Oregon lands commitment from emerging tight end Kade Caton

The Oregon Ducks have added yet another tight-end prospect to their 2024 recruiting class and this time it comes from an unranked prospect from the state of Texas.

2024 tight end Kade Caton of Manvel high school in Texas announced on August 2nd he was committing to the Oregon Ducks. Prior to his commitment, Caton had been offered scholarships by 13 college programs. Those schools were Arkansas State, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Maine, North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, San Diego State, Syracuse, Texas State, UNLV, and UTSA.

Oregon offered Caton a scholarship during an unofficial and attending an Oregon football camp on campus in the last week of June. Five weeks later he committed to the Ducks.

Wow.  This will be fascinating to watch, as his offer group is entirely from Group-of-Five schools, with Oregon being the only Power-Five conference school to offer this unranked (Rivals) prospect.  Will he have a great senior season and be offered by other P5 schools and be upgraded?

Is this a super-interesting diamond-in-the-rough player to watch?

Knowing our coaches and their recruiting prowess, this will most likely become a big time steal!

Could also be a pwo but it feels a bit early in the 2024 cycle for walk ons to be announcing. But what do I know.

Let's see what he does this year. Looks like a two sport+ guy, maybe concentrating only on football will develop him into a top talent.

Just speculating. 6'5" 250, if he can run, catch and block, that could be a pretty good tight end.

He was at camp, coaches saw him in action, so they know what they are getting.  Like rooting for those kind of kids.

We don't know exactly how Lanning rolls, but he just keeps rolling them in. I have a feeling there is a bit of a PWO with this guy.
