guy who could not wait to tell the world he was the King of Football Florida. Atlanta is not that far over the border. Do YOU have any confidence in the folks ranking these teams? CFB is probably the only sport with a PO decided in a board room and not on the field or court or whatever, where the events are played. On 12/8/24, it will get ugly.
  15. Before today's Indiana vs Michigan game, Indy had and still has, no wins vs. a PO CT. top 25 team. OBD has two. Both OBD and Indy have 2 redular season games left. So, just because you are following another team does not mean you are paranoid, so I "believe" it's the alphabet at play. For OBD to be 10-0 was preseason expected. For the Football Hoosiers to be 10-0, first time in Indy football history, not so much. Google It. FWIW, I expect the Hoosiers will be hosed in Columbus on 11/23 by three or more TDs. And OBD will be bucking up against the Buckeyes in Indianapolis on what I hope will be a 2nd Day of Infamy for tOSU on 12/7/24. In its wins this season, Ohio State has given up 64 points. In the loss to OBD, Ohio State surrendered 32 points😍
  16. Hats Off to OBD! Game 7 in a row without a siesta. Top receiver down. Top RB dinged. And you come in as a 3 TD plus favorite against a team that had last Saturday off. IMO, a very good win in a perfect let down situation. Next Saturday, OBD is on the road for the 8th game in a row and again, against a team that had this Saturday off and playing in a tough Jump Around atmosphere with having to travel at least two time zones in the last 3 weeks. 😒 Welcome to the B1G! For those of us who played the game, we know how hard it is to win a football game. How hard it is to amp up for every opponent, especially a rested opponent you are favored to destroy. Especially, and I have no 1st hand knowledge of this, when you are the only team in your Top Drawer Division asked to play 8 straight games without a break. This was a very, very good win. Next week against a Badger backed into a B1G corner in home territory coming off a nap? JUST WIN BABY! GO DUCKS! Brutilize Bucky!
  17. Thans for the Post, DM. Foster with the help of Eric Bieniemy is steadily improving his team that has played hard in every game and he will focus on recruiting far more than Chip, which is not all that difficult. Recruiting to UCLA with sterling academis and a beautiful campus loctaed in recruiting happy hunting ground should be a no brainer. And the new UCLA president cares about athletics. Now, move to SoFi, a stadium closer to campus with modern seating and amenities. It will be interesting to see, if you can get Peacock, how UW does at Penn State tonight in a White Out. All games, including those broadcast on Peacock are available in a 60 minute version no lated than Monday on the Big Ten Network. Lincoln Riley cannot lose today.😁 MASH MARYLAND!

  20. The Committee with 12 teams is under more pressure than with 4 teams. Why a weekly College Football Playoff rankings show is dumb SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Ranking teams before the season ends just opens the committee up to more criticism. I agree that interim rankings are simply an ESPN money grab. I also believe that like the CBB Committee, the CFB Committee should publically disclose the metrics it uses to judge teams.
  21. Thanks for the post, 30. I think the two top SEC games this week have the more significant PO impact. Michigan is not in the running for the PO. If the Hoosiers lost to the Wolverines, after being Idle on 11/16, Indiana could recover with a win in Columbus on 11/16. With all of the 1-loss and 2-loss teams still in contention, a 3rd loss, whether or not Greg Sankey likes it, means Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU would be PO over and out and a 2-loss UGA would be on thin ice. In the 2024 Pac-12, I think the Ducks would be 9-0 but without a W versus Ohio State, meaning 3-0 OOC against 2 G5 teams and whatever Oregon State is., OBD would have one Top 25 win. OBD's strength of schedule would not be robust with Arizona, Utah, UW, and USC, having bad years and UCLA being UCLA, Cal being Cal and Furd being Furd. OBD's two top opponents could have been the not ranked ASU, No. 20 CU, and No. 21 Wazzu. Would these three teams have been on the schedule? Long way of saying, "Heck Yes!" Even though the ACC has five ranked teams in the top 25😒, one more than the B1G's four, it's huge to be B1G. 😍 Huge not to have every game streamed or shown on Larry's Loser Network. OBD would be playing games with far fewer folks tuning in to watch and OBD would be battling for the 4th or 5th seed in a field with six automatic bids. This just in, Penn State fans are not happy that The White Out Game versus UW is on The Bird. 😁
  22. Upcoming B1G Games That Could Impact the PO - Where Is Indy at tOSU? Big Ten football: 5 upsets (plus 1) that would impact the College Football Playoff rankings SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Starting this weekend, these are the conference matchups that could scramble the CFP order before the regular season ends.
  23. Week 11 It's the SEC Where Games Just Mean More This Weekend. College football games, Week 11: Two-loss SEC teams enter pivotal CFP stretch as potential bids become scarce - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The thought was 9-3 for SEC teams may be good enough for playoff inclusion, but parity may be proving that incorrect If our 'buddy' DeBoer 'leads' Bama to its 3rd loss vs 2 loss LSU the knives will be out in Tuscaloosa. And Kiffen taking a 3rd loss will be mega disappointing for The Portal King and Ole Miss fans. This Monday, the Paul Finebaum show should be rowdy.
  24. Why the Timing Is Right for Miller to Gather Moss on the Bench. USC football quarterback change needed to be now, not later TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM One reason for this USC quarterback switch from Miller Moss to Jayden Maiava really stands out. It reinforces why this was the right time to make the move. I cop to pulling for SC to take the Domers, 4 games vs G5 teams and a 'bye' on conference champ weekend, out of the playoff.
  25. Good thoughts. But 10-2 with a win over P4 B12 OK State in 2025 likely means OBD is back in the Playoff field. I think a Playoff bid would mean a successful season every year Oregon punched its ticket to The Delighted Dozen. I don't believe OBD is at Bama's championship or bust of a season level and I hope Oregon fans will never be that jaded. Winning football games is hard. Oregon will play five conference road games in 2025. However, the three OOC games are at home and Montana State replaces Boise State, so, like in 2024, OBD will have seven home games. It will be tough at Penn State, especially if it is a White Out game. The Games in Iowa City and Seattle could be a test but other than at Penn State, I think that in the 2025 preseason, Oregon will be favored in every game. The toughest home game looks to be against the Hoosiers. Hoo Knew! But 24-year-old Kurtis Rourke will not be back at QB. Oregon's Blue Chip Roster will be a darker blue. There is no Michigan and no Ohio State on the regular season schedule. Oregon will have a roster advantage in all of its games including the game in Happy Valley. The professionally managed and well-funded Division Street gives OBD a B1G advantage. The only NIL collective in the conference that can match Division Street is the Ohio State collective. Oregon could lose Will Stein and other top assistant coaches to better opportunities but to date, like one of his mentors Saint Nick, Dan Laning has successfully replaced the departing coaches. We are blessed. We are watching a program with the best marketing in CFB become more than its great mascot and showy uniforms, we are watching Oregon on the verge of obtaining Blue Blood status. For a program in the Northwestern part of the USA, this is remarkable. 😍
