  1. Will Stein see's this kid is special. Class of 2027 quarterback Trent Seaborn started as a varsity quarterback while still in middle school Trent Seaborn is only an eighth grader at Thompson Middle School (Alabama), but his high school football resume is already the stuff of legend. Last fall, the 6-foot, 178-pound signal-caller played up at the high school level, won the starting job on varsity and led Thompson High School to an Alabama class 7A state championship, throwing for 201 yards and five touchdowns in the title game. On Wednesday, the dynamic middle schooler picked up a scholarship offer from the Oregon Ducks — and immediately expressed both excitement about the rich quarterback tradition of the program and an eagerness to visit Eugene. kid https://news.scorebooklive.com/recruiting/2023/03/01/oregon-ducks-offer-alabama-8th-grade-quarterback-who-led-hs-team-to-7a-state-title

  3. Dan Lanning's debut recruiting class factored in to some of Oregon's on field success in 2022. But while a handful of players carved out roles, the majority of the 17-player 2022 signing class did not. Of the 17 freshmen who enrolled last year, four appeared in enough games to avoid redshirt, led by offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr, who saw action in all 13 games. Oregon fans have become somewhat familiar with that foursome. The 13 redshirts who remain on the roster? Not so much. In this series, we'll do our best to bring you up to speed with them. Today, we begin the series with linebacker Devon Jackson. Redshirt Review: Devon Jackson 247SPORTS.COM Redshirt Review: Devon Jackson

  10. Dylan Raiola is the top-ranked quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class and while his visit to Nebraska to see family and catch a basketball game made headlines over the weekend, one team people are sleeping on too much is Oregon football. However, according to what Raiola told Chad Simmons of On3.com, he’s not ready to decide anytime soon and it sounds like Oregon football will get a visit. Raiola told Simmons he will visit Georgia, and Nebraska and also that he “definitely” wants to visit Oregon. Don’t count out Oregon football The Ducks are a recruiting force on the West Coast, so it’s not surprising that a recruit from Arizona would consider them. Dan Lanning has also shown he’s ruthless on the trail and more than capable of winning a contested recruitment. After all, Oregon football did land Dante Moore before he re-opened things and went to UCLA. All Oregon football did was flip four-star Austin Novosad from Baylor on national signing day, so if the Ducks get Raiola up to Eugene, with the facilities and Nike, they will be a serious threat. 11. The Oregon Ducks have had a strong start to the 2024 recruiting cycle, with the No. 8 class already in the 247Sports national rankings. There’s a good chance that it’s going to get even better, with a recent ratings boost for one commit, and one primary target coming down the pipeline over the last week. According to the On3 rankings, Oregon OT Fox Crader received a nice boost in the national rankings. The 4-star prospect has moved up to No. 72 overall in the 2024 class, when he was previously ranked at No. 146, per On3. Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Crader is listed as the No. 315 player in the nation. As for Justin Williams, a 4-star LB who is currently favored to land with the Ducks according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Predictions, a big jump in the rankings was seen as well. Williams is all the way up to No. 39 per On3’s rankings, where he previously sat at No. 103. 12. Thanks Darren for the article. As you pointed out, Pac-12 needs to be creative in order to survive. Hopefully expansion will help along with a good streaming/linear media package. Just to put things in perspective about Apple. Apple tops any company, including Amazon and ESPN/Disney, etc. Even if you combine Amazon, Meta and Alphabet, Apple is greater. Apple is 454 billion dollars larger than Amazon and 90% of entire countries. Don't have to read these below, but wanted to show the strength of Apple financials. One area, I'm sure, Apple wants to and needs to improve immensely is in the media market. The iPhone manufacturer's value leapt by one trillion dollars in just 16 months, even though global economy shanked. This is just my opinion, think about all those iPhones out there if Pac-12 is on the Apple TV app. Yes, Apple needs to improve in the media market shares. If they are pushing to gain ground in the TV market world, how long do you think it will take for them to get there? From what I can see maybe not long. Whether Apple is involved in negations or not, they have the financials to out-bid any competitor, if so chooses. At this point let's hope the Pac-12 will put together a decent media contract. I would prefer a short contract, no more than 5 years. Would also like to see incentives for schools who do make the playoffs, etc. They should get a greater share of the money. Maybe not get stuck in some enormous buyout if they choose to leave the conference. The reality is down the road, shake ups might happen again with conference realignments, but at this point no one knows what the future will hold. 15. Hi Haywarduck. This article that came out back in January by Erik Skopil stated the coming season will be 75% Dan Lannings added players. Hope this helps. Whenever a new head coach takes over a program, it's suggested that patience will be required before judging the hire until he builds a team of his guys. Not much patience is required these days. Thanks to the advent of the transfer portal and the elimination of signing class size restrictions, schools can retool rosters much quicker than in the past. Dan Lanning inherited a roster of mostly Mario Cristobal's guys with a mixture of Willie Taggart and even Mark Helfrich recruits sprinkled when he took over in late 2021. One year later and Lanning is in the process of turning over the majority of the roster. The Ducks have already signed 28 prep recruits and have commitments from six transfer portal players to boot. The additions seem far from over, as the Ducks remain real players for a handful of top unsigned high school players and are also pushing for more transfer additions too. Scholarship math is tough this time of year, but it seems likely that when all is said and done, and the 2023 roster is set in stone, that around 75 percent of that roster will be made up of players brought in by Lanning over what will be a 20-month span. 18. Hayes: Sources convinced Big Ten isn't finished raiding the Pac-12 So we’re going to continue with this charade, this exercise in futility, despite the inevitable. The Pac-12 may soon sign a new, undervalued media rights deal. The Pac-12 may soon believe it has saved itself for the time being. But ladies and gentlemen, the Pac-12 isn’t long for the new college sports landscape. “If anyone thinks the Big Ten isn’t coming back for more, they’re not following along,” an industry source told Saturday Out West this week. The official end of the wildly underrated Pac-12 arrives when the Big Ten finds a media rights partner — network or cable television, and/or a streaming service — to foot the bill for the conference to add more schools from the Pac-12. Because the Big Ten isn’t leaving USC and UCLA alone on the West coast. It must protect its investment. Hayes: Sources convinced Big Ten isn’t finished raiding the Pac-12 SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM 'If anyone thinks the Big Ten isn't coming back for more, they're not following along,' a source told our Matt Hayes. Bottom line: The Pac-12 is in trouble as a Power 5 league.

  21. Bronny James and Oregon commit Kwame Evans projected lottery picks in 2024 NBA mock draft. Bronny James isn’t the only name that Oregon Duck fans should be focused on, though. While James is yet to make his commitment and is still said to be heavily considering the Ducks, there is an Oregon commit who is in the mix for a top pick in 2024. 5-star PF Kwame Evans is even higher on the board than James is. According to ESPN’s latest 2024 mock, Evans is projected to go to the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 9 overall pick, with James is projected to go to the Orlando Magic with the No. 10 overall pick. 23. Vancouver (Wash.) Evergreen offensive lineman Fox Crader hasn't backed away from his commitment to Oregon. Not in the least. But, he did acknowledge he was surprised at the departure of offensive line coach Adrian Klemm to the NFL. "I'm not going to lie, that one hurt," said Crader. "He had told me he was going to let me know, he made 3-5 visits to my school to keep me in the loop and I actually thought he wasn’t going. He never said he wasn't and in my head it kind of sounded like he was really serious about it but but obviously I was hoping he was going to stay. So that one hurt a little bit."
