  1. Being as the drinking will commence during the a.m. I'll be blending the best breakfast drink, the Ramos Fizz.
  2. Ok, I managed to wait until it became game week. And then I waited an extra day. But I can wait no longer to talk about how much I hate the Washington Dogs! That's the only sentence I'll ever write proclaiming ANY hate for ANY dogs. Well, only one sentence per year. But I do. I hate those dogs. Growing up I had only managed actual hatred for the Los Angeles Dodgers (but notice the dog in Dodgers). The reasons I won't explain here. Sure, I hated the Steelers for the Immaculate Reception, but my Raiders had plenty of glory since then (We won't talk about the last forty years). But then I met the Washington dogs. Seriously, I could drone on and on about the myriad of reasons the leg lifters up north have given me to loathe them with all my being for the last 30 years, but that's what I'm hoping you all will do. Provide me with new and even more interesting reasons to wish nothing but the most vile of outcomes for the future of fusky futbol....... P.S. The biggest reason I like our chances this weekend is that they can't (yet) ruin our season with a win. In fact, a close loss now and an avenging win in the Pac-? Championship makes for a really really juicy end to the season that would pretty much secure a spot in the CFP. P.P.S. TED BUNDY WAS A HUSKY
  3. Excellent article and analysis. I have yet to see ANY evidence that our DC knows how to call a defense. The ONLY reason I can come up with that Oregon hired Lupoi is so he wouldn't be recruiting against us as recruiting is his main prowess. Unfortunately, I believe that only losses will change our current equation.
  4. When I was a young boy yet to have a horse in the race, I think it was the mesozoic period, I was enthralled with this team on tv that came out every week. Plain white uniforms with nothing but a blue stripe and a number. I'm not even sure they had names sewn on them at this point. They seemingly kicked the crap out of everyone. My first favorite team.
  5. I came to post that I absolutely REFUSE to click on one more store on this subject. Not only stories posted here, but especially on the newsfeed on my computer. That's where the real click-bait is. And what do I do? I clicked on the story Jon Joseph posted above. From CBS Sports no less! Those bastards have been trying to kill us for a whole year. This is the train wreck that I cannot bring myself to look away from. Yet, I am beyond sick of it. I long for the day when "east coast bias" was our biggest conference gripe. I won't go through the litany of mistakes and ineptitude displayed by the conference powers that be. We've all seen that for ourselves for years. But for someone who loves college football because of the tradition to watch this endless circus? Just so maddening.
  6. There is this team in Palo Alto that has done more damage to Oregon's national championship hopes than any other. Especially in years that Oregon is supposed to beat them............
  7. I bet this makes Dana Altman feel better about crowd sizes.
  8. That's a positive take on the situation WW. I like it. When I saw the quote I was surprised that I had said that. But I'm sure it was in a moment of frustration while watching this team refuse to gel into a real team. Next season will be a very fresh start and I am excited.
  9. Frankly, this is the best news I've heard so far this week. Especially after his last public statements, it truly does feel as if Coach Altman is ready to move on from the John Calapari model of running a basketball program. He seems eager to go out and find some of his "dogs". This makes me hopeful. I did become a big N'faly Dante fan this season. He was the bright spot.
  10. I read as far as it let me. I'm not paying to read Canzano or anyone else. But now I most want to know why Karen Brodkin wasn't hired instead of GK. She seems to have far better qualifications.
  11. Thank you, Pennsylvania Duck for all your hard work to bring us a never ending supply of reading material regarding OBD. I'll always read Canzano as long as it doesn't cost me anything more than time. From his time at the Oregonian he is as connected to Oregon sports as any journalist. He's meticulous in fact-checking. He doesn't talk out his arse unless noting beforehand that he'll be talking out his arse. He is honest. But, he's almost always one of the characters as well as the narrator of his stories. He has to let you know that he's an insider in a way that Jon Wilner doesn't need to. That's why Wilner is the number one Pac-12 insider and journalist. A good article, though. And, as usual, true enough. Altman will roll some metaphorical dice tomorrow and see which team shows up. The one capable of beating UCLA and Arizona? Or the team that lost to Utah Valley Somebody or another....... If Richardson comes alive, Dante can go unencumbered and others can take good shots and hit them, the sky is the limit.
  12. I don't see how this season could possibly help in getting new recruits.
  13. Neither the Men's nor Women's team has a leader and it shows.
  14. This is the way I always felt about Arik Armstead. He played like he was just biding his time not to get hurt before he went pro.
  15. So now option #1 to make the Tournament is to win the Pac-12 tournament. Option #2? There is no option #2..............
  16. "There is a little known codicil in the Faber constitution............"
  17. I'll need to see the completion, or near completion of that feat before I'm able to jump BACK on the turnaround bus. I took it for a ride right before the Colorado game, only to see a total stinker laid in Boulder. Granted, Oregon has had trouble in Boulder just as Arizona has had trouble in Eugene. The team played GREAT against the Wildcats. Unquestionably the best game of the year. We got EXACTLY what we need from Richardson. 14 points, a few rebounds, an assist or four and relative anonymity. When we've had to rely on Richardson to be our super-star is when we've fallen the flattest. He's just not that guy-no disrespect to Will, he never wanted the job-and it finally appears that Dana will be able to play around that crutch. It's still a "one step at a time" situation. The first step will be to beat two teams they should beat in Cal and Stanford.
  18. Sounds like a job for the collective. Replace some scholarships with an equivalent of NIL money. Problem solved. And we keep everybody.
  19. I will say that they haven't quit. A minute left down two. This can't be a loss if the season is to go anywhere. Granted, the conference race will determine tournament options. But if you end up a bubble team you can't lose to Utah Valley. All game long I've tried to recognize the UV coach. Finally had to look at the website and see he's a former smirky Stanford player that I never liked. Please beat this guy!
  20. Apparently, we can write off this BB season. I just don't get it. I understand about the injuries and all. But this team has too much talent to lose to a team I didn't even know exitsted. The team seems listless and the five people in the crowd aren't helping to get them going. Sad state of affairs. Women look good though.
  21. Wow! I don't think even any of the Deltas were around that long. Blutarsky might have had about six years in, but...........
  22. Simply another story designed to get clicks. They probably knew it was incorrect, but a Bo Nix story to a hard-core War Dam Eagle person is clickbait candy. That being said: I think Mr. Nix is a winner, although somewhat of an enigma. Heck, if I'm an NFL GM and all you show me is Bo getting hurt against the dirty stinking Fuskies and then show me the following week against the Oots, I'm drafting him in the first round! I believe that the story of Bo Nix in the NFL will come down to the luck of the team that drafts him. I always get a kick out of someone saying so and so, or Joey Harrington was a washout as an NFL quarterback. My response is always, "Yeah? Well, let's put him behind Tom Brady's Patriots offensive line and see if he's any better." I'm sure there are many "washout" quarterbacks that could have had a perfectly fine, or even stellar career with a different team. But if you get drafted by the Browns, Lions or some team as historically bad, your career life expectancy is seriously jeopardized.
  23. Good article Joshua. The Holiday seems older than it's 1978 inception. Having always been billed as the number two west coast bowl after the Rose gives it credibility that belies it's youngish age. I got to attend the awesome win over Texas and the unfortunate defeat to an unranked Oklahoma team. I had to watch us beat the Okie State Cowboys at home, but did quite enjoy making up, "My billionaire can beat up your billionaire" jokes. I'm hoping that OBD consider this an important trajectory game and show up accordingly. If no one cares enough to win then the game shouldn't be played. I don't ever want to see an Alamo repeat again. I believe that if the defense can have a good game, it can be an Oregon stomp. Dish has been fighting with the local Fox company and that channel wasn't available last weekend, so I was forced to watch Clemson make North Carolina look pretty bad. And Clemson ain't THAT good. I wouldn't be afraid to play 'em. With any luck here comes your storm, Mr. Duck...........
  24. BREAKING NEWS: ODB Obtains Advance Copy of CFB Playoff Ranking WWW.MSN.COM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Headline: ODB Obtains Advance Copy of CFB Playoff Ranking WACO, Texas: Our Daily Bears has received an advance copy of the final CFB Playoff Rankings and the... After a relatively nasty disposition since the Fusky debacle that really took a nose dive after losing to the bark rats, it's nice to have a bit of comedic relief...........
