  1. And why OREGON wants UW to win out and for the Ducks to defeat UW in LV, decisively at that? Quinn Ewers will be back for the B12 champ game, probably versus a ranked OK State team. And Bama runs the table and defeats a 12-0 UGA in the SEC champ game? FSU is getting a lot of love for a win over 3-loss LSU and on the road against 5-4 Clemson. Louisville is not the same team on the road as it is at home. With this coaching staff, I am not concerned about the trip South.
  2. Bama does go on a trip to Wisconsin next year for the 1st of an H+H series. Michigan coming off of the 2 year back-to-back playing no one OOC, plays Texas in the first of a back-to-back. WHY? Michigan playing no one OOC in 2023 is ranked #3. And playing no one OOC last season made the Final 4. But at least these are quality P4 opponents and not B12 opponents. Why do the Ducks have to trip to OK St in 2026 and to Baylor down the road? These are not impactful Playoff opponents. Everything to lose for Puddles and very little, if anything, to gain. GET SMART! And Beat USC!
  3. Doctor, more importantly, IMO, we need UW to win out. And the Ducks to win out and take down UW in LV. What's Left for Teams with a Final 4 Chance - 1. Ohio State - MI St, Minnesota, at 3. Michigan 2. UGA - 9. Ole Miss, at 13. Tennessee, at Georgia Tech 3. Michigan - at 10. Penn State, at Maryland, 1. Ohio State 4. FSU - Miami, NO. Alabama, at Florida 5. UW - 18. Utah. at 12. Oregon State, WSU 6. OREGON - USC, at ASU, 12. Oregon State 7. Texas - at TCU, at Iowa State, Texas Tech 8. Alabama - at Kentucky, Chattanooga, at Auburn 9. Ole Miss - at 2. UGA, LA- Monroe, at MS St. 10. Penn State - 3. Michigan, Rutgers, at Michigan State 11. Louisville - UVA, at Miami, Kentucky It was so great to see Bo on the Playoff ranking show. But what is McElroy's damage? Fine with FSU at 4, but OREGON should be behind Bama and Texas? Oregon does not have North Alabama, Chattanooga, or LA - Monroe left on its schedule.
  4. I love Oregon moving to the B1G where SOS is ipso facto fine. I do not like adding P4 teams to the schedule or going on the road to Boise and Logan, Utah.
  5. And why with all of the upcoming travel, trip to Stillwater, OK, and Waco, TX?
  6. Why not Fresno State? Michigan is #3 and has the 111 SOS.
  7. However, in 2024 Michigan plays Texas and Bama plays at Wisconsin. I think the ACC will continue, with its enabling of ND to stay independent, at 8. I think that the SEC will move to 9 conference games.
  8. The Grapevine Gurus are close to bumping ESPN's ratings and coming with its 2nd of 5 rankings. What will prevail? Strength of Record (SOR,) Strength of Schedule (SOS), or, the Eye of the Beholder Test? Also shown below is a team's remaining SOS (RSOS.) Before the rankings are released and through the Week 10 games, here are the ESPN SOR, SOS, and remaining to-be-played games SOS. OREGON is in the top 10 SOR. SOR Top 10 Rankings. 1. Ohio State - SOS - 20 - RSOS - 7 2. Washington - SOS - 41 - RSOS - 10 3. FSU - SOS - 58 - RSOS - 44 4. Alabama - SOS - 8 - RSOS - 15 5. Texas - SOS - 10 - RSOS - 34 6. Ole Miss - SOS -13 - RSOS - 24 7. Georgia - SOS - 90 - RSOS - 3 8. Michigan - SOS - 111 - RSOS - 1 9. Penn State - SOS - 37 - RSOS - 20 10. OREGON - SOS - 63 - RSOS - 32. The above ROS rankings do not take into consideration conference championship games. It likely will not happen but if stats matter, UW should jump FSU tonight. OREGON needs to win out and for UW to finish undefeated. A 1-loss conference champion Bama, Texas, and UGA, if it finishes 12-1, and a 13-0 B1G champion, along with an IMO over ranked FSU, could give the 12-1 Pac-12 champ Ducks a playoff weenie. Beat SC!
  9. There is no way Oregon should stiff Texas Tech in 2024 and not give the Red Raiders a return game. And 8 home games in 2024 is fantastic. I am only going to look at the 2024/25 schedules when asking Rob what he is doing now that OREGON is B1G time come 2024. A member of The Power 2 and a member that plays nine conference games. 2025 - Away - Boise State, Iowa, Northwestern, Penn State, Rutgers, Washington. NW and Rutgers are not top-drawer B1G programs but these games require a trip to Chicago and a trip to New Jersey. Home - Indiana, Minnesota, Montana State, USC, Wisconsin, and P5 Oklahoma State. Playing at Boise State? Does Ohio State play at Toledo, Akron, or Miami of Ohio? Does Michigan play at Eastern, Central, or Western Michigan? Of Course Not! Tripping to Boise, Idaho to play in a Bandbox stadium makes no sense for a B1G league team. And with this schedule, does Oregon, even though it is a home game, need a game vs. B12 Oklahoma State that is now odds on to play in the 2023 B12 Championship game? In the 12-team playoff era, finishing in the top 4 of the B1G means punching a playoff ticket. IMO, there is no reason to add a P5 opponent to an already strong strength of schedule. 2026 - Away - Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, USC, and Oklahoma State. Playing Ohio State and USC on the road is not enough. Why a trip to Stillwater, Oklahoma? Is there a single player from Oklahoma on Oregon's roster or an Oklahoma high school player targeted as a recruit? Home - Boise State, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Portland State, UCLA, and Washington. If the road schedule is not tough enough, add on playing Michigan, Nebraska (Nebraska will improve under Coach Ruhle,) UCLA, and Washington at home. Another consideration when it comes to scheduling. Even games against lesser opponents, both in and out of conference, will be given complete pre and post-game coverage on the Big 10 Network (BTN.) A network with close to 70M subscribers. Should a lesser game be shown on BTN, it will not go under the radar like games covered by and shown on Larry's Lost Network. IMO, drop the game at Boise (and a future scheduled game at Utah State!) and the home-and-home series scheduled against Oklahoma State and Baylor. Oregon does not need another Power 4 game on its slate. Why put money in the pockets of the B12? If you want to replace Oklahoma State and Baylor with P4 opponents, then play Stanford and/or Cal. I'd rather buy home games versus San Diego State, Fresno State, and San Jose State than play a P4 opponent on top of nine conference games. These games at Autzen will draw as many or close to as many viewers as games versus the B12. And home games at Autzen not only benefit the Ducks but the entire Eugene/Springfield community. If Rob has to open the wallet to cancel road games against G5 opponents and P4 Oklahoma State and Baylor, please do so. BEAT SC!
  10. What UW did. But UW scored too fast on the ground.🤣
  11. Thank you, David. Although it has not always resulted in fast starts, I think the pre-game lifting idea is a good one. Gets the players better ready to play ball and in the copycat world of CFB I expect many more teams will adopt this strategy. USC's new co-DCs will not fix the SC D in one week. SC has one chance, to win in a shootout. But unlike last week vs. UW in LA, SC will be playing a far better defense as well as playing at Autzen. I think the game plan at UW was the worst of the season. I was particularly miffed to see Ferguson wide open down the middle for a reception to set up the tying FG try. Far too many runs against 8 in the box and far too many short side-of-the-field rollouts. It will be fascinating to watch the Utah at UW game on Saturday. Will UW struggle in this game? Here is what I found to be an interesting tidbit from Saturday. With its 3rd win in a row as a not-ranked team vs. ranked opponents Arizona joined 2006 Georgia as the only two teams to accomplish this feat. Thanks again, David for another great take. GO DUCKS! BEAT SC!
  12. Dillion Johnson on Saturday past put up 256 rush yards of the Trojans D. Before Saturday, in his playing time at Mississippi State and UW, Johnson had 1 100-yard-plus game. How could Riley, after watching the 2022 Pac-12 champ game loss to Utah and the Cotton Bowl loss to Tulane not have pulled the trigger earlier on Grinch? 1 week under new co-DCs will not fix this defense.
  13. On BTN today, Nicole confirmed that Oregon is playing better than UW and is a playoff-worthy team.
  14. The smartest people in the room are the folks who set the lines.
  15. Wounded, I have DISH. I get Fox, FS1, and FS2. Is this an issue with your provider?
  16. Like Grinch, the AD is history.
  17. The line today is OREGON -14.5. Over/Under 74.5. Saturday's weather report is for Overcast conditions with a high of 55 degrees and a low of 37 degrees. ATS in 2023 - OREGON 8-1 - USC 2-8 ATS in the last 5 games vs USC - OREGON is 4-1 and has won 4 of the last 5 games. These 2 teams have not met since the conference champ game in 2020 when OREGON replaced UW because of COVID on the UW team. Under Mari(o), the woefully prepared Ducks went on to get blown out by Iowa State in the Fiesta Bowl 17 - 34. In fairness, Iowa State was 8-3 and the Ducks were 4-2. The game was played in front of family members only. OREGON won the 2020 conference champ game 31 - 24. It's hard to believe that these two have not played since 2020. This is due to Divisions and the California Scheduling Agreement that USC pushed through. Fortunately, the days of Traveler being the lead horse in the conference are coming to a close. GO DUCKS! BEAT SC! I loved this take from Jon Wilner regarding Dillion Johnson rushing for 256 yards in LA on Saturday. "USC's defense is like a clump of interstellar dust and gas: It gives birth to stars." Missississippi State transfer Johnson had never rushed for 150 yards let alone 256 yards. And 199 yards before first contact? I probably could have rushed for 50 yards. Upon further review, probably not. No wonder that The Grinch Who Stole Defense is gone.
  18. Thanks, Fox. Sandwiched in between the UW/Utah game and the OR/SC game is the Fox broadcast of the Oklahoma/W VA game. This makes zero sense to me. Oklahoma is out of the playoff hunt and W VA was never in the hunt. Bump the Heisman Trophy 2022 winner QB, Williams, and Heisman Trophy 2023 contender Bo Nix to a 10:30 Eastern kickoff. More folks are going to watch a B12 game than SC at OREGON, right?
  19. I do not see UT losing to TCU, Iowa State, or Texas Tech. And a 12-1 UT has after Saturday last with Bama defeating LSU, an impactful win against Bama in Tuscaloosa.
  20. And Smitty in 2022 eschewed 2 easy FGs at UW last season and lost by 3. Ooops! But last night vs. Deion? Why didn't Deion try the onside kick? Neon Deion is showing big-time ball warts. I do not want JS and his Beavers to rise up and beat UW. I want UW to take down Utah this Saturday, win at OR ST, and win the Apple Cup. Then, an 11-1 OREGON will not only have a chance at redemption in LV but a chance to defeat what then could be after the Michigan/Ohio State game, a top 4 team. The more I watch UW play the more ticked off I am that Puddles lost in Seattle. OSU and WSU's fate is up to Fox and ESPN, unfortunately, and not the B12. But there is still a lot of football to be played before the champ game weekend.
  21. Hubris: excessive pride or self-confidence. Riley, Caleb, et al, come into Autzen without anything to lose. Caleb will not play in SC's lesser bowl game. So, other than the game versus UCLA, Saturday is Caleb's Super Bowl and Riley's last hope for 2023 redemption. Oregon is in the playoff mix and USC is not. This is still a Blue Chip roster coming into Eugene. Badly coached on D? You know it. But lots of weapons on O and at this point in the season why not let it all hang out? I'll Shout at the game's end. I still recall Justin Herbert at ASU. No Easy Day.
  22. And here I thought the new DC would have come out of the same arena that taught Grinch the OLE' D?
  23. "All is well! Nothing to see here, move right along." Kevin Bacon - Animal House. Hard to fix stupid in one week. But, beware of Hubris. SC can score points in bunches. Cam Ward put up a lot of points against Oregon and put up 7 versus Stanford. And Caleb Williams is far, far better than Cam Ward. And ditto for the guys catching his passes. I hope Oregon will not come into this game thinking that it will be a layup. This is now more of a trap game than versus Cal. Riley, SC, and Caleb have nothing to lose. It's the Holiday Bowl or LV Bowl for SC so Troy will be going a
  24. Good call. But the contacts are made by 3rd parties, often agents these days which is OK and not by coaches. There is a big NIL grapevine out there.
