Colorado is Going to Win the Big 12
Doctor, Yardbarker is in agreement. Colorado looks like legitimate contender for College Football Playoff berth WWW.YARDBARKER.COM No. 17 Colorado (8-2, 6-1 in Big 12) drilled Utah (4-6, 1-6 in Big 12) in an emphatic 49-24 Week 12 win to keep its hope of earning an automatic CFP bid alive.

So...Lanning's Wins Officially Passed Chip as HC at Oregon?
'ATTICUS.' Latin for 'Man from Athens.' Last night he was a kicking Man of Steel. The departure of Camden Lewis ( 😍) and here's thanking him for his contributions to OBD (OK, not in Seattle), has significantly lowered my Field Goal Pucker Factor.

Colorado is Going to Win the Big 12
Setting up a PO using the top 16 in today's AP Poll would have No. 16 CU playing at No.1 OREGON in the 1st round (no byes.) 11 SEC teams, 4 B1G teams, 2 Big 12 teams, and 1 ACC, Independent, and G5 team would be in the field.

Kansas was very good under Mark Mangino who was fired because he was a MEANIE 😒and the players could not find a Safe Space. Every football player needs a safe space, right? 😁

Coaches Poll 11/17/24
This year CFB has a 14-week season and two 'byes' for every team. The reason why many teams still have two games remaining. Some teams had their byes spaced perfectly, others? The last two games for the Ducks saw both Maryland and Wisconsin coming off of their second bye week. This 8-games straight stuff happens again and I hope Mullens makes some noise. It was only to Corvallis but this was not the season to drop a home game, a season in which both Michigan and Ohio State play 8 home games.

Colorado is Going to Win the Big 12
Thank you, Doctor J. As you so noted, CU has to win at Kansas on Saturday and the Jayhawks are playing like everyone thought Kansas would in the preseason. BYU plays at friend Dilly's 8-2 ASU team. Cignetti is getting all the pub but what Dilly has done in his second season is remarkable. He has brought a Michigan State reject QB back to life. BYU, CU, ASU, and Iowa State are still in the B12 mix. I'll be very surprised if the B12 places more than its champ in the PO. Zero Blue Chip roster teams and it shows.

Kirby is Smart and He Has a Point
Have to disagree here, my friend. The Dawgs were 12-1 last season, not in the 4-team PO and I never heard Kirby beef.
-
Kirby is Smart and He Has a Point
Thanks, 30. Spot on Coach Kirby. But you do not have to be in the environment if you rely on meaningful statistics and not simply count the number of losses a team has. 13 Eye-Testers need new and not B(C)S eyeglasses. Where would Texas be today if it played Georgia's schedule? Indiana?

Kirby Smart's Dawgs rise again: Georgia's statement win over Vols deserves CFP Committee's reconsideration - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM We know this win meant a lot to Kirby Smart, because we were there the last time he was left out of the playoff Why does the PO need a Committee when the Committee only counts losses and discounts head-to-head results and strength of schedule?

Tennessee QB "Questionable" for Pivotal Game with Georgia
SoGa and Nevada Dawgs. Play 9 or 'this' with 8? "UGA, TN, Bama, and Ole Miss, all have two losses, but a win versus at least one of the other tied teams leaving their fate to the SEC's arcane tie-breaking policies which involve scoring differentials and a pie-eating contest between Lane Kiffin, in the daytime and not at night, and Josh Heupel. I like Tennessee." David Hale - ESPN.😁 The 1st tie-breaker is the opponents' cumulative records and to date, Alabama leads in this metric. I get and respect your argument regarding 8 and not 9 but why not play 6 and a bunch of FCS opponents at home? One reason why? The networks are not going to pony up for a bunch of Bama vs. Mercer games. The issue you raise is a good one. Why is Texas opening at Ohio State next season and Michigan at Oklahoma. Are these 'huge' OOC games worth the playoff candle?

Not Pretty but Still Perfect: No. 1 Ducks Rally Late
From The Athletic's ($ wall) Stewart Mandel - "But the Ducks did what great teams do, driving 81 yards for the tying score and holding Wisconsin without a 1st down for the entire 4th quarter to win 16-13." "Running back Jordan James (25 carries,121 yards, one TD) wore down the Badgers, and defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei was everywhere, pulling down a game-sealing interception off a deflection." 😍 ( Note to FSU fans: It is possible for the words 'Uiagalelei' and 'interception' to appear in the same sentence not involving a brutal loss. - David Hale - ESPN) Thank you, Jordan. Thank you, Stewart. Puddles, take a WELL-DESERVED NAP before beating UW back-to-back. 👍👌❤️😁

Oregon vs Wisconsin Post Game Discussion Thread
Never A Doubt! 😍 8 for 8 and finally, a nap. No team in B1G time CFB this season was asked to do This. Plus add on Maryland off a bye and Wisconsin off a bye. And two trips East in the last three weeks. This is great coaching. In its last dozen Prime Time games in Camp Randall vs. ranked opponents, Wisconsin was 10-2. Now, 10-3. Puddles have a nice nap, and then Hose the Huskies! It's too bad that OBD can't micturate in UWho's Sun Bowl. 😁

Finebaum Goes After CFP Committee and B1G Teams
I'm Shocked! 😁

Finebaum: It's Over for Riley at USC
Is the article by Matt or Purple Hayes? SC got a slap on the wrist for not being able to count once the number exceeded double figures. Hell of an academic institution, right? 😁 Firing him for a few extra coaches hanging around would be laughed out of Judge Judy's court. I don't blame the Extras. Why would anyone who isn't being paid hang around a set featuring a has been leading man?

Finebaum: It's Over for Riley at USC
Wasn't it Finebaum who told everyone else to Stay In Your Own Lane? 😁 And he wasn't referring to Kiffin.

2024 Ducks - Badgers Pre-Game Reports, Analysis, Etc.
CBS Sports Week 12 B1G Picks. Ducks Cover. QUACK! B1G Time: How Penn State, Indiana could face disappointment in College Football Playoff doomsday scenario - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The Nittany Lions and Hoosiers are having stellar seasons, but a spot in the CFP down the road is not guaranteed The B1G has for the most part been a top-heavy football conference and 2024 is no exception. OREGON, Ohio State, Indiana, and Penn State are a collective 36-2; 2-2 versus one another. Thirteen (😒) B1G teams have 4-6 wins. And then there is Purdon't with ONE win. Re-Ranking the Committee's Week 11 Poll Using Strength of Record.
Excellent question. One I will answer even if the Committee refuses to do so. Both SOR and SOS come from ESPN. Frankly, I don't care what algorithms the Committee uses, I just want to know that metrics trump the Eye Test and what those metrics are. This is not a groundbreaking request. The CBB Committee discloses all of the metrics used in evaluation and seeding. Georgia dropping from No. 3 to No. 12 is a case of recency bias. Georgia looked awful versus Ole Miss but Georgia looked invincible when it defeated current No. 3 Texas in Austin. UGA defeats No. 7 Tennessee in Athens Saturday to score 29 home wins in a row, and how high will the Vols fall and Georgia climb? If the Committee is going to use final champ game results, Notre Dame is bulletproof and the losers of these games could be screwed. And if the losers are screwed the reasoning being the hosing will be, 'Trust Us.' In fairness, the Rankings weekly reality show only needs to happen because ESPN needs the dues. Like the CBB Committee releases its current top 16 shortly before the final ranking, the CFB Committee should do the same and not be asked to do more. Also, 2024 and 2025's jury-rigged format does not help the Committee's cause. Let the sunshine in and Destroy Wisconsin at Night! 😍

Dan Lanning is Playing the Long Game
DM, thanks again for the terrific article. I agree, there is no excuse for a good FCS Idaho team that Oregon at this point in the season would blow out. Perhaps this is why Bama is playing (Have) Mercer on Saturday? Also. This is why I advocate opening against Portland State every season. But Boise? No. 13 Boise would defeat many P4 opponents. Boise is having some late-season doldrums but is still odds on, especially after the Domers easily beat Army next Saturday to go 3-1 vs the G5, to be the PO's G5 representative. I do not want a rematch with a Boise team that has already experienced Autzen and would come in with positive vibes. I love my friend Mike West's comments but I disagree a loss to an inferior opponent would be beneficial this late in the season. More than anything, Puddles needs a well-deserved nap. Lack of focus is understandable late in the season in the 7th game in a row vs P4 opponents against an opponent Idle the week before as will be the case when Oregon plays Wisconsin at night on the road. The circumstances on Saturday will test all of Danno's motivational skills. Future odds have tOSU -3 in a conference champ game in Indianapolis. I get it but I do not want a loss and 17 games when a conference championship equals 16 games max, a chance to rest and heal up, and a 2nd-round game close to home in the Rose Bowl. We are in unchartered territory here and there will be playoff monsters. The fewer the monsters faced the better. WAX WISCONSIN!

Dan Lanning is Playing the Long Game
Thanks, DM, great take. It's a long way to Tipperary and a long way to Atlanta. Clock rules = fewer possessions. Playing in a ball-control conference = fewer possessions. We have not seen many 40+ but we have seen OBD cover some B1G spreads. In a ball-control conference time of possession matters more than it did it in the Pac-12. There are not as many opponents that can overcome a 2-score lead including a throw-first team like Maryland. Dan's two main mentors, Nick and Kirby, taught him well. BLOW OUT THE BADGERS! And tie a record as a Newby B1G member, and Power conference member with 11 wins in season one in a new Power conference. 11 wins will tie Penn State which accomplished this feat in 1993. 😍
