Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks might have surprised some people earlier this month when they announced the hiring of A’lique Terry as the new offensive line coach, replacing veteran OL coach Adrian Klemm. Terry, while an incredibly promising young coach with a bright future, is still early in his career, and one of the knocks on Lanning’s coaching staff in 2022 was that it could benefit from more veteran experience. It looks like Lanning has made a move to help that. According to a report from On3’s Matt Zenitz, the Ducks are hiring veteran OL coach Mike Cavanaugh as the assistant offensive line coach to Terry, and he will also serve in an analyst-type role. Can Oregon women’s basketball snap 7-game losing streak against No. 14 Arizona? At the start of the season Kelly Graves gave each of Oregon’s players journals they could use to reflect throughout the season, track goals, improvement and express gratitude. Whether players individually kept up with the daily exercise was up to them, but the practice of finding positive trajectory and appreciation has been a challenge over the last month based on the on-court results for the Ducks (14-13, 5-11 Pac-12), who enter tonight’s game (7 p.m., Pac-12 Oregon) against No. 14 Arizona (21-6, 11-5) on a seven-game losing streak, the longest of Graves’ tenure at UO. Oregon Football Signee Spotlight: DL A'Mauri Washington Despite being nearly 300 pounds he's very light on his feet. He shows good short-area burst and his length at 6'4" aids in his pursuit of quarterbacks and the ballcarrier. He very much has the body type recruiting experts and coaches tell you isn't typically found out West. Another complement to his athleticism is his play style. He showcases good leverage and has a compact running style which allows him to be involved on so many plays. His strength and power off the line of scrimmage help him shuck blockers and eat up double teams. Even when teams double team him, Washington finds a way to impact the play, getting a hand on a ball to bat a pass or pushing his blocker into the action. In 2022 he forced two fumbles and had nine pass deflections. Click here to read about A'Mauri Washington in Ducks Digest.
