David Marsh No. 2 Share Posted August 8, 2023 Probably because their overlords of fox and ESPN said they didn't want anymore teams to payout.
Log Haulin No. 3 Share Posted August 8, 2023 Boo... Beavs deserved better. Was hoping B12 would swoop them up. In the end Beavs only have themselves to blame. They should have upgraded a lot sooner. Bad timing for sure.
DanLduck No. 4 Share Posted August 8, 2023 If my memory serves correctly, OSU was one of the biggest supporters of Larry Scott, who most give a lot of blame to for contributing to the Pac12 demise. Except for last year and a couple other years in the past 25, neither WSU or OSU have done much in any sport. Baseball clearly has been successful for the Beavs, but it loses $$ every year. Baseball can continue to be successful as many Group of 5 schools currently are. While I feel a little bad for their current athletes, don't we all think that the Beavs and Cougs have always been a better fit for the Mt. West. Maybe the Beavs should paint their field orange and black. They'd fit right in.

Only if the field is primarily orange ... It would look absolutely hideous by anyone's standard. If it was all black it would be like 140 degrees out there and would be considered a health hazard.
