  1. In my mind, Penix won the Heisman yesterday. Dudes a warrior. Hats off to such a gritty performance
  2. This season isn't over. Lanning has this team poised to be conference champs and a shot at the cfp. Though I think Oregon is the one team in the Pac that gets left out CFP with 1 loss. I have reasons I will keep to myself. Coming into the season I had Ducks 11-1, conference champs and a cfp appearance. That is still well within grasp. This game in no way showed anyone who is the better team. Coming in it was a coin flip. And in my mind, it still isn't settled.
  3. College Football Rankings: Predicting the AP Poll Top 25 after Washington outlasts Oregon in a Top 10 showdown WWW.ON3.COM .
  4. This is a great point. I think both Stein and Lanning will have some conversation about this. 1%. I think this loss could be a great win. I don't know what would be harder if these two teams meet in the conf title game, beating Wash twice or beating Oregon twice.
  5. Coaching is a huge part of college football. Put it under a microscope and it's amazing what one will find. But you do that and you lose focus of the entirety of what you are looking at imo. Lets look at the firat example. "Oregons coaching got them a spot in the BCS National Championship". On the surface this looks like a great season. Super successful and the coach is the greatest. What isn't mentioned is what happened in that game. Under a microscope you find Oregon unsuccessfully running between tackles over and over (coaching). You will also see Oregon not playing to the whistle with Dryer play (execution). You also find poor calls on the field. Oregon also lost that game on a field goal. This is a rough loss. Fans look for ways to pacify themselves in different ways, me included. Expected and understandable. Lanning provided low hanging fruit fans can use to process and heal from a gut wrenching, disappointing loss. I have even heard him likened to Mariø. I disagree, but ok. What we also had here was a young second year head coach that got his team to play at an elite championship level. On the road in an extreamly hostile stadium, Against one of the best teams in the country that absolutely hates him and his team. Should Oregon have won, I think so. But what I saw was a gritty top level performance that Oregon and it's fans should be extremely proud of. And that leaves me not looking for blame to roast the coach or a player. It leaves me in a state of "WOW, that was amazing." So how can Oregon get better across the board. There were some coaching mistakes for sure. Would those mistakes have changed the outcome...maybe. but that discounts Huskies roll they played in the outcome. Huskies are a damn good team. I hate the Huskies but have to respect them from a talent level. I find it curious how so many praise Lanning and Oregon as a whole for being innovative and forward thinking. But when there are bumps in the road they revert right back to "this is how it's done, this has always been how it's done". I hope Lanning ignores those folks. One day again, Lanning will step outside the box and find success that will be praised and bring glory to Oregon Football. There will be no "I told you so", there will just be celebration with my fellow Duck brothers. So as I said, fans will pacify in different ways. This is my way. Others have theirs. When I disagree I will state as much. Thats why this forum exists. Doesn't make any of us right or wrong. But it is a great platform to move forward. Go Ducks
  6. Maybe, maybe not. Ducks were converting at an 80 pecent clip coming into the game. Those percentages are pretty high. Cam was 6 of 7 coming in, thats an 85.7% clip. Almost a wash. What we dont know is how Cam looked in practice the last couple weeks. We do know is he showed signs of struggle starting in the Stanford game. Lanning showed support for Cam in his post game. Thats what coaches do. They don't sit up there and toss their players under the bus.
  7. Looks like I am going to disagree with most of the duck fans here. I am ok with that. I could also be wrong, I am ok with that too. IMO the Ducks played a great game. Went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the country, with arguably the best offense in the country. In a very hostile environment and gave themselves a chance to win till the end. Lanning coached his a** off. Great job coach. Keep fighting for that one percent and Duck will play for a title. What I know for sure is that was an amazing game and Ducks should be proud of how they represented to the country.
  8. I remember going into this game that Ducks were like 8-10 on 4th down. Thats an 80% conversion rate. Pretty sure Dan had that information.
  9. I disagree, Oregon was imposing its will on Washington offensively. Washington stepped up on those plays and executed. Same as Oregon stopping them at the one. Lanning was looking to win the game right then and there at the end. I have absolutely no problem with that. Who on this forum thinks those 4th downs aren't high percentage situations? Most of us going in make the same call. Easy to question it on the back side. I want Ducks to make the same call on 4th and goal at the 3 every time. Especially in a game like that. What I didn't like was the poor execution. 3 pass plays, really. Oregons OC is super young. Add Bo's mind into the mix. I trust that combined football IQ in their decisions. Stien Dominated the fusky defense. Thats a good D, they made plays. But Oregon beat them up and down the field. Ducks proved to be elite tonight. Got unlucky. Got some bad calls. Got beat in some key situations on both sides of the ball. And lost on the scoreboard. Plain and simple. Keep doing what you are doing coach. It's working, even when it doesn't look like it. Go Ducks!
  10. There is a big difference in losses. Some are good loses. This was one of them. Get fusky in the title game and win... this lose means nothing. Bo said as much in his post game.
  11. This Fusky got lucky. It happens. Ducks beat the cr** out of Penix. Only place Ducks lost was the only place it matters. Scoreboard. This state line says Fusky got lucky. I know some will call for Lannings head, fine. Armchair is a easy place to judge from. Just win, cuz lightning won't strike twice. Ducks are an elite football team.
  12. All this loss does is give Fusky the drivers seat. USC is down by 18 at half. Not looking good. Win out and Ducks get another crack at it. Pac 12 champ goes to playoff. Ain't over yet. Oregon is still in complete control of their season. One thing we learned, Ducks are a dam good team. This game proves nothing at this point
  13. Wow! So we are questioning Lannings mental healt. Fully agree with third word of your last sentence. C'mon man
  14. This game didn't tell us who the better team is. I am proud of the Ducks. Hate the outcome. See Fusky soon. Good luck beating the Ducks twice in one year.
  15. Huge!!! Lets go up by 11. Poetic justice. Use all the clock and Bo scorse on a run
  16. Just stay within striking distance. Get a score here and go up four instead of 3. Keep chugin Ducks
