The sophomore is already receiving high marks and praise from a number of draft analysts and evaluators. All of them expect Gonzalez to be a first-round pick, with ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. predicting the Detroit Lions will select Gonzalez with the No. 6 pick in his mock draft 2.0 that was released Tuesday morning. DUCKS BRING MOMENTUM TO VEGAS If you're a potential opponent of the Oregon women's basketball team at this week's Pac-12 Tournament, good luck trying to anticipate just what you'll see from the Ducks. Throughout the 2022-23 season, the Ducks rarely have presented the same challenge for very long. They've seen the roster fluctuate, from two early season departures of potential mainstays to injuries taking their toll in recent weeks. They've had individuals enjoy hot streaks, and endure slumps. Some of those questions linger as the UO women (16-13) prepare to face Washington (15-13) in a first-round tournament game at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Mandalay Bay on Wednesday (2:30 p.m., Pac-12). But after wrapping up the regular season with a sweep of the Arizona schools at home last week, the Ducks took some positive momentum with them to Las Vegas on Tuesday. Ducks Bring Momentum To Vegas - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Consistency has been hard to come by this season for Oregon, but the Ducks were in a good place entering the Pac-12 Tournament.

Ducks look to 'keep it simple' before hosting San Diego in four game series Oregon is 4-3 to start the season, winning four straight to start and losing the aforementioned series to UCSB. Oregon is only one-eighth of the way through the season, and despite the ups and downs, it might help them to get the downs out now. "It's been a while since we've taken a kickin' like that," said senior outfielder Tanner Smith during Tuesday's media availability. "I think it's really good to get this done, get it out of the way early. I think it's really good for a lot of younger guys who haven't been through this and are new to college baseball and haven't realized what that feeling is. Especially when you don't have a midweek game, and it's weekend to weekend, and you just got swept; it's all that time, and it really slows down each day." Brennan Rigsby questionable for Thursday's game vs California Oregon sophomore guard Brennan Rigsby missed the team's come-from-behind victory at Oregon State this past weekend due to an ankle sprain. His status for the team's upcoming home game against California on Thursday is still in limbo. "He went a little today. Then he left and I didn't get a chance to ask him if Clay [Oregon's trainer] took him off or if he pulled himself off," said head coach Dana Altman. "But he did practice today, so he's close. Whether he's ready to go Thursday night I am not sure." Oregon is hoping to get Rigsby back on the floor to help provide rest for starting point guard Will Richardson who has been dealing with his own set of injuries. Richardson has been limited in practice after almost not playing in the team's win against Oregon State on Saturday. Ducks open Pac-12 Tournament with must-win against Washington Two strong defensive efforts paved the way for wins over Arizona and Arizona State, which combined to make less than 30 percent of their shots, and Oregon's offense seemed to flow better than in recent weeks with a reshuffled lineup. The demeanor of the team has changed, Graves says. An extra pep can be seen in players' steps, as the weight of the seven-game losing streak has dissipated, and the Ducks' path to the NCAA Tournament has become clearer. Based upon the latest ESPN projections, the Ducks remain the first team outside the field of 68, and Washington, whom the Ducks play on Wednesday to open the Pac-12 Tournament, is in a similar position. A win over the Huskies might only act as the team's 17th of the season, but based upon their computer profile (they have the nation's 18th best NET ranking), that might be enough to punch a ticket. Baylor AD Mack Rhoades: Big 12 must be ready for 'movement' from Pac-12 schools if media negotiations collapse Well, according to Baylor AD, The Big 12 is ready to add Pac-12 teams if the media deal is undesirable. His viewpoint: Though Baylor and the Big 12 have already secured a new TV deal, Rhoades said he would not be elated as an athletic director if presented a media deal featuring a streaming service as a primary partner. "It would be disappointing to be quite frank," Rhoades told 365 Sports. "Where I go first is the brand of the conference, which means impact on recruiting. Conversations with my head coaches, in terms of brand building and linear space — I know everyone talks about cord cutting, but (TV) is still the way people follow college athletics. If you think about not just the event itself but the shows throughout the week and even on game day. With FOX, you think about game day and their shows. I think it would be a big disappointment for the athletic directors and their coaches." I wonder how many ADs and coaches in the Pac-12 share this opinion? If it is an issue, it might be hard to retain good coaches. We have to hope that the College Presidents in the Pac-12 are communicating well with ADs/coaches. Pac-12 MBB Power Rankings: Teams making moves with time running out March is nearly upon us, and the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament is going to be a doozy with multiple teams squarely on the bubble of making the NCAA Tournament. Arizona State took a huge leap forward with their epic, buzzer beating victory over rival Arizona on the road Saturday, and they now have a chance to go even further with games against USC and UCLA to close out the regular season. USC has made up some ground as well, having won eight of their last 10 games, but losses at Oregon and at Oregon State hurt their resume and have them in a precarious position before their final games against Arizona and Arizona State. Everyone else is hoping for a miracle run in the conference tournament to potentially earn themselves an auto-bid or a surprise at-large consideration, with the Pac-12 only guaranteed two teams in the big dance – far less than every other Power-5 conference. Here is a look at the Pac-12 power rankings heading into the final week of the regular season: Pac-12 MBB Power Rankings: Teams making moves with time running out DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Arizona State’s upset win over Arizona was the biggest game in the Pac-12 last week, as teams start to settle in ahead of the... -
Oregon Football Signee Spotlight: EDGE Blake Purchase Purchase is as physical as he is athletic. He played a mix of both the interior and exterior of the defensive line during his senior campaign, but mostly stayed at his true edge spot. His get off speed mixed with his use of hands to shuck offensive linemen help get him into the backfield with ease. If the ball was on the opposite side of the field Purchase found a way to get there as well. He has an itch to get where he's supposed to be and do it in a hurry. His long strides and quickness make his 240 pounds look like feather weight. He mainly played as a stand-up lineman even in the interior but still managed to be the lower man to make multiple plays in the backfield. Purchase was named 2022 Colorado Gatorade High School Football Player of the year in early December. He finished his senior year with 57 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, eight pass deflections and a forced fumble. Click here to read the article about Blake Purchase in Ducks Digest.
