  1. It bothers me to, but look at LSU, they have 9 players this year from I believe the portal. At least they are new to the program! Angel Reese came after playing at a very good Maryland program. Listening to her in interviews, I can only imagine that Maryland is glad she left. I've looked at several rosters across the country and they are littered with players seeking out that greener grass! As for Coach Graves I think the players this year really like him and he and his staff are just like many programs trying to make the best of this current free for all in College Athletics! Honestly I wouldn't want to try and Coach in this new Era of the Wild, wild West!
  2. Te-Hina leaving after Endyia announced that she was going into the WNBA draft doesn't surprise me at all! Once upon a time Te-Hina seemed to want to be a point guard. Watching her this year, I thought she was very comfortable playing the 2 guard and leaving the point to Endyia and occasionally Chance. While I appreciate Te-Hina, I also believe that anyone who wants to be somewhere else for whatever reason needs to leave! Hope she gets what she is looking for. Next years team with who we have coming back and who we currently have coming in and who will still be recruited, makes me feel like we can be very competitive while still being very young. I honestly believe the secret sauce will end up being how well these Ladies want to be Coached and how much time they are willing to put into their game. I look no further than the inside players, the potential for those young Ladies is incredible! With that said, they need to be Coached to develop their talent. P.K. should dominate the paint, but she needs to get in shape and learn how to play big, strong and shoot with a purpose. Grace needs to get healthy and learn to harness her incredible work ethic into playing under control! She is a talent that needs to learn how to take what the defense gives her and also learn the old adage, go quick but don't hurry. Kennedy also needs to get healthy and then work with some good post Coaching! I believe Kennedy could be the best Center since Ruthy! She has a tremendous amount of talent and definitely can run the floor. Love to see her work with a Coach that teaches her that blocking every shot is not what is needed and have her learn that picking up 3 fouls to go with 3 blocks is not a good tradeoff. Just some lengthy thoughts, much more to say about our current and future guards, but I will say that Chance can end up being a great player. I truly believe in our players and our Coach!
  3. Really looking forward to seeing how our Lady Ducks continue to evolve tonight? My prediction for tonight hinges on how confident and aggressive Te-Hina is! When you're not around teams at practice, it is usually a hard thing to now where players minds are. Looking at Te-Hina she doesn't seem to be as quick or confident as she has been in the past? She seems to be bigger and stronger than in the past, but also a step slower and really not taking as good of care of the ball! Te-Hina just go play with unbelievable confidence and take it to the Lady Beavs! Shoot too score, not shoot too shoot, same for PK on her inside game! Enough on Te-Hina's role on the team, let's keep Chance growing in her game and watch her blossom into an all Pac-12 player. Endyia is our glue and we will get her best! Grace is a top talent who is only going to get better and better! Will PK play and if she does, will she neutralize the Beavers size? Kennedy will also continue to grow and be a force as we move forward. Here in my long winded write up are my thoughts on how this game could be decided! 3 veteran players, Taya, Alhise and Taylor. They have been important all year, but from here on out, they might be as important as anyone on the team. I have to believe that the other 6 players will play the way they can, and the last 3 I mentioned will be the difference in how far the team goes! All very talented and ready to explode in what they can do. Sorry for the long post, just want to see these Ladies all play the way they can. Go Ducks!!!
  4. We've been Duck fans for over 50 years, that is through the good, the bad and the ugly! U of O athletes have given us nothing but enjoyment even when we didn't do so well! 9-3 season, oh my gosh, who would of thought that back in August? Also I think that Coach Altman and Coach Graves are going to have their teams playing some very exciting Basketball as the year moves along! Always a Duck fan, Go Ducks!!!
  5. Another case of the grass not necessarily being greener and maybe promoting above ones skill level? Can't blame anyone for wanting to be the one in charge, but it's not as easy as it looks! Good luck MA.
  6. Great points Canvasback, especially on Kennedy! I agree that this Freshman class is going to be outstanding! Go Ducks!!!
  7. Yes, thanks Charles, No more rumors, Dante is coming to the U of O. I can't wait for signing day and too get Dante and family on campus as a big part of the Great Ducks future. I'm sure his Mom has paid attention to what Bo has done this year and what our two all time greats Justin and Marcus have been able to do at the next level. I know that Marcus hasn't had the greatest numbers, but there is a reason that his Head Coach is staying with him! My guess and it is only a guess, but I think Dante's Mom cares as much about what kind of person he grows into.
  8. Great point Charles! Hopefully we can have some good discussions on our Lady Ducks Basketball team this year. This is actually one of my favorite subjects. I too think PK can become a force. It really looks like they have been working with her on her game and her conditioning! I'm hoping as she gets more confident, she really develops her ownership of the low block. When she does and learns to shoot too score and not shoot too shoot, I will say watch out! There is a huge difference in the two types of shooting and Philly had one low post move late in the game that very much showed her strength and her touch. Very excited about the emerging leadership from Te-Hina and Endyia as well as many of the other players. Charles it was Kennedy who you saw and she is all of 6'7"". Sedona was an okay player who I don't think ever overcame her broken leg and the other injuries that plagued her career at Oregon! Wish her nothing but the best, but I honestly think with the competition that she saw this fall, it became clear that she would be on the short end of the stick. PK, Grace and soon to be Kennedy will have been the main go to bigs for our Lady Ducks! Add in Hosendove who can definitely play and Sedona's decision to not play besides her latest elbow injury it makes a lot of sense that she decided not to play through it. Can't blame her! I'll stop now as I could go on and on about our Lady Ducks program. I know members quit reading when the post is too long. Go Ducks, Our Women's and Men's teams can be fantastic this year!!!
  9. Well said Kamikaze Kid, well said!
  10. I think we got way more out of this year then most of us thought we would when the year began. We have at least one more game and maybe two. The future is very bright and while this was a disappointing loss I'm incredibly excited about the future! Go Ducks!!!!
  11. Totally agree with what you are saying Charles! I know our Duck players and Coaches really wanted to win this game. Unfortunately so did the Beavers! I'm not going to look in the rear view mirror, instead I will be excited to see who we play next and how much the team can improve their game and finish with either a 10 or 11 win season. Take care everyone and Go Ducks!!!!
  12. Great job Charles and everyone else! I guess I'm a little older than most, I remember being on the Beaver campus visiting friends, when the Great Pumpkin used to drive around in his Orange Corvette! Should be a really good game! Go Ducks beat those Beavers!!!!
  13. I like the "Battle for the Valley"! Works for all teams at both Schools.
  14. Southwest Duck I love your assessment! If we can have two great performances in the next two games, who knows what might happen?
  15. I think TT will have a good game if his number is called! Can't help but think that everyone inside of the building knows if Ty is going to be the starter! I know that it is standard practice for all programs to keep the other team guessing as to who will be playing? I think given Ty's play so far this year, it might be a good strategy to say right now that he will be starting. Can't help but believe the Utes being young people might just not come out nearly as fired up. Ty could then go out and play the game of a lifetime. I really do long for the old days when teams essentially said in advance of the game, here is our team no matter who is starting, go ahead and try to stop us!
