  1. AB seems decently accurate up to 15-20 yards…..so, maybe the dink-and-dunk can be worked into the game plan with the multiple receiving options: WR’s, TE’s, Redd, rb’s. Gotta say, although AB’s long passing game seems to be overshooting receivers, the receivers don't seem to be getting separation, either. At least the long overthrown bombs are not interceptable! interesting to see: Herbert often seemed to throw “too high” for our receivers to catch. Strangely, those same “too high” throws, are being caught by his NFL receivers(e.g. Keenan Allen), who catch those balls where only the receivers(and not the covering db) can catch the ball. Maybe our receivers might also be a little to blame for the lack of a “long game” so far?
  2. I hate to say it, but: Stanford 28. UO 24. The lack of offensive consistency the last two weeks vs weak opponents makes me feel we’re heading towards a “bottoming out” before cold reality slaps some urgency into our guys. Maybe that’s what it will take…..as Cristobal doesn’t appear to be able to get these guys to play “hair on fire” ready…..based on the past 50% of this year’s games. Was the Ohio State game just “lightning in a bottle”. Or, is lightning going to strike twice(or more)? I’d like nothing more to be proven wrong about my prediction! Just got an uneasy feeling!
  3. I gotta say: I like your ideas! They sound like a reasonable improvement…….and include an “element of causation” of “men’s rea”, I.e. intent(showing off my UO education there—-see? I did pay attention sometimes). I like it!
  4. Thanks for bringing this Forum back, Mr Fishduck! “U da Duck!” Hey! Ducks are No. 3 in the Country! Despite Cristobal’s offensive deficiencies! Not too shabby, huh? Actually: pretty durn exciting, no?
  5. In my humble opinion, it seems to me: as Richardson goes, so go the Ducks. Richardson’s scoring and assists were tamped down v. OSU, and....the outcome was a loss. Admittedly, an unusual amount of his shots, and after his assists went in, and out......just the breaks OSU needed to get its “kismet” going. Of course, Pritchard was the engine that drove the Ducks to success last year. No too far a stretch to see that Altman’s system(and most systems) require a scoring distributer, and finisher....in order to get those W’s. To OSU’s credit their D.....and yes, their Bigs.....disrupted the Ducks just enough that they couldn’t finish their shots. If Ducks could’ve done the same to Beavs, results would’ve been different. Obviously, as has been pointed out, our absence of a rim protector is a Big “Achilles Heel”. Kudos to Dana for so much success while covering that flaw. Here’s hoping they can go far in the NCAA tourney! Go Ducks!
  6. How ‘bout those Beavs? Picked pre-season as 12th in PAC-12, and.......finish FIRST in PAC-12 tournament?! Gotta hand it to ‘em: not too shabby!
  7. How about hiring a UO student, or students, as moderators? Maybe Computer Studies students? Through the student services dept. would be good experience for them. Maybe even a Computer Prof. Might want to get involved/take it over as a fun learning experience for Computer students as part of coursework about building and maintaining a website/forum. Then, of course, you need funding to pay them, so........GoFundMe? Subscription? Register as a non-profit? UO funded(if part of a course)? Maybe even Rob Mullens would have some suggestions/interest/connections/support for you? Just ideas/thoughts.........depends on how much effort you want to put in to save this fine work you’ve already established. Just trying to be helpful....... Good Luck!
  8. So sorry to hear it, Charles. I give you MAJOR credit for: your love for the Ducks(which I share), and for thinking BIG! You ventured, and.....made a great forum. Unfortunately, you can’t keep it going. Nobody can fault you for that. The only thoughts I can offer you are: 1) Your forum is SO well established into existence, perhaps.......you can sell it to someone? There may be plenty of sites, e.g. 24/7, the Register-Guard, Go Ducks, ESPN, etc., that might be interested in buying it from you, or..... 2) Finding someone as avid and energetic a fan, like you, to take it over. Less likely, I would admit. No matter what, though, Mr. Fishduck, really appreciate and enjoyed all your input and effort! Thanks!!!!!!
  9. “That is amazing considering we don't have any real "bigs” Yes, Very true! It’s a Shame we don’t have Dante. That’s how this team is different from the 2016 team that had Bell and Boucher. And......we’re likely to run into a real problem if/when we come up against a team with a talented Big.....or two. But....it IS as Walton said: this is a small team reminiscent of the NCAA UCLA Champs before Kareem, I.e. the Walt Hazzard/Gail Goodrich teams....I think no one was taller than 6’5”. THIS Duck team, with Richardson, Duarte, Omoruyi, and the currently busting-out Figueroa might even have MORE talent than those earlier UCLA teams, ‘cause it has MORE potential big scorers. I’m not slighting Williams, either....as he’s got game, too. And......even if we DID have Dante.....then who do you sit? So, kudos to Altman for finding and collecting this talent in the post-Pritchard era,....and the several defections from last year’s team....and getting them to gel into this potent offensive and defensive unit! I see that we play the Beavs again tomorrow, so...........GO DUCKS!!!
  10. Thoughts? I think.......I loved it!!! Richardson, Omo, Figueroa, and Duarte make a 4 headed monster! Along with The undersung Williams........last time we had 5 starters who could score was 2016——-and, we went to the Final Four! So......hope and enthusiasm abounds! One at a time, though. Can’t overlook any opponent, as.....they’re all capable. LOVE the way the team seems to respond to Altman’s timeouts! In sum: GO DUCKS!!!
  11. We are VERY fortunate, and I, for one, am very grateful. I.....and we.....can certainly identify with our fellow Alum’s love for his school. If I had the resources he does, I would LOVE to do the same thing he’s done! And.....sad to say....he may actually need to give some of it away——otherwise it would be taken in taxes. Might as well choose where it goes, if you can! Thanks, Phil! Your gifts have improved the UofO waaaaay above and beyond the value of the $$$$$ you spent. You done Good!
  12. 6’5”? 280? Sounds like George Martin, who was an excellent b-ball player for the Ducks.....before he went on to a lengthy NFL career.
  13. Here, Here!
  14. It is a shame--I create directions and nobody looks at them... Don’t forget: we are Ducks, after all! ( Sorry, Charles!). Thanks for the quick instruction!
  15. Cool picture of two Ducks in Toronto newspaper:
  16. If memory serves me correctly, Chip took the UCLA job one week before.....Willie Taggart said “bye-bye” to the Ducks. If he’d waited one more week, there woulda been an opening with the Ducks again. “They” say: “timing is everything!”......
  17. Sorry. Chip Kelly is a traitor. I know, I know........”you can’t expect him to turn down a job for millions!” Well, apparently, I can......and, do. Now, he’s trying to beat the Ducks?! Say it ain’t so, Chip!!!
  18. “Altman seems to keep the whole team excited and engaged.” Look at Kepnang. He’s all in! And, Duarte gives it his all. Figueroa, too!
  19. I think the UCLA game gives a good example of Dana’s coaching skills. Ducks were getting owned, and any chance for a Duck win was waning. Dana needed better effort out of his guys. They were getting deflated because they couldn’t get shots to fall. Dana calls time out. Institutes full court press. Effort for full court press requires increased energy and focus on DEFENSE!(since offense not working). Bruins crumble under pressure! Ducks gain “mo” due to Bruins crumble. Eventually translates to increased confidence in Offense(at first led by Figueroa....illustrating why it’s good to have experienced players on the squad........take note Will R!)......and........another win in Dana’s coaching career! Great job!
  20. Thrilled for him to see Payton doing so well! Good for recruiting, too, when Altman can point out several of his players, e.g. Payton, Brooks, Boucher, Bell, Brown.........even Dotson!.........in the NBA. Maybe Duarte, next? Omo? Figueroa?
  21. AMAZING Duck victory! Ducks we’re getting owned through early second quarter. No D in the paint. No Offense on the other side. Then: Figueroa, 3 straight baskets. Omo and Duarte added intensity. Finally, Richardson asserted some offense. Good D by Lawson on full court press, and an important 3 point play. Result? Bruins go down! Good coaching by Altman to keep his guys from not giving up when it looked like it was getting away. Great game!
  22. I enjoy him. Although, there are times when I wish he talked about the game at hand more.
  23. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Big game Weds., little rest, still no Dante. Sure our guys can do it, but it certainly ain’t no “given”. So.....hopefully they grind it out, like they did so excellently against Az. Go Ducks!
  24. RG reported: “It was the final game of the season for Cal. The Ducks, however, have three more this week as they wrap up a stretch of eight games in 18 days before the Pac-12 Tournament on March 10-13 in Las Vegas.” EIGHT games in 18 days?! THEN, the PAC -12 tourney(a game every day!) starting March 10th! That’s even more than an NBA pace! Too much! I fear that’ll grind our guys down. Might help in the short term with UCLA, though.....as they have too many games, too....AND, they have to travel to Eugene for the Monday game. Might not auger too well for the Bruins! After that, though........I hope our guys will still have some “juju” left!
