The Case for Oregon as a Top 5 Preseason Eeam, Big Ten Title Contender in 2024

The expectations are sky-high for the Oregon Ducks ahead of the 2024 season as they join the Big Ten Conference with hopes of instantly being dominant and competing for a national championship in the new expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

So much so that On3’s Andy Staples has them ranked as the No. 4 team in the country in his preseason rankings. A ranking that he and Jesse Simonton justified and broke down on Tuesday during Andy Staples On3.

Oregon is chasing multiple 5-star recruits in 2025, including Dakorien Moore

Oregon has one 5-star commit in 2025 in WR Dallas Wilson, and they're trying to add another 5-star at that spot pushing hard for Dakorien Moore. How many 5-star commits will the Ducks land in the class of 2025?

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin is joined by Locked On recruiting insider Brian Smith. Dakorien Moore is the biggest 2025 name Oregon is after, but he shares updates on several other blue chip prospects the Ducks are pursuing. 10:35

The NCAA recently changed recruiting rules to allow for unlimited visits. What does that mean for recruiting in Eugene? It's probably good news.

  6. On 5/22/2024 at 1:09 AM, Nevada Dawg said:

Are there controls over what students can do with their tickets? When Georgia played at Notre Dame in 2017, Dawg fans were able to obtain many of the student tickets I am told. They were also buying far more tickets, literally thousands of them, by flashing the green to ND partisans that saw the opportunity to make a quick buck. The result was that the crowd that night at Notre Dame Stadium was estimated at about 35-40% Dawg fans.

Lets hope that the Oregon fans have a little more discipline and risk temptation to sell out to the enemy.

Student tickets are not for sale.  Student sections are 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the top of 2.  Student sections are on a first come-first seat basis.  Mobile ticket and Student ID are required to receive a wristband for entry.

OSU's allotment of tickets are 3,000 in the visitor sections.

So far there are 185 tickets available on the resale market.  The cheapest ticket you can buy is in section 26, row 82 for $466 and that's not including all the fees.  Highest price for a ticket is $3,684, not including fees.  There are some season tickets OSU fans bought.

I know when I traveled to see a game at Autzen, there are not very many flights going into Portland and Eugene on a normal bases.  I can see why they would have to increase the number of flights to accommodate 3,000 fans.

  7.

OSU do get 3,000 visitor tickets to Autzen.  According to what Rob Mullins said.  I believe that is the allotment the BIG conference allows.

Thank goodness there was a big sell out of season ticket holders.  Yes, I know there are 15 zip codes from Ohio bought season tickets, but does not mean it comes out very many.  I do know from Rob Mullins said the student section has increased.  They will be in school before the OSU game.  None of those tickets will be available to OSU fans.

What they should do is bring in more temporary seating like they did during the Chip Kelly era.

Oregon Footballl has real reason to feel better than Ohio State post Spring

Ohio State and Oregon are the top 2 favorites in the Big 10, with both fanbases feeling supremely confident in their team. Oregon fans have a legitimate reason to feel just a touch better than the Buckeyes right now.

Today's episode of Locked On Ducks with Spencer McLaughlin is a crossover with 'Locked On Buckeyes' host Jay Stephens. How big of a concern is it that Ryan Day's team doesn't have its QB situation figured out? 10:00

Spencer and Jay also look at the top units for both teams coming out of Spring practice. The biggest matchup just might be the trenches for the October 12th showdown. 20:10

In January, Dayton men’s basketball coach Anthony Grant made headlines by directing a blunt message to gamblers he said were using social media to send hateful messages to his players.

"I have to say something because I think it’s just necessary at this point,” Grant told reporters. “When we have people that make [the game] about themselves and attack kids because of their own agenda, it sickens me.”
