Stunning Comeback! Ducks Were Down 8-0, Wins in Walk-off 9-8!

Recommended Posts

Simply unbelievable.  In the pregame interview on the GoDucks.com app for Oregon Baseball, Coach Waz was asked what he wanted the large crowd (second largest ever at PK) to learn about Oregon?  What is Oregon's identity?

Waz answered that he wanted Oregon fans to see "a team that was tough, gritty, and determined to fight to the last out."  Could he have been any more prescient?

The track record for teams down eight runs in the entire history of Super-Regionals? 0-96...until now.  Oregon made the record books with the biggest comeback ever in the Supers!

College Baseball can be so weird, give up a 8 spot, then shut them down, and work yourself back to an even ball game with two innings to go, really good job not panicking, kept at it, and they get their reward.  Now they need a 3 up 3 down inning to keep the momentum.

Wow, what a fight back, and it doesn't happen without the pitchers coming up huge, shutout except for one horrible horrible inning.  Credit to all those guys, just an amazing amount of heart there.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but that was a super fun, great game to watch. (Well, except maybe that one inning!)

Last weekend Oral Roberts trailed Washington 0-8 before winning 15-12 behind 24 hits.

Let's not count our Duck eggs until they're hatched.
