  1. Thanks Pennsylvania Duck for the news feed. Awesome! UNC not only has a DB named Storm Duck, but their QB is named Drake! LOL!
  2. Thanks for the detailed need on defense and the players who could help. That takes a great deal of time and energy! Thank you DazeNConfused!
  3. Bucky and Noah are both sophomores. I've read that the only real requirement for eligibility is that a player has been out of high school for three years. That’s why now with the COVID year, instead of seeing people leave after their junior season, they might opt to leave after their sophomore campaign. I don't know what the two.of them plan.
  4. Darren, I agree with your statement, "Analytics does not take this into consideration, and it does not take into account momentum, injuries, or emotion." An experienced play caller knows when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em (punt). An experienced play caller knows to take the 3 and not to chase points for the rest of the game. Thanks Darren for your good "ramblings". Good points to ponder.
  5. Thank you David! Another great FishDuck article. I agree, Oregon's identity is the run game. A great football team is balanced running and passing. My favorite players are LaMichael James and Kenyon Barner. Bucky Irving and Noah Whittington remind me so much of those prior greats. Thank you for reminding us.
  6. Mario also gave us an embarrassing loss in Utah. In addition Mario then gave us an embarrassing loss in the Pac-12 Championship game. Then that head coach left us for Miami. Comparing a 3 point loss to Washington and a 4 point loss to OSU is not as bad as those 2 Utah losses last year. We were in the games this year. If not for an injured QB this season would have been 11-1. In my opinion this year was better than the chaos that Mario left behind in Oregon!
  7. I am so happy. This season is a vast improvement compared to how it went last year. Coach Lanning and his staff (assembled very quickly) managed to save a lot of recruits and Oregon players who were ready to bolt. The Transfer Portal was sifted and recruited. Who knew the quality running backs Irving and Whittington. Chase Cota improved the receiver room. Christian Gonzalez improved the DB room. The best experienced QB possible to get came to lead the Ducks. I will be forever grateful Bo Nix is an Oregon Duck! Nebraska fired a 9-3 coach because they felt they should have won a championship. Nebraska has been a loser ever since! I, for one, want to be patient. For now Dan Lanning has my trust.
  8. Thank you Drex for giving us perspective! There are so many things about Oregon football to enjoy and cheer about. Thanks!
  9. Thanks Pennsylvania Duck for all the news feed you post! Your service to OBD Forum is appreciated!
  10. Another 3 intriguing candidates out there to think about. Thank you Coach Boles for showing us there are other coaches who are capable of providing an exciting offense.
  11. Dirk Koetter get would be my #1. I remember the time Koetter was at Oregon. Great passing game, and with his NFL experience he would know the importance of a balanced attack. #2 would be your teaser Brian Hartline. His background coaching those receivers at Ohio State and his own NFL playing experience gives him great cred as a coach. Thanks, Dazed, for gathering these potential candidates and bringing it to the OBD Forum!
  12. Hutson with a T Kris Hutson Position Wide Receiver Height 5-11 Weight 172 Class Sophomore Hometown Compton, Calif. High School St. John Bosco HS
  13. I'm with Notalot. One game doesn't make a season. Today's game is important because it's against the Beavers. My family is split in this rivalry two daughters went to OSU and one to Oregon. Their husbands and children will watch the game with us. It is spirited fun and an all day get together! We love to tease the other side but it is "civil"! Darren, you make some good observations about what the Ducks need for a win. Let's hope they come true. Thanks for writing today's article! Go Ducks!
  14. Discussed ad infinitum! Thread yesterday had 40 posts. Thread in response to Canzano on this subject this Tuesday had 31 posts. Lots of excellent posts and discussion! Call it what you want. I'm watching the game tomorrow, and I will celebrate a good game of football! It will always be the civil war game to me.
  15. Oregon the winner 24-17 2 TO 2 Sacks 230 yards passing
  16. A rose by any other name is still a rose. To me a game by any other name is still the Civil War. Sometimes the Civil War is for the Roses! Thanks for the article today Alex!
  17. I can agree with everything you wrote. Good points to ponder and discuss. The high risk decisions have given the Ducks a lot of upside, but there has been some ugly "Why are you doing that?" moments. I feel our favorite Sheldon High School quarterback is playing for a similar young head coach of the Chargers. It's been an interesting season for Justin! However, football is always evolving. Thank goodness we aren't stuck in the old Woody Hays era of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Oops, sorry, I forgot about the Prevent Offense of Mari. New head coaches push the envelope looking for an edge. The forward pass was a risky endeavor at one time. Now look, 400 yards passing in a game happens all the time. I can only hope that the evolving of our beloved Duck coaches comes with less downside and more experience of the upside. Thank you Charles for your analysis and concern. Let's hope our Ducks can dam the Beaver offense and scorch their defense! Go Ducks!
  18. Thanks Jordan for writing today's article. It summed up the shock and frustration I was feeling watching that play. Excellent points of observation. Thank you! Happy ToBeADuck, you're exactly correct: "...the Utah defense was not caught off guard. The entire left side of the Utes D stayed home. Fundamentally sound football." The Ducks are 8-2 and for the season they are playing exciting football. The offense is unpredictable and prolific (compared to the Prevent O of the recent past). The defense is improving. They fix mistakes. Overall the young coaches are doing a fantastic job. I hope they are long time Oregon Ducks!
  19. ESPN does a crummy job of scheduling. I get ESPN ESPN2 and ESPNU. No ESPN News. Bah humbug ESPN!
  20. Winner Oregon 34-32 TO 2 Sacks 2 Passing yards 210
  21. Thanks Eric for giving us this play analysis! I agree that Coach Dillingham's play design is awesome. The third option to one of our running backs would be dynamite! The 14J personnel group is a great package of options. So much for a defense to think about and be prepared for.
  22. If I remember correctly, didn't Oregon State play Washington during a torrential rain storm? Penix played practically a perfect game against the Ducks. That's harder to do in a monsoon. I'm looking forward to see how OBD respond against Utah - a very good team. I'm confident about Oregon against the Beavers. Go Ducks!
  23. Thanks for your perspective on the game Darren! You summed up the causes very clearly. I appreciate your sense of humor in your last paragraph, "Well, friends, eat healthy, exercise, take your vitamins, and get your colonoscopies; we are going to have to live a little bit longer if we are going to catch those dastardly Huskies in our lifetime."
  24. TD pass for Justin! Chargers take opening drive 75 yards for score. Sunday night football 49ers and Chargers. D. Lenoir starting DB for niners.
  25. Thank you, Jordan, for your article today. Thanks for pointing out all the positives we have seen so far this season. Especially after our former head coach bailed on his team, and the end of the world seemed to be our destiny. That was a competitive game yesterday! Washington played the best game of their season. We didn't. We have a team that will get better. The coaches will get better. Oregon has a chance to finish 10-2 and go to a good bowl. Go Ducks!
