“The urgency is to get it right.”  Lanning said “You’re not in a hurry to do anything wrong.  it’s about getting it right, it’s not about getting it fast.”

“The reality is we’re a well-oiled machine right now.  We’ve got guys that really do a good job in that room.  So it’s about getting it right it’s not about sprinting to a date.  We don’t have to have somebody tomorrow.”

Oregon losing Carlos Locklyn isn't a MAJOR problem for 2024 | Oregon Ducks Podcast

Carlos Locklyn caught many Oregon fans off guard when he announced he would be leaving Oregon for Ohio State. Just how big of a problem is that for the Ducks in 2024 and beyond?

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin goes on to talk about Oregon's season-long expectations in 2024 for the Ducks in the Big 10. What sorts of new scheduling elements might the new league present?

Oregon Men's Basketball needs to hit the transfer portal after losing 3 seniors from this year's Round of 32 team. Vlad Goldin from FAU would be a PERFECT fit with the Ducks.

Spring Ball Takeaways: New Ducks arrive in Eugene following break

The Oregon Ducks kicked off their second stint of spring football practices on Tuesday, this time with one fewer position coach and a handful of new players on the roster.

Our major takeaways from the first day of Oregon Ducks’ practice after spring break.

One thing you can’t say about the Oregon Ducks Athletic Department is that it procrastinates.

Oregon unveiled the weekly color scheme for the 2024 season and their first foray into the Big Ten Conference.

The Ducks have an exciting schedule lined up this fall and perhaps the biggest game is when Ohio State visits Autzen Stadium for a Black Out on Oct. 12. While game times are far from being announced, it would be a stunning development if that wasn’t a night game under the lights.

Although they are new to the league, the Ducks won’t be going into unfamiliar territory as they have visited the five schools in their history. It is interesting that Oregon will be starting out the year with the two Idaho schools with Idaho (Green and Yellow) and Boise State (Black).

Here’s a breakdown of the weekly color schemes.

Oregon fans will need to get their closets in order as the Ducks announce the 2024 weekly color scheme.

Oregon fans react to RB coach Carlos Locklyn taking job at Ohio State

The timing is a bit unfortunate, as Oregon now looks to replace Locklyn with a new RB coach midway through the spring football season.  The news also left a lot of Oregon fans reacting on social media, som with words of encouragement for Locklyn, and others with frustration.  Here are some of the top reactions after the news came out.

    DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

A lot of Oregon fans are sad to see Carlos Locklyn leave.

I wonder if Newland Isaac is as good as advertised.  He has some pretty impressive awards and results.  He helped turn Coastal Carolina from a mid-successful team to undefeated and then Liberty to 13-1.  His team had the nation's highest rushing average.  Hmmm....

I like your choice Mudslide of Newland Isaac as Oregon's next RB coach.  Here's Ducks Wires thoughts of candidates:

Thanks Don for a this in-depth article of the women Ducks program.  I feel like the program started to go down-hill after Mark Campbell left.

I truly believe he played a big important part to the Ducks success.  After he left the decline started happening.

I could be wrong, but I can't help thinking he was the man behind the curtain.

5-star OT Michael Fasusi puts Oregon among top schools

The Oregon Ducks are looking to continue their strong recruiting in the 2025 cycle, and it appears that one of the top available players is taking a hard look at what Dan Lanning has cooking in Eugene.

On Monday, 5-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi announced his top seven schools, with the Ducks making the cut. Fasusi is also considering Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, USC, Texas, and Missouri.

Fasusi stands at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds, and is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 11 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 2 OT. Fasusi is scheduled to visit Oregon later this month on April 17th.

Report: No. 2 uncommitted QB set to visit Oregon before announcement

In a report from On3.com, the nation’s No. 2 uncommitted quarterback, Husan Longstreet, will visit Oregon before making his official announcement on April 14.

But Oregon is just one of three schools Longstreet will visit as he will be going to Ole Miss and Auburn as well.

10 Ducks who have the most to prove during Oregon's spring football season

At the moment, I have the Ducks listed at 90 scholarships at the end of March, meaning that there will be some roster attrition over the coming months before the regular season. Where will that attrition come from? It’s difficult to say right now, but we know that over the coming weeks, some tough decisions will be made about certain players.

So whether it’s someone fighting for a starting spot, or working to secure a scholarship, these are the players who we feel have the most to prove this spring in Eugene.

Oregon RB Coach Carlos Locklyn is leaving for Ohio State. Now what?

A rumor began flying around on the internet that Oregon RB coach Carlos Locklyn is planning to leave Dan Lanning's staff for Ohio State. It now appears that Dan Lanning has to hire a new running backs coach.

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin discusses the internet rumors about Locklyn leaving. As Spring football gets set to resume, what are some of the thinnest position groups on Oregon's roster?

Oregon Men's Basketball had Vyctorius Miller decommit from their 2024 class, leaving them with just one incoming high school recruit this cycle. The move ensures that Dana Altman and his staff HAVE TO have success in the transfer portal.

  14. This is a blow, especially going into the thick of Spring camp.  Right before Transfer portal coming up.  😢

Trusting Dan Lanning to bring in the next up and coming new coach with recruiting chops.  He's been excellent at this!

Report: Oregon RB coach Carlos Locklyn expected to take position at Ohio State

Oregon running back coach Carlos Locklyn is expected to take the same position with Ohio State based on a report from 247 Sports' Matt Zenitz.

The college football coaching carousel continues into the spring, as Oregon running back coach Carlos Locklyn is expected to take the same role at Ohio State, according to a report from 247 Sports' Matt Zenitz.

The news was reported late on Sunday night.

Ohio State expects to finalize a deal as soon as tomorrow to hire Oregon’s Carlos Locklyn as its new running backs coach, sources tell @247Sports.

After working at places like Florida State, Memphis and Western Kentucky, Locklyn has now developed players like current early-round… pic.twitter.com/4F5H2gJsBH

Locklyn, fresh off inking a two-year extension with the Ducks, had been Oregon's running back coach for the prior two seasons, overseeing one of the Pac-12's best rushing offenses behind future NFL Draft pick Bucky Irving and talented reserve running backs Noah Whittington and Jordan James. Locklyn was also the main recruiter for redshirt freshman Jayden Limar and incoming freshman Da'Juan Riggs.

One of those highly-rated players is 2026 athlete Madden Williams, from St. John Bosco in California. Williams is rated as a 4-star ATH per On3, ranked as the No. 18 ATH and No. 234 overall player in the class.
