  1. Oregon is on the list of West Coast teams off to good starts with the 2026 recruiting class. But Lake Oswego's Ansu Sanoe off to UW? Say it ain't so! West Spotlight: Five programs off to fast start in 2026 recruiting class SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Colorado's Deion Sanders is beginning to change his recruiting philosophy a bit by recruiting more high school players.
  2. Thoughts from Dixie Land. It had to happen. Now, finally, John Calipari, Kentucky can move on … WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Who says all breakups are bad breakups? John Calipari and Kentucky each get a fresh start.
  3. I think Riley knows that the Beach Mansion is at risk. The USC collective finally has put a plan in place backed by B1G bucks. Traveler is not trotting to Autzen in 2024 but will be coming to town in 2025. Big Ten recruiting thoughts: USC getting defensive, Ohio State keeps rolling, Minnesota has its QB THEATHLETIC.COM Maryland bolsters class with second four-star prospect. Wisconsin loses two commits. UCLA is (finally) active on the trail.
  4. 9 Kentucky basketball coaching candidates, ranked by likelihood after John Calipari’s exit WWW.SBNATION.COM Ranking potential Kentucky head coach candidates by likelihood of actually ending up in Lexington after John Calipari’s shocking exit for Arkansas.
  5. What have YOU done for me lately? Reporter indicates what pushed John Calipari to leave Kentucky LARRYBROWNSPORTS.COM The John Calipari era is coming to an end in Kentucky. The veteran coach was far from oblivious about his waning support from Big Blue Nation. Reports
  6. It's not a very good team, the Cardinals, but when you are competing against an NFL team for entertainment dollars you need to be more than a CFB bottom feeder. I hope Dilly will turn things around. The Herm Experience was a disaster. And at the top? ASU backed out of a bowl game last season without letting Dilly know before the announcement. I wouldn't want to share a nest with Crow.
  7. John Calipari leaving Kentucky for another SEC school LARRYBROWNSPORTS.COM Longtime Kentucky head coach John Calipari is switching schools within the SEC. Calipari is expected to sign a five-year contract to become the coach at
  8. He certainly doesn't leave Lexington for Fayetteville with the same glow he had a few years back. Teams playing for CBB titles this season had experienced players whether from recruiting HS or recruiting the Portal and most often a bit of both. Cal for the most part stayed with one and done frosh wonders. Kentucky has not gotten past the 2nd round of the tournament since 2019. Calipari has a $33M buyout. I wonder how this is being finessed. A huge hire for Arkansas but is Cal past his prime. Who's next for Big Blue? Pitino to Kentucky after once doing great things at Louisville or a younger up-and-coming coach like Bama's Nate Oates? Bruce Pearl at Auburn might also be a candidate. And would Danny Hurley consider leaving UConn?
  9. Spot on take on how the women's CBB tourney, hats off to the "good" USC, lifted all women's sports. Winners, losers from women's tournament: Dawn Staley, South Carolina achieve perfection WWW.YARDBARKER.COM With South Carolina's 87-75 win over Iowa on Sunday afternoon, the Gamecocks won their third national championship under head coach Dawn Staley and completed a perfect 38-0 season.
  10. Ganja is legal in Ohio? The UCLA Bruin looks like he wants everyone to drop in for a spot of tea. When Maryland visits Autzen on 11/9, there should be a halftime uni showdown. Thanks, NJ. It's a looooong off season.
  11. Mike, I resemble your remark. At least I think I do. What was the second thing?
  12. Or friend Annie will give us the answer. 😍👍
  13. Make sure the guys run downhill. Kidding! Heck of a question? An OBD kinesiologist will perhaps give us an answer.
  14. Who knew that Sun Devils could be more reasonable and respectful than Beavers? As reported by Ducks Wire and elsewhere, Coach Samples's Dad is the coach at Texas powerhouse HS Duncanville. He is wired into Texas. Which is nice.

  16. Caitlin Clark’s magical Iowa career ends in title game loss to South Carolina SATURDAYTRADITION.COM Caitlin Clark and Iowa gave their best punch to South Carolina, but the undefeated Gamecocks were too much for the Hawkeyes.
  17. Caitlyn Clark gave a good effort, Clark scored 20 points but (the good) women's USC team won the 3rd title in program history, 87 - 75. This game will likely set the record for the most-watched Women's CBB Championship game. Iowa's win over LSU drew more than 12 million viewers. Can Purdue end the B1G's 24-year streak without a men's or women's basketball title? UConn is -6.5.
  18. The 13th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America prohibits Indentured Servitude unless a person has committed a crime. Unless you are a duly convicted or confessed criminal and in prison, you cannot be forced to work where you do not want to. This is true of coaches and players. A player may not be able to force a trade, but the player cannot be forced to play. Of course, if the coach or player simply quits they will not be paid. As you so note, coaching contracts provide generally for liquidated damages. Damages are paid instead of breach of contract suits. Contracts may include non-compete clauses but said clauses have to be limited in scope and duration. Prohibiting a coach from coaching elsewhere during the term of the contract is unenforceable.
  19. Spot ON! Please tell Rob Mullens to back away from scheduling more games vs. these unctuous thieves or to move out of Eugene and allow someone with a clue to take over his job.
  20. Restraint on coaches' salaries would be price fixing and unenforceable. Restrictions on transfers in CFB will not happen until there is a players' union management can bargain with. 'Someone' has to figure out how to form and define an inclusive players' union; the easy solution would be for CFB players to join the NFL union if the NFL players are willing to accept college athletes. 'Someone' also has to figure out who makes up 'management.' When players become 'employees' relief may come from Congress; not before.
  21. 68 P4 teams are ranked. The Pac-2 did not make the list. Yuck, Yuck. College football teams with most returning starters in 2024, ranked 247SPORTS.COM Which college football rosters are stacked with the highest number of returning starters from last season? If your team was putrid in 2023 does it mean all that much to have a bunch of underperformers returning? But for the Power 2 Playoff Contenders with the best odds of making the 12-team field, having experienced players on the roster does matter. B1G - Tied (T) 3. - Iowa - 19 - 9 O/ 9 D/ PK I do not see the Hawkeyes as contenders for the B1G title in 2024 or a true contender for a Playoff spot but Iowa did win the now-defunct B1G West last season and returns many quality starters on D. T - No. 12 - Penn State - 16 - 8 O/ 7D/ Punter On paper, Penn State should go 10-2 in 2024 with the losses coming at home to Ohio State and on the road at USC. T - No. 21 - Ohio State - 15 - 6 O/ 8 D/ PK Plus, tOSU brought in likely starters at QB, RB, CB, and OL from the Portal. T - No. 53 - OREGON - 11 - 6 O/ 4 D/ Punter Plus Oregon brought in likely starters at QB, DB, WR, OL, and DL from the Portal. T - No. 62 - USC - 9 - 3 O/ 4 D/ Punter USC brought in 5 players likely to start on D from the Portal and a QB who will challenge for the starting job. Losing players off of last season's OL and D is not a great loss. 66. Michigan - 6 - 1 O/ 3 D/ PK/ Punter Plus goodbye to HC, DC, and all of the other coaches on D. Moore is going to have to do more with less. 67. Washington - 5 - Zero O/ D 3/ PK/ Punter It's a good thing the punter is back. UW brought in its 2024 starting QB from the Portal and ... UW almost made the anchor position. Good luck Fisching on Montlake. SEC - T - 12 - Georgia - 16 - 8 O/ 6 D/ PK/ Punter And the backups 'aren't bad.' T - 21 - Ole Miss - 15 - 8 O/ 6 D/ PK Plus 4 likely starters on D. 2 on OL both from UW. Kiffin to date, is CFB's No. 1 Portal Picker. Texas - 15 - 6 O/ 8 D/ PK 3 likely starters at WR from the Portal. T - 29 - Missouri - 14 - 9 O/ 5 D Easiest schedule in the SEC but the DC is now the DC at LSU. T. 32 - LSU - 13 - 6 O/ 6 D/ PK Nussmeir at QB is a good 'pinch hitter' for the Heiman winner. Bama and Ole Miss trip to Baton Rouge. T - 57 - Alabama - 10 - 4 O/ 5 D/ Punter Starting center from UW via the Portal. Bama's recruiting prowess will be tested; especially, under a new HC. Let's Play Ball!
  22. The tallest title bout ever: We find out Monday who's better between Donovan Clingan, Zach Edey 247SPORTS.COM Should Zach Edey be considered a better NBA prospect than he is? Maybe we'll find out Monday.
  23. Caitlin Clark offers final words on Iowa vs. South Carolina national championship game 247SPORTS.COM Iowa's superstar knows her team needs its best performance to beat the unblemished Gamecocks. You Go Gals! No title for the B1G in Men's and Women's CBB in 24 years!
  24. A Battle of Big Men - Hopefully, the B1G Man Wins. O’Gara: Why there’s great irony in Purdue preparing for Donovan Clingan, UConn SATURDAYTRADITION.COM The battle of 7-footers will have no shortage of eyeballs on it ... from the officials.
