  1. I don’t know. Utah has certainly earned any praise they get. And Whittingham is a very good coach. I would love to see the Utes go into the Swamp on Sept. 3 and embarrass the Gators.
  2. I agree, no sour grapes here either. I’m disappointed he chose Texas and it’s a negative hit for our recruiting class, but I wish Arch the best. Perhaps the media storm will die down a bit now over his recruitment. That’s gotta be much for a kid to handle. As far as Railoa, I also agree. He will be very good. Committed to tOSU but what’s the saying? “Many a slip between a cup and the lip” It’s likely Kirby tries hard to flip him. Maybe wishful thinking, but you never know.
  3. Absolutely, Its been approaching 100 in GA and the humidity here makes it feel worse. 🥵
  4. I’m a little disappointed. We recruited Arch pretty hard. Texas will likely get several other top recruits bc of this.
  5. My apologies, I responded to you before and forgot to quote you. Forgive me I’m a new member. Please look above for response. Also, well done. That’s hilarious
  6. Don’t be fooled, he’s little but he’s wirey. I mean look at that one eye he has open. There is a twinkle there. It’s almost as if he is peering straight into your soul. That’s a bad Dawg! And I mean lets be honest, we’d all sit in tea cups if we could. It’s like a ride at Disney! 😂😅😂
  7. I firmly believe that CDL was an excellent hire by Oregon. Yes he is a first time HC and starting at a major program, but so was Smart. I know he is a very good coach and a great recruiter. Sure recruiting is a bit different on the west coast than in the south but I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t fit right in and recruit very well at Oregon. It’s likely he even poaches some of the great talent we have in the southeast. Not that he really needs to. There is tons of talent on that side of the country for the taking. As far as the D goes, I expect CDL will emphasize winning the line of scrimmage and speed with discipline. That philosophy will make the Ducks Defense a force to be reckoned with in the near future and it will win the Ducks many games. Maybe even this season. I don’t want to unnecessarily caution expectations the first year bc the Ducks do have much more talent than most programs, but so did Kirby coming into the UGA job and we went 8-5. Not terrible but well below the standard Richt set. I’m not saying this bc I expect Oregon to struggle this year, far from it. But it is possible to hit a few bumps when major changes take place. Although, I will not be surprised if the Ducks hit the ground running with Lanning and Co. (I realize Ducks fly but it’s just an expression Lol). I do selfishly hope they don’t fly too high on Sept.3😂. I lived in Canada for many years and learned to like hockey, so at the moment I’m content watching the NHL Finals. But the only thing I can tell you that I’m sure of is that I can’t wait for CFB to kickoff! I’ll even give you a Go Ducks!!! But I’ve also gotta say Go Dawgs!!! You understand right?😄
  8. Cool, thanks for answering.
  9. If I wanted to, how would I go about changing it?
  10. Where can the PAC-12 expand? Good question. I would say with schools from the Mountain West is the most viable option. But then it might actually cut revenue. How can the PAC-12 become relevant in CFB again? I would say the PAC-12 is relevant and always has been. They just haven’t won a national title in awhile. Some reason for that is competition inside the conference. If there were an undefeated PAC-12 champ it would take some unlikely things happening to keep them out of the playoff. And if they had a win against a quality Big 10 or Sec school it would be impossible to keep them out. Even a 1 loss champ could make a strong case for the playoff. It would depend on what happened elsewhere that season.
  11. I will admit. I can tell you there were Dawg games in 2015 that were like watching paint dry. It’s kinda sad that one of our most compelling games that year was an overtime win against Ga Southern! It was very embarrassing for UGA.
  12. One thing that I think hurts PAC-12 viewership is the time of your guys prime time games. There are a ton of viewers in the Eastern and Central time zones that don’t watch one of the best PAC-12 games every week bc it starts so late. I do when possible but for many it’s just not an option. I don’t see a way around this. You gotta have prime time cfb on the west coast. I personally love it. It means I can catch more good games.
  13. Where are you getting your viewer statistics? Must not be from last season.
  14. I think the GA D will be good, but I’ve no misconceptions that they will be as good as last season. It will be a work in progress as well. Honestly just attrition is the reason I believe this. I think our D lost 8 to the draft and 5 in the first round. It would be crazy to think that there won’t be some serious regression bc of this. We have very talented players available to step up and even though we will miss CDL we still have strong coaching on that side of the ball. Many of these players have no experience starting but most have game experience. We have a few key returning players in Nolan Smith, Jalen Carter, Kelee Ringo, and Christopher Smith. These guys will be a plus for us. Carter specifically is an absolute beast. Time will tell about our guys stepping up on the DL but I’m optimistic about them and having Carter in the rotation helps tremendously. Our secondary and ILB positions give me alarm. Again, talented players stepping up, but these are tough positions to excel in. The game moves very fast at these positions so experience goes a long way. What I’m most concerned about is that GA like Oregon is having to replace its field general. Nakobe Dean was the heart of our D. He was the guy everyone depended on. If someone can step up and fill that void with confidence things will likely go smoothly. If not, it might start a bit rough. In all I’m very optimistic. The talent is there and I’m confident that the coaching is well above average. But it will likely take time. I expect our D is good from the start and gets very good as the season matures. Barring many injuries.
  15. In all seriousness, that’s not a bad handle. Wish I had thought of that before.😁
  16. I agree, I know losing Flowe last season was a big loss. Hopefully he can stay healthy. I expect Lanning and Co will do very well. I agree it might take some time for things to gel, but I know Lanning is a very good coach. He will also be a great recruiter for the Ducks just as he was for the Dawgs. I was disappointed when Lanning left UGA, but also happy for him. I was worried before that he might go to a school that I can’t pull for, but relieved when he accepted the Oregon job. I think things are looking up in Eugene! Don’t get me wrong, my allegiances are clear on Sept. 3. I mean I’ve been a Dawg since I was a toddler. After that I’ll enjoy pulling for the Ducks no matter what happens on Sept. 3. Of course unless we meet again in the playoff!😁
  17. The situation you described is most unfortunate. I don’t envy you in having to deal with it. You and the moderators here are not alone though. These kinds of things happen everywhere. My initial impression of this forum is very positive. I’m very happy to have been made to feel welcome to interact with Duck fans. As CFB fans we are all subject to being a bit too passionate and occasionally losing control of our impulses. But it is important that we recognize our mistake and don’t become a habitual offender. I’ve certainly been guilty a few times on my Dawgs forum. It’s also a good forum and the moderators do a pretty good job. Bantering with one another and having spirited discussions is part of the fun of being on a forum such as this. But there is always a way to convey feelings and thoughts in a playful if not respectful way. I also mentioned in a post that I hope none of our crazies find this forum. What I really mean is I hope I don’t see any Dawg fans show up here and act disrespectful towards Oregon. I doubt it happens, most Dawg fans I know aren’t much different than the Duck fans I’ve encountered here. They would come here to talk, maybe banter with Ducks, and mostly just to learn about Oregon fans and the Oregon program.
  18. I agree completely with amcdawg, this is a great board full of respectful and knowledgeable CFB fans. I also thank all the Ducks here for welcoming us Dawgs. And I hope that not many of our crazies find this board. Lol
  19. I don’t claim to know much about DJ, only what I’ve read and what you guys say on here. Everything I’ve read about DJ has been very positive and I’ll add that most things I’ve read about Duck D talent has been very positive. I don’t feel comfortable going into detail about what I think bc you guys certainly know your talent better than I. I’ll just say I had no idea before of the talent, especially in the Ducks front seven. Of course I was well aware last year Thibs and Sewell were insanely good, but every CFB fan with a pulse knew that. I’m excited to follow the Ducks and this defense this season. This in no way means I think harshly of the offense, I just haven’t learned as much about the Duck offense yet. Really all I know is you guys have a very good O-line, good TEs, and it’s possible that Nix starts at QB. Oh, and I’m big on Cardwell at RB. I apologize for getting long winded and straying so far off-topic. I wasn’t sure about starting a new topic being a new member and a Dawg fan at that Lol. So I just plugged my thoughts in where they fit best. How do you guys think the D performs this year?
  20. Jordan James was a very nice recruiting win for Oregon. I watched him play in a televised game last season and he was awesome. I was very excited about him coming to GA, and very disappointed when he chose Oregon instead. Although, at least he didn’t turn us down for a conference rival, Ohio State, or USC Lol. You gotta good one Ducks. Well done! After all this, we did sign a kid named Andrew Paul from Texas that looks promising. Not as highly rated as James, but Paul looks pretty good.
  21. Keys that could give Oregon their best chance to pull off the upset. 1. I agree with the notion that Oregon needs to establish its running game. It’s a big ask but likely not as daunting as it would have been last season. If GA is forced to respect the running game it will really help The Ducks offense. Oregon has a good O-line, and they must have a good game. 2. In contrast to #1, don’t allow GA’s running game to control the flow. GA plans to get a comfortable lead and then lean on the run to wear Oregon down. Also, if GA thrives in the run game, Bennet will likely also thrive, especially on play action and read plays. This will be a hard to stop. GA has 3 freakishly talented TE,s that Oregon will often see on the field at the same time. They block very well and create mismatches all over. 3. Obviously, don’t turn the ball over. 4. Exploit any weakness you can find. I’m not sure the the 2022 GA defense will have any obvious weakness, but if they do it could be key for Oregon. I can tell you that the GA D will be very fast everywhere and speed oftentimes makes up for mistakes. But GA is replacing many starters on D, it’s possible that Lanning can find some first game weaknesses.
  22. It absolutely does. It also fires fans up a bit and likely players as well.
  23. It means very little in the preseason. If I’m remembering correctly, last preseason GA had one player voted for 1st team All SEC defense and two for third team. Mistakes are always made in preseason for whatever reason. The season will correct these mistakes.
  24. I agree. Since last season’s game against tOSU, the Ducks have once again been close to the center of my CFB radar. Things will only get better I think. I just hope the Ducks don’t realize their full potential in wk 1 Lol.
  25. Well said Sir. I remember what the Ducks did to tOSU last season. I’m not so confident to think it can’t happen against GA. I expect and hope for a very good game. If I’m being honest I must admit that I’m excited about playing Oregon this season, but also a bit worried, especially bc this game is in wk 1.
