Is the College Football Playoff Selection Process Flawed?
Welcome back to OBD forum Mr. Whitty. Thank you for a well researched and written article. I love the history. So far I would say yes the process is flawed because humans are involved, and humans by nature are flawed. You have presented a thorough case for this jury member to consider. I'm looking forward to all the future knowledge you help us learn!

2023 Oregon Football: Agree on These Reflections?
Thank you Jon Joseph for writing today's article! Welcome back. I love your wit and style of writing. You had me with the GK "rotten Apple deal". It's been a good season watching our Ducks and reading everything on the forum, especially your posts. Go Ducks! Win the Fiesta Bowl!

Our Favorite Plays of the Oregon Ducks’ Season
I agree, Alex, that phenomenal pass by Bo Nix was great. Especially since it was against our state rival the Beavers! Thanks for writing your article today. Too many exciting plays to just choose one. On defense I would go with the harassment of ex duck Shough and the pick six that saved our victory against Texas Tech. But I think my favorite was the screen to Herbert with 900+ lbs of blockers leading the way. Especially with the finish line lean by Jackson Powers Johnson! So much fun! Go Ducks! Win the Fiesta Bowl!

The Oregon Duck Offense: Will Stein’s Top 5 Play Designs in First Season
Excellent analysis Coach Eric. Thank you for these articles all season! I couldn't agree more when you said, "Coach Stein did a lot of good things in his debut season with the Ducks, and it’ll be exciting to see what he has in store for the future of the Oregon offense." I agree with HappyToBeADuck, steamroll Liberty in the Fiesta Bowl. Go Ducks!

Heartbreak for the Ducks in Vegas
I agree with Haywarduck and others. They make great points. I'm thankful and grateful for Coach Lanning and his staff. The Ducks have been exciting and much improved over the previous staff. I offer one new look at last night's game. If I put myself in the shoes of a Husky player or coach and I'm 12 - 0. I'm ranked #3 in the nation. And the media, the oddsmakers, and the whole world says the Ducks are going to beat you. Then I would be pissed and highly motivated to prove everyone wrong. Give a team of great players major motivation and you get what you saw. Our Ducks stumbled at the start of the game. They fell behind, but they fought back. They never gave up. I'm proud of Our Beloved Ducks!

Does Dan Lanning Have a Kalen Deboer Problem?
Give credit to the Husky coaches. Oregon schemes to take away the deep throws. Washington was prepared to take the short quick routes and run more. Great game between two great teams!

GameDay Thread versus Washington in Pac-12 Championship: Join Us!
I have to respect the effort of Our Beloved Ducks to fight back. They played their hearts out. Washington has a good team. Their coaches had their team prepared. The team played for respect and started the game on fire. Love our Ducks! Win the next game!

Intelligent Conversation With A Husky Fan
I had a similar experience this afternoon waiting for my pizza at Papa Murphy's. The husky fan was a senior citizen like me. He didn't have any purple game wear on. He recognized me as a Duck fan (Black Oregon hoodie) and said he was a husky fan. We wished each other a good game. Then he said, " I do like Bo Nix. He's having a good year." I agreed and picked up my pizza and left. Imagine my surprise - a good interaction with a Washington Husky. I'm taking it as a good omen for the Ducks!

Which Michael Penix Will Oregon Face Tonight?
I have always wanted the opposing quarterback to be hit. I wanted him to hear footsteps the whole time worried about the hit. Hit Penix every pass attempt. I agree totally with everything you say Mr. FishDuck. Let the havoc reign! Go Ducks!

Beavers are Over-Valued, Over-Paid, Ungrateful and Unaccountable
I totally agree with your article Charles. When you said, "...the Beavis is also one of four schools that had overriding powers to hire: Lounge Suit Lawrence Scott." I thought OSU President Ray was "champagne" Larry's biggest enabler. The extravagant moves by commissioner Scott the beginning of the end of the Pac-12.

Lanning: 'I’m Not Going Anywhere'
Here is the video. He's committed to Oregon!

The Oregon Offense: The Hoss Concept
I love it ! Thanks Eric for taking the time to illustrate that great 2nd and 37 conversion. Actually the Cal defense was pretty sound. I agree with you the only thing they didn't account for was the speed of Tez Johnson and the rope thrown by Nix.

The Oregon Ducks Offense: Touch Pass Sweep
Excellent analysis again Coach Eric! Thanks for reviewing game film and giving us fans your insight to this year's offense. It helps me to change the setting on the video playback speed to 0.5 and watch in slow motion. I'm sure that the coaches have taught TE Ferguson and LT Conerly how to improve their foot path on blocking this play. I love that the players are buying into the mindset of going to the doctor to improve. Coach Lanning asking for 1% improvement every day is helping this team be such an explosive offense.

Dan Lanning's Vision is Coming Together in Eugene, Earlier than Some Expected
I'm not too worried about the future. Look at all the freshmen, RS Frosh, sophmores who are playing now and having an impact. Too many for me to list or try to spell. In addition we have the transfer portal which the coaching staff does a good job of evaluating. Then we also see the incoming committments from the HS recruiting. Coach Dan Lanning and staff will continue to create a complete elite team of Ducks!

What Brings You Back To Your Oregon Days?
This dates me but Chicago is my memory prompt. "Color My World" played at our wedding. The second band is Iron Butterfly's "Gadda Da Vida" and watching my future wife perform a dance to the drum solo in her dance class. Great memories!

Watch for the Y-Pop RPO in the Oregon Ducks Offense
Thanks for your article today, and thanks for finding video that shows your analysis so clearly! Saving plays for later in the season when future opponents think they have your tendencies they can take advantage of is great planning. Might we see this play when we go to Utah Saturday. Hopefully this play and several more up Coach Stein's sleeve! Thanks again Coach Eric!

Sleepy Ducks Oust Cougs in Autzen
Thanks Ryan for writing today's article. The Ducks were struggling at times. But in my humble opinion when our program is highly ranked and favored we're going to get an opponent's best game! No matter how bad they performed the prior week. The Cougar QB is an outstanding quarterback! He's a perfect fit for the air raid system - quick read, quick release, and very mobile. He has good receivers! Both of our Coordinators, Offense and Defense, are making in game adjustments. The whole staff is doing a good job of in game coaching! Every athletic contest is going to be intense. To win you must survive the storm and exert your will. I'm proud of our Ducks, players and coaches for playing all sixty minutes!

The Oregon Ducks Offense: The Texas Cross
Coach Eric, thank you for your analysis. Spot on! Execution by the QB of his progression as you said should be first - the bunch see what happens there. Perfect play call - Holden was wide open! Maybe one of the tendencies Bo developed is to look at his favorite receiver first. I'm sure he's realized his mistake and will make him an even better QB for the rest of the season.

What Happened to Oregon’s Jumbo Formation?
You make a good point David! Inquiring minds will wonder. I think that is part of the learning process our wonderful young coaches are going through. If the defense can't stop you keep doing it until they do. And when they do, hit them with a constraint play off of it. Balance is good, but why stop what works!
