  4. Veteran Guards Lead WNIT Victory "I thought we played great," said UO coach Kelly Graves, whose team broke the game open with a 16-0 run in the second quarter. "I thought we really set the tone defensively. We were good tonight defensively, forced them into some turnovers, were able to get out in transition — especially in that second quarter. And then it just kind of kept going." "We're making the most of our opportunities," Rogers said. "We're still getting to play. There's people that just got knocked out today and they're going home, so we're just making the most of our opportunity and going as far as we can." "We got Oregon April 3." Those three trips will be important as they'll help him get a feel for where each of those schools are at before scheduling his official visits. It was the 2023 home opener for the Ducks who played their first 25 games of the season away from Eugene. "We were battling, we went to extra innings," said head coach Melyssa Lombardi. 8. Ducks nearly notch 100 in WNIT debut dismantling of North Dakota State Less than a week after missing out on the NCAA Tournament for the first time in six years, Oregon made short work of North Dakota State in its WNIT debut. Perimeter stars Te-Hina Paopao and Endyia Rogers paced the way with Paopao hanging a game-best 24 points and Rogers notching her first career-triple double in the 96-57 victory. Rogers finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists for the first since Sabrina Ionescu's departure three seasons ago. 9. WBB recap: Ducks cruise past Bison in first round of the WNIT For the first 10 minutes, the Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team looked like they hadn’t played in over a week. But then the Ducks turned on the jets and blitzed North Dakota State 96-57 to advance to the second round of the WNIT where they will host Rice. The first quarter seemingly featured two evenly matched teams as the Ducks held just a slim 19-15 lead. That was a mirage. 11. Ducks drop fourth straight, strikeout 17 times in loss to Washington State Oregon’s losing streak moves to four straight after dropping the first game of a three-game series against Washington State, 7-1. The loss moves the Ducks to 9-7 on the season and 1-3 in conference play. During this four-game losing streak, Oregon has been outscored by its opponents (UCLA, Niagara, and Washington State) 39-13. As pitching woes highlighted the three losses before Friday night, Oregon turned to its veteran on the rotation, Jace Stoffal. Stoffal was coming off the best start of his career, striking out nine Bruins over four innings. The Ducks looked for Stoffal to get them back on track, but early on, it was evident that command issues would plague them again.
