Five-star OT Jackson

Nixa (Mo.) five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell has amassed more than 30 offers from nearly every one of the nation’s premier programs.

“Football team success is a big one,” he said in April of what will help him ultimately decide. “My relationships with the position coach and the head coach are important. Academics matter too and every major school has good academics … If my parents like the school, that’d be pretty good too. I think they like a lot of places.”

Oregon:

“Coach Terry and the rest of the OL coaching staff are among the best in the country. Coach Lanning’s success and Missouri background is also quite enticing.”

Jared Curtis decommitted from Georgia and is looking to Dan Lanning and the Ducks

Five-star quarterback prospect Jared Curtis decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs and is considering the Oregon Ducks for his football future.

With two starting quarterbacks in the NFL, a predominant backup QB, and even more passers in the reserves, Oregon produced an incredible slew of talented pass throwers over the last decade. From Justin Herbert to Anthony Brown Jr. to Bo Nix, the Ducks are on an undeniable hot streak.

Even the current Duck quarterback, sixth-year starter Dillon Gabriel, has garnered the attention of scouts and analysts from across the country.

So, with the recent decommittment of five-star quarterback Jared Curtis from the Georgia Bulldogs, it should come as no surprise that he has the Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning in his line of sight.

Curtis, a prospect coming in the class of 2026, in March of this year but decommitted following Week 7 of the college football season. On Thursday, Oct. 17, On3's Hayes Fawcett reported that Oregon was among Curtis' list of programs that stood out in regard to his future.

Oregon Trending for Nation's No. 1 Ranked Player in 2026

Oregon already has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the 2026 cycle according to On3Sports. But it appears Dan Lanning might be just getting started.

After Edna Karr (La.) defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart reclassified to the 2025 class, and a rankings adjustment on Monday morning, a new No. 1 was crowned in the 2026 rankings. And it’s another defensive lineman with Oregon interest.

St. Frances Academy (Md.) EDGE Zion Elee is now the No. 1 ranked player in the On3 rankings. He is the No. 5 ranked player in the On3 Industry rankings which averages all of the recruiting services. He is the No. 1 ranked EDGE in both rankings.

The Ducks have now a near 90% chance to land Elee according to the On3 RPM. Here is some of what Wiltfong had to say about Oregon with some quotes from Elee.

“Oregon they are constant,” Elee said. “Other schools are in the mix but they’re not as constant as Oregon.”

Oregon is trending to land the nation's No. 1 ranked player in the 2026 recruiting class per the On3 rankings.
