I respectfully disagree with 2002Duck that the school on the Montlake is a “much better” school than Oregon… the comparison is apples to oranges… I personally call the Seattle school the U”fricken”W for a number of reasons… one of which is that the focus of the UFW is Engineering and Computer Science… similar to ORYGUN State… where Oregon is focused on the pure Sciences, Business, Education, etc… so there’s a minimum of comparisons… Statistically graduates of State funded Universities tend to stay and live in the area… Seattle has Boeing, Microsoft, and now Amazon where Eugene has some industry but most graduates move on to Portland and the world… But most who attended Oregon have a well rounded education of school classes and a collective experience where we gan go anywhere in the world and when we meet a fellow duck (younger or older), we can exchange a GO Ducks O, and we have a friend… The UFW students can only share living in a big city on a campus with a huge population of commuters… I could go on, but you already understand where I’m going… if you went to school on the Montlake, I would have to further explain… Oregon is a great University… period.

Charles… sorry it may seem I’m late to the party. However, I appreciate your efforts and the opinions of the other contributors to this site… the old saying “to know the good, you must experience the bad”… other sites are dominated by “blow hards” that try to impress by their using a “zero sum game” approach to belittle and be condescending to other contributors… I got tired and left those sites out of boredom… then I found this forum… civil, informative, passionate with the belief to make our daily discourse enriching… and I know it is only because of your diligence and vision. thanks Charles… thanks to all the contributors that play by the rules….

Charles… this might be a time consuming process… but there must be at least 3 people who you trust that could act like a “panel” to remove the pointed attacks… to express and suggest a more appropriate comment to the offender… with you as the final “Supreme Court”.. example “Lopui is a flaming idiot” where you would forward this to the duty review board (these individuals are on a rotating basis)… their sole job is to propose to the originator, an alternative draft to be submitted to you and the originator to discuss… and agree. therefore if I was the review board… I would read the input… ask the originator for clarification of their comments… could be a simple case of picking the wrong word choice… further ask originator if a proposed draft could be…. “Lopui can be an idiot remember the time…. “. The new draft would defuse the pointed comment. Use humor to encourage improvement.. as for personal comment on a player… that still is forbidden… encouragement only. Never comment on physical talents. this empowers the readers to police themselves… recommend a group of 12 total with 4 groups of 3 to be the “review” boards… that means their on duty 1 week on with 3 weeks off… or called upon when it gets real busy… Thoughts? very respectfully mark

Watching the BEAVs playing U$C ( in my house the University of Spoiled Children) I was perturbed when I witnessed the Refs choke on their whistles when a $C OT hold then finally tackle the BEAV edge rush, deep in SC territory, right in front of them… it turned into a first down and probably changed the course of the game… seems liked the fix was in… a U$C victory… So I only ask the PAC-12 leadership consider sending all the worst of the deplorable bad Refs to only work the U$C and UCLA games and make all calls against them… Additionally, would like to see PAC-12 leadership CANCEL all scheduled 2023 league games for U$C and UCLA so they would be ineligible for Bowl games… who cares what $C thinks… they are leaving anyway.

Glad he was a recruiter that brought great players with potential and maturity… Glad to see the back of him… I would entertain a meteorite strike that takes out both teams (and the stadium)…

University of Oregon 17 BYU 0 3 turnovers 2 sacks 177 yards passing BYU’s first first down will be start of 3rd quarter… Duck special teams will keep BYU pinned deep the entire game.

In 1967, As a 12 year old kid living in Sunnyvale CA, before the OREGON vs Stanford football game, my folks told me that we had a visitor coming to the house… it was Jerry Frei… seems that my folks and Jerry (and his wife Marian) all grew up and went/graduated from Stoughton High School in Stoughton Wisconsin. Coach Frei was a very dynamic and powerful presence. From that point on I was a duck. We went to the game and I believe the Ducks lost… But I knew where I was going…. And I did.
