  1. In our family, we find it much more difficult sleepwise to travel from West to East. You can't get to sleep until really late, then waking up in the morning because you've lost 2 or 3 hours asleep, you are tired and not alert. If you have an early game scheduled, that is not good.
  2. Pac-12 Tournament seeding on the line ahead of Oregon at Oregon State Going into the second-to-last weekend of the college men's basketball regular season the Oregon Ducks have a wide range of possible outcomes for how they finish in the Pac-12 standings. Third place is still on the table while a fourth-place finish is perhaps more realistically attainable. But if Oregon isn't careful the Ducks could drop to eighth or ninth place in the standings as well. "I haven't looked at it, to be honest," said the Oregon Duck head coach Dana Altman. "I looked at Oregon State, the next one. I think our guys have an idea because I heard them talking about it. We can't be looking at three games, we have to be looking at one." 4. Oregon Football Signee Spotlight: WR Ashton Cozart Cozart uses his size to his ability to make plays down the field. He was a taller wide receiver at the high school level and spent a majority of his time as the outside receiver on an island against defensive backs. With his size also comes speed that allows him to shake defenders off when running his routes. A majority of his touchdowns came from simply being the faster man and getting that first initial step in his route break down. When he's tested in press coverage is when you get to see his route development really come out. What's also impressive in the film is how many plays were 20 yards or more downfield rather than quick and go routes. He's just as shifty when he gets the ball as he had a habit of making defenders whiff on attempted tackles. Safety help didn't affect his play as he used his frame to make those consistently took the top off defenses. Click here to read about Ashton Cozart in Ducks Digest.
  5. Ducks get notable bump in ESPN Bracketology after upset win over No. 14 Arizona Kelly Graves’ squad was on an unprecedented 7-game losing streak heading into Thursday’s game against the No. 14 Arizona Wildcats, and they had dropped 9 of their last 10 games. Fortunately, a much-needed upset over Arizona might have turned things around. In the latest edition of ESPN’s Bracketology, Oregon moved up from the “Next 4 Out” category to where they now sit, at the top of the list of the “First 4 Out.” This means that if the tournament were to be seeded today, it’s likely that the Ducks would still be on the outside of the bubble looking in, but they’re in a better spot than they were a day ago. 6. What’s encouraging about the 2023 season is that it could feature one of the most talented rosters we’ve ever seen at Oregon. It’s hard to quantify talent, but one of the best ways is to look back at recruiting rankings and go from there. Of course, some of the best players in Oregon history were not highly-rated recruits — take Marcus Mariota or Justin Herbert, for example — so predicting success based on a 247Sports score is not a perfect practice. However, if you look at some of the top recruits in Oregon history — Kayvon Thibodeaux, Haloti Ngata, Jonathan Stewart, etc. — then you can see that it offers at least a solid representation of perceived talent. For this exercise, we looked at Oregon’s current roster heading into spring football and took a look at how many of them fall in the top 100 of Oregon’s all-time recruiting list. Oregon Football: Ducks’ roster among most talented in UO history DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM There is no shortage of talent on Oregon’s roster this year. 25 of the top-100 rated recruits in UO history are on the 2023 roster.

Complete Performance Tames Wildcats Oregon played well at both ends of the floor and got balanced production offensively to beat No. 14 Arizona on Thursday, ending a seven-game losing streak with a 73-59 win before 6,173 fans in Matthew Knight Arena. "I'm really proud of the team," UO coach Kelly Graves said in his postgame press conference with local media. "If you were around our team — and some of you have been — they've never given up. They've never hung their heads. Our practices are spirited. They're still a close-knit group. I knew that we had a game like this in us. And now I just hope that this is something that we can use, this momentum, to propel us forward at a really important time. 11. If Pac-12 crumbles, don't expect SEC to covet the scraps. Listen to Greg Sankey | Toppmeyer SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey occasionally offers a valuable peek at his hand, and Sankey’s comments earlier this month point to the SEC’s lack of desire for table scraps, whether that be the Huskies, Ducks or any other far-flung program housed in a conference standing on tenuous footing. Sankey jabbed at the Big Ten after it added UCLA and Southern Cal to stretch its B1G footprint from Los Angeles to Piscataway, New Jersey. Contrast that with the SEC’s heist of Oklahoma and Texas, schools that fit the conference’s identity and enhance its already robust football brand, while increasing the SEC’s media rights appeal and boosting its strength across all sports. “We really haven't expanded our geographic reach,” Sankey told the SEC Network earlier this month. “Our longest trip will be from Columbia, South Carolina, to Austin, Texas. … You realize that’s actually shorter than what will be the shortest trip for the L.A. schools, when they move to the Big Ten?” If Pac-12 crumbles, don't expect SEC to covet the scraps. 12. Ducks pull off important upset of No. 14 Arizona; snap seven game losing streak Heading into the final weekend of regular season play, Oregon needs all the wins they can get. To be exact, only two wins remain possible for the regular season. Oregon and head coach Kelly Graves can add one to their tournament resume after an important and dominating *insert score* victory over the 14th-ranked Arizona Wildcats. With the win, Oregon snaps its seven game losing streak, the longest of Graves' Oregon career. Oregon's offense incorporated plenty of ball movement and player movement throughout the night, as the Ducks worked primarily off high pick and rolls with their primary ball handler. The results included plenty of easy backdoor layups and open jumpers.
